A védelmi minisztérium hírszerzési főosztálya arról számolt be, hogy az egyik szíriai katonai támaszpont, ahol orosz harcosok állomásoznak, ostrom alatt áll.
„A maradék szíriai orosz kontingens között folytatódik a frusztráció és az elnyomás – az oroszok még vezetőikkel és parancsnokaikkal szemben is elégedetlenségüknek adnak hangot, többek között azok szervezési képtelenségüket illetően. Az orosz hadsereg egyik katonai bázisa ostrom alatt áll”, áll a jelentésben.
Megjegyezték, hogy a Szíriából való visszavonuláshoz az oroszok katonai szállítóhajókból álló karavánt használtak, amelyre a csapatok, fegyverek és katonai felszerelések maradványait rakták fel. Köztük An-124 és az Il-76MD repülőgépek, amelyek az Uljanovszk, Cskalovszk és Privolzsszk repülőterekre tartanak, többek között Baltijszk városában elrendelték, hogy a Sparta II szárazteherhajót és az „Alexander Sabalin” nagy kétéltű rohamhajót készítsék fel a Tartusba való hajózásra.
Az orosz északi flotta nagy kétéltű hajói, az „Alexander Otrakovszki” és az „Ivan Gren” is a Földközi-tenger felé tartanak. A hadműveletben részt vesznek az ellenséges fregattok is, az „Admiral Gorskov” és az „Admiral Golovko” is.

A hajnali légicsapás a legnagyobb orosz légibázis mellett történt Latakia közelében.
A légicsapás vélhető oka az, hogy az orosz bázison szállt le és rakodott ki az iráni forradalmi gárda (IRGC) egyik szállítógépe, ami a feltevések szerint fegyvereket hozott Szíriába, hogy onnan a Hezbollahnak juttassák el Libanonba.
A csütörtökön virradat előtt bekövetkezett izraeli légitámadásról egy brit szervezet, az Emberi Jogok Szíriai Megfigyelőközpontja jelentett elsőként. Tudomásuk szerint az izraeli drónok és harci gépek rakétái leromboltak egy katonai raktárt, és nagy távolságból észlelhető robbanásokat okoztak.
Személyi sérülésekről nem érkezett jelentés, miként arról sem, hogy a Gárda repülőgépe milyen fegyverzetet rakodott ki a légitámaszponton.
A Khmeimim támaszpont jogi státuszát az Oroszország és Szíria között 2015 augusztusában aláírt szerződés szabályozza. Ennek értelmében a bázis a szíriai kormány légiforgalmi infrastruktúrájába tagozódik be.
Izrael, csakúgy mint az Egyesült Államok, eddig kerülte a szíriai orosz erők és fegyverzetek támadását.
Az előző évek során Izrael többször is támadta Szíriában az iráni proxy haderőket és a Forradalmi Gárda Quds alakulatainak létesítményeit. Áprilisban egy célzott légitámadás ölte Damaszkuszban meg az IRGC külföldi erőinek főparancsnokát, amire válaszként Irán nagyszabású rakétatámadással válaszolt Izrael ellen.

Meg nem erősített hírek szerint ukrán rakéták felrobbantottak egy orosz katonai bázist Millerovóban, amely nagyjából 190 kilométerre fekszik Luhanszktól.
A Twitteren több kép és videó készült arról, hogy a Luhanszktól 190 kilométerre lévő millerovói katonai bázist ukrán rakéták semmisítették meg, a hírt hivatalosan még nem erősítették meg.
Ilja Ponomarenko, a Kyiv Independent újságírója pénteken egy Twitter-bejegyzésben azt írta: „számos ellenséges repülőgép semmisült meg” – írja a Newsweek.
Az orosz erők péntek délelőtt behatoltak Kijevbe, és tankhadoszlopokkal tartottak több irányból az ukrán főváros felé. A kijevi védelmi minisztérium egy Twitter-bejegyzésben Molotov-koktél használatára biztatta a lakosságot, és egyúttal felszólította az embereket, hogy ne hagyják el otthonaikat.
