Oroszország kolosszális veszteségeket szenved a csatatéren – az észt hírszerzés felbecsülte az agresszor várható veszteségeit.
Október folyamán Oroszország mintegy 40 000 katonát veszíthetett el. Az észt Védelmi Hírszerző Központ helyettes vezetője, Janek Kesselmann szerint ez lehet az orosz hadsereg legnagyobb vesztesége az ukrajnai invázió kezdete óta.
Elmondása szerint az elmúlt héten nem történt jelentős változás a Kurszk régióban. Az ukrán hadsereg továbbra is folytat manővereket. A tisztviselő hangsúlyozta, hogy az orosz erők előrenyomulását a hatalmas lövedékek, különösen aknavető, drónok és céltalan tűz tette lehetővé.
Ugyanakkor szerinte jelentősek az oroszok veszteségei. Az elmúlt nap során az ukrán katonák 1630 betolakodót számoltak fel, és 251 egységet semmisítettek meg. Október 25-én az agresszor háborús veszteségei meghaladták a 685 ezer katonát.

Oroszország 657 940 katonát veszített az Ukrajna elleni, 2022. február 24-én indított teljes körű invázió óta – jelentette az ukrán fegyveres erők vezérkara október 4-én.
