Az ottawai rendőrség paprikasprayt és villanógránátot vetett be több száz erőszakos tüntetővel szemben szombaton, akik több mint három hete vertek tábort a belvárosban a koronavírus elleni korlátozások és a kormány ellen tiltakozva.
A hatóságok elmondták, hogy a tüntetők rátámadtak a rendőrökre, és nem engedelmeskedtek a távozási felszólításoknak.
Negyvenhét tiltakozót őrizetbe vettek, és több mint harminc járművet elvontattak. A rendőrség a Twitteren közölte: mindenkit letartóztatnak, aki nem hagyja el önként a kiürítendő területet.
A rendőrök attól sem riadtak vissza, hogy betörjék a járművek ablakait, és elfogják a magukat elbarikádozó sofőröket.
Úgy tudni, hogy a műveletek során senki sem sérült meg súlyosabban.
A hatóságok pénteken kezdték meg az oltásellenes tüntetések felszámolását a kanadai fővárosban. Aznap körülbelül száz embert vettek őrizetbe. A tüntetőket napok óta kérték a városközpont elhagyására, és csütörtökön mintegy száz ellenőrzőpontot állítottak fel a belváros körül.
A kanadai megmozdulások eredetileg kamionos tüntetésként indultak, miután januárban oltási kötelezettséget vezettek be a nemzetközi forgalomban dolgozó árufuvarozók számára. A tiltakozáshoz, amely az idő előrehaladtával kormány-, illetve korlátozásellenes arculatot öltött, ezrek csatlakoztak. A fővárosi tüntetés január 27-én kezdődött.
Négyszáz-ötszáz kamion táborozott le a városközpontban, megbénítva a közlekedést. Justin Trudeau kanadai miniszterelnök a tüntetések miatt hétfőn veszélyhelyzetet hirdetett, ami lehetővé teszi a gyülekezési jog korlátozását.

A Facebook szóvivője hétfőn azt mondta, a szabályzatuk nem engedélyez olyan állításokat, amelyek szerint a COVID-19 oltás halált vagy súlyos betegséget okoz.
A YouTube néhány órával később azt közölte, hogy Bolsonaro videója megszegte „a COVID-19-cel kapcsolatos orvosi dezinformációra vonatkozó szabályt, mivel azt állította, hogy a vakcina nem csökkenti a fertőzés veszélyét, és hogy más fertőzéseket okoz”.
A YouTube emellett hét napra fel is függesztette a brazil elnök csatornáját. Bolsonarónak már korábban is törölte videóját a techóriás, mert hülyeséget beszélt a koronavírus kezeléséről.

Belehalt az új típusú koronavírus (SARS-CoV-2) okozta betegségbe (Covid-19) az izraeli oltásellenes mozgalom egyik élharcosa – jelentette a Jediót Ahronót című újság hírportálja, a ynet hétfőn.
Chaj Saulian korábban oltásellenes tüntetéseket szervezett, azokon beszédeket mondott, és a közösségi médiában felszólította jelentős számú követőjét, hogy ne hordjon maszkot, s ne oltassa be magát, mert véleménye szerint „nincs járvány, az oltás felesleges és veszélyes”.
Két héttel megfertőződése után súlyos állapotban a Tel-Avivtól délre lévő Holonban a Wolfson kórházba került, ahol hétfő reggel életét vesztette a koronavírus szövődményei miatt. Halála előtt két nappal Saulian a kórházi ágyáról oxigénmaszkban még felszólította oltásellenes követőit, hogy folytassák a harcot a vakcina ellen, s szálljanak szembe a „kormányzati kényszerítéssel”.
Az izraeli covid helyzetről
Izrael a viszonylag kisszámú oltásellenes mozgalom mellett élen jár a koronavírus elleni oltásokban, december vége óta 6 046 227 embert (tizenkét évesnél idősebbeket) már legalább egyszer beoltottak a Pfizer/BioNTech vakcinájával. Ez az ország lakosságának 65,02 százaléka, de ez sem bizonyult elégnek ahhoz, hogy a SARS-CoV-2 vírus erősen fertőző delta variánsa ne indítsa el a járvány újabb hullámát.
A védettség növelésére augusztusban újabb, harmadik oltási kampányt hirdettek meg, melyben eddig 2 897 702-en vették fel a harmadik adag vakcinát, mely a lakosság 31,16 százalékát jelenti. Jelenleg 181 509 ember van karanténban. Ők vagy külföldről tértek vissza, vagy vírushordozók, vagy érintkeztek fertőzöttekkel. Vasárnap mintegy 150 ezer teszttel 7781 új fertőzöttet szűrtek ki Izraelben, s 5,22 százalék volt a teszteltek körében a fertőzöttek aránya.
80 931 aktív koronavírus-esetet tartanak nyilván, és 1120-an vannak közülük kórházban. A súlyos betegek száma 684, és 186-ot tartanak életben lélegeztetőgéppel. A súlyos betegek túlnyomórészt az oltatlanok közül kerülnek ki. A SARS-CoV-2 koronavírus okozta betegségben (Covid-19) tavaly február óta 7406-an haltak meg Izraelben.
