A 46 éves Michael James Korandát január 5-én tartóztatták le, egy nappal azután, hogy a Bon Homme megyei serif hivatal vizsgálatba kezdett a Tabor Közösségi Központban történt „ételmérgezés” miatt.
„Az incidens kivizsgálása során arra jutottunk, a betegek mind THC hatása alatt álltak, amelyet a gyanúsított édesanyja juttatott be a Közösségi Központba egy adag brownie-ban”– állt az eskü alatt tett nyilatkozatban.
Koranda édesanyja arról számolt be, hogy a süteményt fia készítette, ő pedig elvitte magával a központ kártyapartijára. Fia a hétvégén Coloradóban tartózkodott, ahol a marihuána szabadidős használata legális a 21 évnél idősebbek számára, és egy fontnyi marihuána tartalmú vajjal tért vissza. Az asszony nem tudott róla, mit tartalmaz a brownie.
Az NBC News információi szerint Korandát 3 000 dolláros óvadék ellenében helyezték szabadlábra, a megyei jegyző szerint nem fogadott ügyvédet.
