Robbanás történt szombat hajnalban a dél-lengyelországi Zofiówka szénbányájában, tíz ember eltűnt – közölte a bányát üzemeltető Jastrzebiei Széntársaság (JSW).
A mentőcsapatoknak nincs kapcsolatuk a mélyben rekedt tíz bányásszal. A metánrobbanás 900 méteres mélységben történt.

Négy napon belül ez a második bányaszerencsétlenség volt Lengyelországban. Szerdán a szintén a JSW által üzemeltetett pnióweki bányában történt metánrobbanás. Ott már öt ember meghalt, húsz sérültet kórházba vittek, hatuk állapota továbbra is kritikus. A pnióweki szénbányában a mentést újabb robbanások miatt fel kellett függeszteni, miután a föld alatt rekedt bányászokat kereső mentők közül is többen megsérültek.
A zofiówkai szénbányában 2018-ban is történt hasonló szerencsétlenség, akkor öt bányász vesztette életét.
