A Queen Mary 2 luxushajó fedélzetén több mint 240 ember betegedett meg a rendkívül fertőző – hányást és hasmenést okozó – norovírustól. Az Egyesült Államok Betegség-ellenőrzési és Védelmi Központja (CDC) éppen akkor jelentette a járvány kitörését, amikor a Cunard körutazás a végéhez közeledett az Egyesült Királyságból a karibi térségbe tartó négyhetes visszaútján – közölte a CNN.
A Queen Mary 2 rendszeresen hajózik transzatlanti átkelőhelyeken. A hajó március 8-án indult Southamptonból, és április 6-án tér vissza az angol kikötőbe. A CDC adatai szerint az út alatt a 2538 utasból 224-en megbetegedtek a gyomor-bél rendszeri vírusban, és az 1232 fős személyzetből 17-en szintén rosszul lettek.
A Queen Mary 2 fedélzetén a fő tünetek a hasmenés és a hányás.
A CDC közölte, hogy a Cunard Line a közelmúltban megerősített járványkitörést követően fokozott tisztítást és fertőtlenítést végez a hajó fedélzetén. A fertőzött utasokat a fedélzeten tartózkodó többi személytől elkülönítették, a betegektől vett székletmintákat pedig tesztelik.
A CDC Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP), amely nyomon követi a tengeren kitört járványokat, szintén megerősítette, hogy „távolról figyeli a helyzetet, beleértve a hajó járványkitörésre adott válaszának és higiéniai eljárásainak felülvizsgálatát”.
Növekszik a betegségek száma a tengeren?
A CDC adatai szerint 2024-ben rekordszámú gyomor- és bélrendszeri járvány tört ki a hajókon, ami az idei évben sem mutat csökkenő tendenciát. A tömeges megbetegedést leginkább a norovírus okozza.
A CDC-adatok csak az ügynökség joghatósága alá tartozó hajókra vonatkoznak, ami azt jelenti, hogy a hajó útjának érintenie kell egy amerikai kikötőt, egy külföldi útvonalat, és több mint 13 utast kell szállítania. Bár ez a kritérium a világ tengerjáró hajóflottájának nagy részét érinti, nem vonatkozik minden, a világ óceánjain áthaladó hajóra. A védelmi központ leszögezte: a jelentési protokolloknak köszönhetően a betegségeket gyorsabban azonosítják és jelentik be egy tengerjáró hajón, mint a szárazföldön.

Több mint hatvan ember esett egymásnak a Carnival Magic óceánjárón. A verekedésről videó is készült, a szemtanúk szerint egy édeshármas miatt estek egymásnak az emberek hajnali két óra körül – írja a Fox News.
A verekedés hajnali két óra körül tört ki a hajó ötödik emeletén, amin egy klub és egy kaszinó is található – mesélte a lapnak Theresa James utazási ügynök.
Szerinte a konfliktust az okozta, hogy kiderült, hogy korábban a társaságból hármasban voltak együtt. Az édeshármas miatt kitört verekedésben üvegek is törtek, egy nőt meg is vágtak dulakodás közben.
A verekedés egy óráig is eltartott, a személyzet ezután az érintett feleket levitte az ötödik emeltről az elsőre, ami Theresa James szerint hatalmas táv egy ekkora hajón.
Szerinte a verekedésben mintegy hatvan ember vett részt. Azt mondta, hogy a helyzet rosszabb is lehetett volna, ha a biztonságiak nem lépnek közbe. Nevetségesen viselkedő eszetlen hülyéknek nevezte a verekedésben résztvevőket.
A biztonságiak később a partiőrséget is értesítették a verekedés miatt, és kísérettel kötöttek ki Manhattanben, ahol már New York-i rendőrség várakozott.
Azt nem tudni, hogy végül letartóztattak-e valakit.
Theresa James hozzátette, hogy bár az utazás vége elég mozgalmas volt, de összességében nagyszerűen érezte magát, úgyhogy már le is foglalata a következő nyaralást a Carnival hajóra augusztusra.

A World Dream óceánjáró fedélzetén 1666 utas és a hajó 1249 fős személyzete volt köteles hosszú órákon keresztül a kabinjában maradni. A hajó még vasárnap futott ki a három éjszakás kirándulásra, azonban egy vendég pozitív Covid-19 tesztet produkált, amely percek alatt a feje tetejére állította a menetrendet, és karanténra kényszerítette az hajón tartózkodókat.
A fedélzeten pozitív eredményt kapott 40 éves férfit egy szárazföldi eset szoros kontaktjaként azonosították, és a fedélzeti egészségügyi protokoll részeként a kórházba szállításáig azonnal elszigetelték. Az utasok elmondása szerint hajnali 1 óra körül egy bejelentésben értesültek a gyanús esetről, és onnantól már nem is hagyhatták el a kabinjukat. A vendégek csak szerdán este kezdhették elhagyni a Genting Cruise Lines „sehova sem tartó hajóját”.
Szingapúr tavaly novemberben engedélyezte újra a luxushajóutakat, amelyek kikötés nélkül, pár napon át szelik az óceán habjait, és a fedélzeten nyújtanak kikapcsolódási lehetőséget az utasoknak. A napokban azonban növekvő számú Covid-19 esetet tapasztaltak az országban, amelynek vélhetően egy karaoke- bár volt a kezdeti gócpontja és a fertőzés innen kiindulva érte el az óceánjáró utasát is.
A hírek szerint ugyanakkor a hajótársaság ura a helyzetnek, és a hatóságokkal együttműködve, megkezdték az utasok rendezett, ellenőrzött leszállítását.
Minden vendégnek, aki leszáll a World Dreamről, kötelezően részt kell vennie egy antigén gyorsteszten a hajótársaság helyi irodájában. A World Dream menetrendjében következő két éjszakás, szerdai útjának törlését leszámítva a többi meghirdetett hajókirándulást nem is módosították.
Mióta 2020 novemberében újraindultak a szingapúri luxushajók, ez volt az első pozitív eset a járatokon, ugyanakkor decemberben a Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas hajó közel 1700 utasa több mint 16 órán át kénytelen volt elszigetelődni kabinjaiban egy tévesnek bizonyult Covid-gyanú miatt. Ráadásul az eset sokakban felidézte a tavalyi évben karanténba helyezett első tengerjáró hajó, a Diamond Princess kálváriáját is. Ezt a vírus miatt 3700 emberrel a fedélzetén tartóztattak fel a Japánban található Jokohama kikötőjében még 2020. február elején. A hajó helyzetét a hatóságok akkor képtelenek voltak megnyugtatóan rendezni, a világ sajtóorgánumait bejárt híradások szerint az óceánjárón borzalmas állapotok között kellett az utasoknak vesztegelniük.

Az óceánjáró a görögországi Korfu kikötőjében várakozott, amikor tűz ütött ki rajta. Szerencse a szerencsétlenségben, hogy egyetlen turista sem tartózkodott rajta, az 51 tagú személyzetnek pedig sikerült időben elhagynia a fedélzetet, így senki sem sérült meg.
