Fegyveresek egy csoportja felgyújtott egy lányiskolát a pakisztáni tálibok egykori fellegvárában, a rossz közbiztonságáról hírhedt Észak-Vazirisztán tartományban – közölték a helyi hatóságok szerdán.
Személyi sérülés nem történt, de az iskola berendezése teljesen megsemmisült. Ez már a harmadik ilyen jellegű támadás ebben a hónapban. Május elején két másik lányiskolát is megtámadtak a térségben.
Egyelőre egyetlen szervezet sem jelentkezett a támadások elkövetőjeként, de a hatóságok olyan iszlamista fegyvereseket gyanúsítanak a gyújtogatással, akik már évekkel ezelőtt elkezdték támadni a lányiskolákat, mert véleményük szerint a nőknek nem szabad tanulniuk.
Észak-Vazirisztán tartomány a Tehrík-i-Talibán Pakisztán (TTP) nevű iszlamista milícia korábbi fellegvára, amely a kabuli kormánytól független, de szövetségese az afganisztáni táliboknak, akik 2021 augusztusában magukhoz ragadták ott a hatalmat, miután az amerikai és NATO-erők kivonultak az országból.
Pakisztánban azóta, hogy a TTP 2022 novemberében felmondta a központi kormánnyal kötött tűzszüneti megállapodását, megnőtt a rajtaütéses támadások száma, de ezeknek elsősorban a biztonsági erők tagjai a célpontjai. E támadásokért többnyire a TTP-t teszik felelőssé a hatóságok.
