Nagykomjáton a helyi faszénelőállító üzemnél tűz ütött ki. A tűzesethez a nagyszőlősi és ilosvai tűzoltók, valamint a helyi tűzoltócsapat vonult ki.
A lángokat sikerült gyorsan lokalizálni 110 m²-en, és teljesen eloltani. A tűz 20 köbméter faanyagot semmisített meg, valamint károsította a raktár homlokzatát és a csomagolóberendezést, de a tűzoltóknak sikerült megakadályozni a raktárépület teljes megsemmisülését.
A tűz okát és a keletkezett kár mértékét szakértők vizsgálják.

A napokban bejelentés érkezett a tűzoltósághoz, miszerint tűz ütött ki Nagykomjáton, a Partizán utcán egy kétszintes családi házban.
A bejelentést a helyi lakosok tették, akik késő este vették észre a tüzet a szomszéd ablakában. Tudták, hogy a házban tartózkodhat egy férfi, de a sűrű füst és a lángok miatt már nem tudtak bemenni.
A helyszínre a nagyszőlősi és ilosvai tűzoltóegységek, valamint a helyi önkéntes tűzoltók érkeztek ki. A házban megtalálták az 1961-ben született férfi holttestét. A tüzet 7 perc alatt lokalizálták, majd pedig teljesen eloltották.
Tekintettel arra, hogy a téli időszakban jelentősen megnő a tragikus tűzesetek száma, a tűzoltók felhívják a lakosság figyelmét a fokozott óvatosságra és a tűzbiztonsági szabályok betartására: ne használjanak egyszerre nagy számban elektromos készüléket, ellenőrizzék az elektromos hálózat állapotát, és mindig vizsgálják át a hőtermelő készülékeket.
