Egészen szürreális jelenetbe futottak bele a rendőrök egy közúti ellenőrzés során az ohiói Springfield Townshipben: egy mosómedvét találtak a sofőrülésben, amint épp egy metpipával játszott.
Az eset kedden történt, amikor a rendőrök megállították az 55 éves Victoria Vidalt, mivel rendszáma alapján kiderült, érvénytelen jogosítvánnyal vezet, és ellene körözés is érvényben van. Az Independent hozzátette, a helyzet még bizarrabbá vált, amikor az autó átvizsgálásakor a sofőrülésben egy Chewy névre keresztelt mosómedvét találtak.
A Csillagok háborúja karaktere, Chewbacca után elnevezett állat szájában egy üvegből készült metpipa volt. A rendőrség testkamerás felvételén jól hallható, amint az egyik tiszt meglepetten, majd nevetve szól a társának:
„A mosómedve játszik a nő metpipájával!”
Egy idős nő, aki szintén az autóban utazott Vidallal, megpróbálta elvenni az állattól a pipát, de a rendőrök közölték: az tárgyi bizonyíték, így nem nyúlhatnak hozzá. „Nem akarom, hogy nála maradjon” – mondta aggódva a nő.
A felvételen hallható, ahogy a rendőr igyekszik komoly maradni, miközben Chewy tovább matat az eszközzel. „Na jó, elég volt a mókából” – mondta nevetve a rendőr, majd elvette tőle az eszközt.
A rendőrség megerősítette, hogy a jármű átvizsgálásakor nagy mennyiségű metamfetamint, kokaint és három használt üvegpipát találtak. Mint közölték: „Chewy valahogyan hozzájutott az egyik pipához, ami arra késztette a rendőröket, hogy alaposabban átnézzék a járművet.”
Szerencsére az állatnak nem esett bántódása. Értesítették az illetékes hatóságokat, hogy ellenőrizzék, Vidal rendelkezik-e a megfelelő engedélyekkel Chewy tartásához.
A helyi rendőrség közleményében úgy fogalmazott: „Bár tisztjeink felkészültek a váratlan helyzetekre, egy methpipát tartó mosómedve még számukra is új élmény volt. Egyetlen mosómedve sem sérült meg az eset során.”
Victoria Vidalt más bűncselekmények miatt is kereste a rendőrség, őrizetbe vették, és vádemelések várhatók ellene kábítószer birtoklása miatt.

A közlemény szerint kereskedelmi mennyiségű kábítószer birtoklása kísérletének a gyanújával a rendőrök őrizetbe vettek egy 31 éves férfit, akire elmarasztaló ítélet esetén akár életfogytiglani börtönbüntetést is kiszabhat a bíróság.
Az ausztrál határőrség munkatársai július végén egy bejelentés nyomán találták meg a kábítószert Port Botany külváros kikötőjében egy konténerben, két számítógép-vezérelt szerszámgépbe rejtve. A kábítószer becsült utcai értéke 828 millió ausztrál dollár – áll a jelentésben. A hatóság tájékoztatása szerint Ausztráliában 2021-ben és 2022-ben naponta átlagosan 27 ember került kórházba a metamfetamin miatt, amely a második leggyakrabban fogyasztott tiltott kábítószer az országban.
Az Ausztrál Bűnügyi Hírszerző Bizottság (ACIC) januárban közzétett jelentése szerint tavaly augusztusig egy év alatt mintegy 10,5 milliárd ausztrál dollárt költöttek metamfetaminra Ausztráliában.

