Elsüllyedt egy utasokat szállító hajó a Mianmar északi részén levő Csindvin folyón, a balesetben tizenkét ember eltűnt – közölte a mianmari junta szerda éjjel.
A hatóságok közleménye szerint a hajó legénységének három tagját, hat civil utast és a biztonsági erők három tagját tartják számon eltűntként.
Bár a hivatalos közlés eltűntekről szólt, a BBC mianmari szolgálata helyi forrásokra hivatkozva azt jelentette, hogy tizenkét holttestet meg is találtak.
A hajón mintegy száz ember utazott, amikor kedden örvénybe került és elsüllyedt Mingin városnál.
A Csindvin folyón 2016-ban 73 ember, többségében diákok és tanáraik fulladtak vízbe egy súlyos hajóbalesetben.
