Katalóniában egy hét elteltével sem csitulnak a tüntetések Pablo Hasél rapper szabadon engedéséért; szerdára virradóra ismét összetűzések voltak a rendőrök és a demonstrálók között Barcelonában.
Ahogy egy hete minden este, újból tömegek vonultak az utcákra, a kezdetben békés megmozdulás azonban megint rongálásba és erőszakba torkollt. A tüntetők konténereket gyújtottak fel, kirakatokat törtek be, üvegpalackokkal dobálták a rendőröket. Egy újságíró is megsérült.
A város lakóit egyre jobban felháborítják az estéről estére ismétlődő incidensek, többen ablakukból, erkélyükről kiabáltak a tüntetőknek, hogy fejezzék be a randalírozást.
A városvezetés becslése szerint az elmúlt egy hétben keletkezett anyagi kár meghaladja a 1,5 millió eurót (538 millió forint). Katalóniában eddig több mint 110 embert vettek őrizetbe, a sérültek száma is száz felett van. Kezdetben több mint húsz spanyol városban csatlakoztak a tiltakozó akciókhoz, mostanra azonban már csak néhány katalán városban ismétlődnek a megmozdulások.
Pablo Hasélt múlt hét kedden tartóztatták le, miután elbarikádozta magát a léridai egyetemen, hogy megpróbálja elkerülni kilenc hónapos börtönbüntetését. Több, még zajló bírósági eljárás mellett két jogerős ítélet van érvényben ellene: egy, mert terrorszervezeteket – például a Baszk Haza és Szabadság (ETA) és az al-Kaida terroristáit – dicsőített, és egy másik, mert a rendfenntartó erőket és a monarchiát gyalázta dalszövegeiben.
A rapper ügye élénk közéleti vitát váltott ki a véleménynyilvánítás szabadságának határairól, több ismert művész állt ki a zenész mellett.
