Az iráni igazságszolgáltatás 74 korbácsütésre ítélte Roja Hesmati kurd aktivistát. Az érintett a büntetés végrehajtásáról Facebook-bejegyzésben számolt be. A büntetést a törvénynek megfelelően hajtották végre – írta a Mizan Online, az igazságügyi hatóság honlapja.
Az irániak a közösségi médiában nagyfokú felháborodással reagáltak a történtekre – írta a dpa német hírügynökség.
Hesmatit áprilisban vették őrizetbe, miután közzétett egy fotót magáról, amelyen nem viseli a nők számára kötelező fejkendőt – jelentette a Sarg című iráni napilap.
A nő ezt követően számos jogi váddal szembesült. Sikeresen fellebbezett a több mint 13 éves börtönbüntetés ellen – mondta az újságnak ügyvédje, Masziar Tatati. Az erkölcsi vétségek miatt kiszabott korbácsütés azonban érvényben maradt.
Hesmati októberben számolt be az ítéletről Facebook-oldalán, amely már nem nyilvános. Január 3-án Hesmati azt írta, hogy egy idézést követően ügyvédjével együtt megjelent a hatóságok előtt. Azt a helyet, ahol megkorbácsolták, „középkori kínzókamraként” jellemezte.
Több mint egy évvel ezelőtt, 2022 szeptember 16-án a hatóságok a kendőviselési szabályok megsértése címén őrizetbe vették a kurd származású Mahsza Aminit, aki az őrizetben meghalt, miután szemtanúk szerint súlyosan bántalmazták.
Halála évtizedek óta a legsúlyosabb tiltakozásokat váltotta ki a közel-keleti országban. A hatóságok erőszakkal fojtották el a megmozdulásokat. Azóta egyre több iráni nő tiltakozik a fejkendőviselési kötelezettség ellen.