A német vámhatóság rekordmennyiségű, 182 kilogramm metamfetamint, vagyis kristálymetet foglalt le Hamburg kikötőjében.
„Ilyen nagy mennyiségű kristálymet kivonása a feketepiacról újabb jelentős csapás a kábítószerbűnözéssel foglalkozó nemzetközi bűnszervezetek ellen” – jelentette ki kedden René Matschke, a hamburgi vámhatóság nyomozati irodájának vezetője.
A Mexikóból konténerben érkezett kábítószert még májusban foglalták le, a rekordmértékű drogfogást csak most jelentették be, hogy ne veszélyeztessék a nyomozást.
A tájékoztatás szerint a kábítószert gondosan elrejtették víztisztító berendezésekben, de a röntgenes átvilágításuk gyanús dolgokat fedett fel.
A német vámhatóság nehéz gépi felszereléssel volt kénytelen a 194 csomagba pakolt drogot eltávolítani a víztisztító berendezések szűrőcsöveiből. Későbbi laborvizsgálatok megállapították, hogy nagy tisztaságú metamfetaminról van szó, amelynek feketepiaci értéke 14 millió euró.
A szállítólevél szerint a konténert egy másik európai országba címezték egy helyi vállalkozásnak. Az ügyben a nyomozás még nem zárult le.

A rendőrség 1800 kilogrammnyi, kristály-metamfetamint, helyben jégként ismert anyagot talált egy sydney-i kikötőben, hajókonténerekben – írja a BBC.
A rekordmennyiségű szállítmányt márványba rejtették, és utcai értéke több mint 1,6 milliárd ausztrál dollár (453 milliárd forint).
Három férfi ellen emeltek vádat a kábítószer Közel-Keletről történő behozatalában játszott állítólagos szerepük miatt.
A hatóságok szerint a férfiak egy szélesebb körű, nemzetközi kapcsolatokkal rendelkező szindikátus tagjai.
Az új-dél-walesi rendőrség szerint a csoport kifinomult volt, de a rendőrök nem hittek a merészségükben, hogy ilyen nagy mennyiségű kábítószert próbáltak észrevétlenül behozni.
Ezek a számok megdöbbentőek, ez a lefoglalás a legnagyobb Ausztrália történetében – mondta John Watson nyomozó főfelügyelő.
Ausztráliát a hatóságok által „jégjárványnak” nevezett hullám sújtja. Azt mondják, hogy a kábítószer táplálja az erőszakos bűncselekményeket, a függőséget és a mentális egészségügyi problémákat, különösen a vidéki közösségekben.

A rendőrségi közlemény szerint több mint 400 rendőr vett részt egyidejűleg abban a nagyszabású különleges akcióban Ukrajna több megyéjében, amely egy kábítószer-nagykereskedelemmel foglalkozó csoport tagjainak a letartóztatására irányult. A razziák során lefoglalt kábítószerek értéke feketepiaci áron meghaladja a 12,5 millió hrivnyát.
Az őrizetbe vett dílerek kannabisz és metamfetamin értékesítését szervezték meg Dnyipro, Zaporizzsija és Kropivnickij, valamint Krivij Rih és Nikopol területén. A csoport tagjai ezekben a megyékben éltek, és a kábítószerek nagybani értékesítési csatornáinak kialakításáért feleltek a rájuk bízott területeken.
A rendőrök összesen hét bandatag személyazonosságát állapították meg. A csoport vezetője egy 37 éves férfi. Őt és további négy társát őrizetbe vették. Kettő ellen körözést adtak ki.
A gyanúsítottak lakóhelyén 62 házkutatást tartottak. Több mint 50 kilogramm kannabiszt és több mint 7 kiló metamfetamint, 13 autót, ebből hat prémium osztályút, és egyéb tárgyi bizonyítékokat foglaltak le. Előzetes becslések szerint a lefoglalt kábítószerek feketepiaci értéke több mint 12,5 millió hrivnya.

A nyomozás során kiderült, hogy a férfi rendszeresen árusította a tiltott szerint Munkácson és a járásban. A kábítószert fecskendőkben adta át az „ügyfeleknek”. A rendőrség egy eladás során érte tetten még 2021 áprilisában.
A bírósági tárgyalásra a napokban került sor, az ítélet hatályba lépéséig a férfi előzetes letartóztatásban lesz.
