Egy orosz teherhajó elsüllyedt a Földközi-tengeren Spanyolország és Algéria között, az orosz külügyminisztérium közlése szerint a hajó legénységének két tagja eltűnt, őket jelenleg is keresik.
Az Ursa Major nevű orosz teherhajó gépházában robbanás történt, a hajó ezt követően süllyedt el – adta hírül kedden a Reuters.
Az orosz külügyminisztérium közleménye szerint a legénység 16 tagjából 14-et sikeresen kimenekítették, őket Spanyolországba szállítottak, két tengerésznek viszont nyoma veszett, őket még keresik.
A rendelkezésre álló adatok alapján a hajó december 11-én indult útnak Szentpétervár kikötőjéből, és utoljára hétfőn késő este, magyar idő szerint 11 óra körül adott jelet valahol Spanyolország és Algéria között.
A hajó Vlagyivosztokba tartott, jégtörőkhöz való alkatrészeket, illetve speciális darukat szállított, amelyeket az ottani kikötőben állítottak volna fel.

A La Manche-csatornán tartózkodó hajó a franciák gyanúja szerint egy szankciókkal sújtott orosz vállalathoz tartozik. A párizsi orosz nagykövet hivatalos magyarázatot vár.
Megállítottak és lefoglaltak egy orosz konténerhajót a francia tengerészet emberei a La Manche csatornán. A BBC értesülései szerint a hajó Szentpétervárról indult és a francia partok közelében csaptak le rá.
A francia hatóságok szerint az új EU-szankciókat figyelembe véve cselekedtek, a 127 méter hosszú hajót az egyik francia kikötőbe kísérték. A hatóságok szerint a hajó egy olyan cég tulajdonában áll, amely a szankciók alá esnek. A jármű átvizsgálása jelenleg is tart.
A párizsi orosz nagykövetség azonnali magyarázatot követel az eset kapcsán.
