Összeomlott egy építés alatt álló hangár az Egyesült Államokban, az Idaho államban található Boise repülőterén, három munkás meghalt és kilencen megsérültek – közölte a város tűzoltósága helyi idő szerint szerdán.
Idaho állam fővárosának repterén egy magántulajdonban lévő hangárt javítottak a munkások, amikor a baleset történt.
A tűzoltóság közölte, hogy a charter-járatokat üzemeltető Jackson Jet Center cég csarnokán több tucat ember dolgozott, közülük hárman azonnal életüket vesztették a balesetben, öten pedig életveszélyes állapotban vannak.
„Nem tudjuk pontosan, mi okozta a hangár összeomlását. Most arra összpontosítunk, hogy támogassuk a csapatunkat és partnereinket ebben a nehéz időszakban” – közölte Jessica Flynn, a Jackson Jet Center szóvivője.
Aaron Hummel, a fővárosi rendőrség műveleti vezetője „katasztrofálisnak” nevezte a történteket, és közölte, hogy rendőrségi nyomozást is indítottak az ügyben. Az üzemeltető közölte, hogy a repülőtér működését nem befolyásolja a baleset.

Összeomlott egy tizenhárom emeletes épület az észak-egyiptomi Alexandriában, legalább egy ember megsérült, de sokan a romok alatt rekedhettek – közölte a helyi média hétfőn.
A balesetet követően a helyszínre riasztott tűzoltók azonnal hozzáláttak, hogy túlélők után kutassanak a törmelékek között.
Az egyiptomi egészségügyi minisztérium közlése szerint a sérültek ellátására 12 mentőautó sietett a helyszínre, a környékbeli kórházak pedig fokozott készültséggel várják az ellátásra szorulókat.
Mohamed al-Serif, Alexandria kormányzója az al-Ahram állami hírlapnak adott nyilatkozatában elmondta, hogy a többnyire nyaralókat elszállásoló épület összeomlása előtt egy „függőleges törésvonal” futott végig az épületen.
Egyiptomban nem ritka jelenség az épületek hirtelen összeomlása: sok helyen egyáltalán nincs szabályozva a lakóházak karbantartása, így az elöregedő épületek biztonsági körülményeit sem felügyelik a hatóságok.
Az észak-afrikai országban évről évre nagy számban épülnek fel engedély nélkül épületek és lakóházak, annak ellenére, hogy a kormány az elmúlt években igyekezett hatékonyabban fellépni az illegális építkezések ellen.

Vasárnapra virradóan összedőlt egy 5 emeletes lakóépület a dél-franciaországi Marseille-ben.Legalább öten megsérültek, de halálos áldozatokról egyelőre nem érkezett hír. Ez változhat, hiszen valószínűleg sokan rekedtek a romok alatt.
Továbbra is több mint 100 tűzoltó dolgozik a helyszínen. A hatóságok azt gyanítják, hogy a ház robbanás miatt dőlt romba, mivel a helyiek nem sokkal a tragédia előtt egy hatalmas durranást hallottak.
Benoit Payan, a francia város polgármestere elmondta: az 5 sebesültet kórházban ápolják. Egyikőjük állapota sem válságos. Hozzátette, hogy még nem sikerült megfékezni a keletkezett tüzet, ezért egyelőre nem mindenhol tudták megkezdeni a kutatási munkákat.
A tűzoltók is veszélyben vannak, hiszen félő, hogy a robbanás miatt a szomszédos épület is megrongálódott és bármikor összeomolhat.

A hatóságok arról tájékoztattak, hogy a mentési munkálatokat megkezdték, a Farsz iráni hírügynökség szerint csaknem 80-an rekedtek a romok alatt.
A Mehr hírügynökség helyszíni beszámolókra hivatkozva azt közölte, hogy több, a környéken parkoló autó is megrongálódott.
A Metropol nevű épületen még zajlottak a munkálatok a baleset idején, a tulajdonost és az építésvezetőt letartóztatták.

Összeomlott egy hatemeletes lakóépület a közép-kínai Csangsa városában péntek délután – számolt be az MTI több kínai sajtóforrás nyomán.
Az egyelőre ismeretlen okból összedőlt épületben tartózkodók mentésére több mint száz főből álló csapatot küldtek. A helyi tűzoltóság arról számolt be, hogy már néhány embert sikerült kimenteni, de nem adtak tájékoztatást sem az eddig kimentettek, sem a szerencsétlenség idején az épületben tartózkodók számáról.
Sajtóbeszámolók, továbbá a kínai közösségi platformokon megosztott felvételek szerint az épület összeomlása hatalmas porfelhőt kavart a környéken.
A Csangsai Orvosi Egyetem közelében található épület alsóbb szintjein étterem és mozi is működött.
Kínában gyakoriak a különböző, az épületbiztonsági előírások be nem tartásával összefüggő balesetek. Tavaly júliusban egy szálloda omlott össze a kelet-kínai Szucsouban. A balesetben 17 ember veszítette életét.

A reggeli órákban újabb támadás érte az ukrán fővárost, melynek következtében részben összedőlt egy 12 emeletes lakóépület a Sevcsenkivszkij kerületben.
Az ukrán katasztrófavédelmi szolgálat közleménye szerint reggel 6 óra 16 perckor érkezett a bejelentés, miszerint ismeretlen lövedékek, repeszek csapódtak az épületnek, majd a legfelső emelet összeomlott, és a detonációban egy szomszédos 9 emeletes épület is megrongálódott.
A katasztrófavédelem hozzátette, a 12 szintes épületben tűz ütött ki, amit 7 óra 45 percre sikerült eloltaniuk, míg a szomszédos épületben nem csaptak fel a lángok. A sérültek, áldozatok felkutatása jelenleg is zajlik a romok között. Egyelőre két sérültről tudni, 37 embert pedig már evakuáltak az épületből.
A legutóbbi támadásra akkor került sor, amikor a lakosok részére újabb kétnapos kijárási tilalmat rendeltek el az egész városban, így mindenki igyekezett védett helyre vonulni, a bunkerekben, a földalatti óvóhelyeken meghúzódni, de többen az otthonaikat választották, ami ebben az esetben veszélyesebb lehet a hasonló támadások miatt.

Delta állam helyettes kormányzója a helyszínen tájékozódott a körülményekről, és azt nyilatkozta, hogy az épület egy része teljesen megsemmisült, sokkal több áldozata is lehetne egy ilyen tragédiának. Az épület emeletén sok gyerek volt, szerencsére a legtöbben túlélték a katasztrófát.
Az Üdvösség Szolgálói nevű egyház működött a templomban. Henry Chibor tiszteletes hangsúlyozza, hogy az Üdvösség Szolgálói csak bérelték az épületet, nem az egyház tulajdona a romba dőlt ingatlan. A tulajdonos maga végezte az építési és felújítási munkálatokat, az egyháznak nem volt beleszólása a munkálatokba, amik az épület összeomlásához vezettek, tette hozzá a pap.
Nigéria Afrika legnépesebb országa, a lakáshiány és a szegénység miatt sok a rossz állapotú épület, gyakoriak a házomlások. Egy egyetemi összesítés szerint 2005 óta legalább 152 épület dőlt össze csak Lagosban, a körülbelül 20 milliós népességű kikötővárosban.
