A spanyol kormány Írországgal együtt a palesztin ügy egyik legelszántabb támogatója. A spanyol szakszervezetek szerint a gázai tűzszünetre Izrael nemzetközi elszigetelődése miatt került sor, ezért fokozni kell a nyomást a zsidó államra a kétállami megoldás érdekében.

Tüntetők lepték el a Trump Tower előcsarnokát New Yorkban, tiltakozva a Columbia Egyetem palesztinpárti aktivista hallgatójának, Mahmoud Khalilnak a letartóztatása és kitoloncolási ügye ellen – írja a Reuters.
A szombaton New Yorkban letartóztatott, jelenleg Louisianában bevándorlási őrizetben lévő Khalil ügye széleskörű tiltakozást váltott ki. Demokrata törvényhozók, az ENSZ megszállt palesztin területekért felelős különmegbízottja és civil jogvédők is felszólaltak az ügyben.
A Jewish Voice for Peace nevű zsidó anticionista szervezet által szervezett csütörtöki demonstráción a New York-i rendőrség becslése szerint legalább 150-en vettek részt. A tüntetők „Ne a diákokkal, a nácikkal harcoljunk” és „Szabadságot Mahmoudnak, szabadságot Palesztinának” feliratú táblákat tartottak.
A Manhattan Fifth Avenue-ján található Trump Tower, amely a Trump Organization székhelye és Donald Trump, valamint Melania Trump penthouse lakásának is otthont ad, a tüntetés helyszínéül szolgált. Az épületben él jelenleg Barron Trump is, aki ősszel kezdte meg tanulmányait a New York Egyetemen.
A rendőrség több tüntetőt őrizetbe vett, bár a pontos számot nem közölték. Kaz Daughtry közbiztonsági helyettes polgármester a Fox News-nak nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy sérülés nem történt, és minden tüntetőt eltávolítottak az épületből.
Khalil letartóztatásával a Trump-adminisztráció megkezdte kampányígéretének teljesítését, miszerint kitoloncolják azokat a külföldi születésű aktivistákat, akik részt vettek a tavalyi egyetemi kampuszokon zajló tüntetésekben.
A demonstrációk Izrael Gáza elleni katonai offenzívája után kezdődtek, amely a Hamász 2023 októberi támadására adott válasz volt.
Khalil, aki az Egyesült Államok állandó lakosa, vezető szerepet töltött be a Columbia Egyetem palesztinpárti diákmozgalmában. Trump a közösségi médiában „radikális külföldi Hamász-párti diákként” bélyegezte meg, és jelezte, hogy ez az eset csak az első a sok közül.

Görögország kiutasít kilenc európai állampolgárt az országból, akiket egy Athénban szervezett palesztinpárti tüntetés során vettek őrizetbe – közölték hétfőn a gyanúsítottak ügyvédei.
A görög rendőrség összesen 28 görög és külföldi állampolgárt vett őrizetbe az Athéni Egyetem jogi karát elfoglaló palesztinpárti tiltakozás során a múlt héten. A gyanúsítottak tagadták, hogy bármilyen jogsértést követtek volna el.
Az őrizetbe vettek közül a görög állampolgárokat május 28-ára kitűzött tárgyalásukig szabadlábra helyezték, azonban a brit, francia, olasz és spanyol állampolgárságú tüntetők a kitoloncolásukig őrizetben maradnak.
A külföldi tüntetők ügyvédei közleményben tudatták, hogy védenceik ellen kiutasítási végzést adtak ki, amely egyben azt is megakadályozza, hogy részt vegyenek a tárgyalásukon.
Az őrizetbe vett külföldiek közül két, Görögországban dolgozó és élő gyanúsított ügyvédje közölte, hogy védenceik várhatóan fellebbeznek a döntés ellen, egyikük „önkényesnek és törvénytelennek” nevezte védencének kitoloncolását.
Az athéni vezetés 2019-ben hatályon kívül helyezte azt a törvényt, amely megtiltotta a rendőrség számára az egyetemekre való belépést.
A törvényt a 1973-as athéni diáklázadás „örökségeként” alkották meg a diáktüntetések és a gondolatszabadság védelmében.

