A Kercsi-szorosban történt két olajszállító hajó elsüllyedésével okozott ökológiai katasztrófa mértéke jóval nagyobb, mint amit a hatóságok kezdetben jeleztek. A Fekete-tenger fenekén mintegy 5 ezer tonna fűtőolaj maradt, amely „zselészerű masszát” képez, és nem mozog – közölte a Krasznodari terület kormányzója, Venyamin Kondratyev a Korrespondent.net-nek.
Korábban Oroszország közlekedési minisztériuma azt állította, hogy a baleset következtében mintegy 2,4 ezer tonna olaj került a tengerbe.
A Krasznodari terület anapai és temrjuki járási partjairól már körülbelül 155 ezer tonna olajjal szennyezett homokot szállítottak el. Az ideiglenes megszállás alatt álló Krímen további 43,5 ezer tonna szennyezett talajt gyűjtöttek össze.
Baleset történt Szumi megyében egy olajvezetéken, melynek következtében körülbelül 210 négyzetméteren folyt szét a kőolaj.
Az Állami Ökológiai Felügyelőség munkatársai azonnal kiérkeztek a helyszínre, hogy megállapítsák a baleset okát és a földréteg szennyeződésének mértékét.
A történtekről egyelőre több információt nem közöltek.

Az FSO Safer már 2017 óta áll érintetlenül a Vörös-tengeren és amennyiben az ott tárolt 1.1 millió hordónyi olaj a tengerbe ömlik, ökológiai katasztrófába süllyedhet a környék.
Megannyi humanitárius katasztrófával küzd Jemen a polgárháború kitörése óta, azonban most egy olyan ökológiai katasztrófa fenyeget, amely azt a csekély reményt is elvenné a helyiektől. Ez pedig az FSO Safernek a folyamatos korhadása, ami egy nagy olajszivárgással fenyeget.
Amennyiben a mintegy 1.1 millió hordónyi olaj a tengerbe ömlik, 8 millió jemeni eshet el a tiszta víztől és a némi élelmet jelentő haltól. A The Guardian szerint egy ilyen olajszivárgás három hét alatt teljesen kicsinálná a jemeni Vörös-tenger halállományát.
A szivárgás veszélye pedig napról napra egyre nagyobb, friss modellezések szerint pedig ez nem csak Jemen, hanem Szaúd-Arábia, Eritrea és Dzsibuti számára is ökológiai katasztrófát hozna. Ez pedig mondani sem kell, több millió dolláros károkat okozna az érintett országoknak.

A katasztrófa miatt egészségügyi riasztást adtak ki a környékre. A partszakaszon a víz teljesen elszíneződött: „30 éve élek itt és sosem láttam még ehhez foghatót” – fakadt ki egy richmondi férfi.
Amellett, hogy a tömény kőolaj a lakosság számára is káros, a környezetvédők az öböl élővilágáért is aggódnak.

A japán Wakashio teherhajó júliusban futott zátonyra az üdülőparadicsomnál, a tengerbe ömlő mintegy ezer tonna dízel- és fűtőolaj súlyosan károsította az élővilágot. Japán megígérte, hogy hosszú távú segítséget nyújt Mauritiusnak.
Szuga Josihide kiemelte, hogy a segítség nemcsak az olajszennyezés további megállítására vagy eltávolítására terjed ki, de társadalmi és gazdasági területeken is érvényesül. Hangoztatta, olyan támogatást ajánlanak, amely közép- és hosszú távon jelent majd együttműködést.
A panamai zászló alatt hajózó japán Wakashio teherhajó július 25-én futott zátonyra az Indiai-óceánon fekvő üdülőparadicsomnál, és a légifelvételek tanúsága szerint a belőle kifolyó, mintegy ezer tonna dízel- és fűtőolaj nagy területen szétterjedt.
A helyi kormány augusztus 7-én rendkívüli környezeti szükséghelyzetet hirdetett attól tartva, hogy a szennyezés kihat a tengeri állatvilág veszélyeztetett fajaira, madarakra, teknősökre. A part menti vizeken betiltották a halászatot.
A helyi kormány 34 millió dollár (több mint 10 milliárd forint) kártérítést kért Japántól azért, hogy ebből az összegből egyebek között támogassák a helyi halászközösséget az elszenvedett károk miatt.
Mauritius azt is tervezi, hogy a kért összegből 100 halászbárkát építenek, helyreállítanak egy kutatóközpontot, továbbá kiképeznek 474 halászt és 60 hajóskapitányt, akik a távolabbi vizeken, a nyílt tengeren halásznának.

Jóváhagyta a szövetségű szintű rendkívüli állapot bevezetését Norilszkban szerdán Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök, miután mintegy 20 ezer tonna dízelolaj folyt ki egy tartályból, egyebek között az Ambarka és a Daldikan folyóba.
A baleset pénteken történt, miután – a TASZSZ beszámolója szerint – egy személyautó ütközött az egyik olajtárolónak a Nornickel bányavállalthoz tartozó Norilszki-Tajmiri Energetikai Vállalat (NTEK) 3. hőerőművének területén. A tartály nyomásszigetelése megsérült, és tűz ütött ki, amelyet még aznap eloltottak. Senki nem sérült meg, és a gázüzemű erőmű működésében sem volt fennakadás, de az orosz Nyomozó Bizottság (SZK) közlése szerint mintegy 20 ezer tonna üzemanyag ömlött szét mintegy 350 négyzetkilométeren.
Jevgenyij Zinyicsev, a rendkívüli helyzetek kezeléséért felelős tárca vezetője szerdán arról számolt be Putyinnak, hogy a hőerőmű alkalmazottai két napig saját maguk próbálták kezelni a katasztrófát, nem hívtak segítségül mentőalakulatokat. Az elnök értetlenségét fejezte ki amiatt, hogy a hatóságok megkésve reagáltak a történtekre, amelyekről a közösségi médiából értesültek. Putyin utasította a rendvédelmi szerveket, hogy vizsgálják ki a több tízmilliárd rubeles kárt okozó ügyet.
A főügyészség talaj- és vízszennyezés valamint a környezetvédelmi szabályok megsértése címén büntetőeljárást kezdeményezett. A hőerőmű üzemvezetőjét szerdán őrizetbe vették.
Az NTEK szerint a tároló a több mint 30 éves tartóoszlopok megsüllyedése miatt sérült meg. Zinyicsev szerdán szintén azt mondta, hogy a tartályban a nyomáscsökkenést az alapozás cölöpjeinek süllyedése okozta. Szergej Gyacsenko, a Nornickel első alelnöke úgy vélte, ez annak a következménye, hogy a talaj felolvadt az örök fagy övezetében.

Az olaj terjedését a Norilszk-Pjaszinói ökoszisztémában keddre megállították, az ivóvízkészletek nem szennyeződtek. Az olajszennyezés felszámolásában részt vesz a murmanszki tengeri mentőszolgálat is. A Nornickel szerint 10-14 napba telhet, amíg az olajat kiemelik a Daldikan és az Ambarka folyóból.
A Roszprirodnadzor orosz állami természetvédelmi felügyelet becslése szerint mintegy 6 ezer tonnányi olaj került a talajba és további 15 ezer tonnányi a vizekbe. A Greenpeace környezetvédő mozgalom arra hívta fel a figyelmet, hogy több mint három évtizede ez volt a legsúlyosabb baleset az északi sarkvidéki övezetben, azóta, hogy az amerikai Exxon Valdez tartályhajó 1989 márciusában balesetet szenvedett Alaszka partjainál. Akkor 37 ezer tonna olaj folyt ki.