Libanon egyetemein országszerte több száz egyetemista tartott Izrael elleni tüntetést kedden, amelyet a résztvevők elmondása szerint az Egyesült Államokban megrendezett hasonló tüntetések inspiráltak – jelentette a Reuters hírügynökség.
Ez az első ilyen diáktüntetés Libanonban. A tüntetők Bejrút és más városok egyetemein gyűltek össze, palesztin zászlót lobogtattak, plakátokat tartottak föl és egyetemeiktől az Izraellel partnerségben álló vállalatok bojkottálását követelték. A Bejrúti Amerikai Egyetem (AUB) egyik hallgatója kijelentette, hogy a diákok szerint a palesztin ügyért megéri kockáztatni akár a diplomaszerzést is.
„Látván a palesztinokat a Gázai övezetben és azokat a tanulókat, akik elvesztették egyetemüket, életüket és családjukat, nem számít számunkra annyira a végzettség, mint a felszabadított Palesztina, amely a folyótól a tengerig tart” – mondta az idézett hallgató, hozzátéve, hogy a résztvevőket az amerikai tüntetések, különösképp a Columbia Egyetemen megrendezett tüntetés inspirálta.
A „folyótól a tengerig” a Jordánra és a Földközi-tengerre utal, és a Hamász manifesztumában is szerepel, mint „felszabadítandó” terület, beleértve a mai Izrael Állam területét is.
Az AUB diákjai hivatalos engedélyt kaptak a vezetőségtől a két órás tüntetésre. Az eseményen nagyjából kétszázan vettek részt, és a tüntetők mozgását az egyetem területén a biztonsági őrök korlátozták. Ez volt a hatodik olyan szombat egymás után, amikor tüntetők vonultak a brit főváros utcáira, tiltakozva a Gázai övezetben zajló izraeli hadműveletek ellen.
A rendőrség kora estig nem tett közzé létszámbecslést, de a két főszervező, a Palestine Solidarity Campaign nevű szolidaritási kampánycsoport és a Stop the War nevű háborúellenes civil mozgalom előzetesen jelezte, hogy legalább százezer embert vár a megmozdulásra.
Az izraeli katonai akció előzményeként a Gázát uraló Hamász iszlamista terrorcsoport fegyveresei október 7-én meglepetésszerű támadást indítottak Izrael ellen, betörtek az ország déli részébe, 1200 embert meggyilkoltak, háromezret megsebesítettek, és 240 túszt a Gázai övezetbe hurcoltak.
A szombati londoni tüntetés résztvevőinek fő követelése az volt, hogy az előző nap életbe lépett tűzszünetet Izrael nyilvánítsa végleges fegyvernyugvássá. A tűzszünet kezdete óta a Hamász több túszt szabadon bocsátott, és Izrael is elengedett fogva tartott palesztinokat, köztük nőket és fiatalkorúakat.
A Scotland Yard a szombati londoni tüntetés előtt közzétett felhívásában arra figyelmeztette a résztvevőket, hogy a rendőrök a demonstráción felhangzó jelszavak tartalmát is szoros figyelemmel követik, nem fogják eltűrni a gyűlöletbeszédet, a rasszista megnyilvánulásokat, és azt sem, hogy a tüntetők terrorcselekményeket – gyilkosságokat, emberrablásokat – dicsőítsenek vagy propagáljanak.
A londoni rendőrség szombat esti tájékoztatása szerint a tüntetők közül hat embert vettek őrizetbe, négyet közülük azért, mert Dávid-csillagba foglalt horogkeresztet ábrázoló szórólapokat terjesztettek.
Két további személyt azért vettek őrizetbe, mert a hivatalos tájékoztatás szerint fehér arab felirattal ellátott zöld fejpántjukon betiltott szervezetet propagáltak.
A brit terrorellenes törvény alapján 14 évig terjedő szabadságvesztéssel sújthatók, akik a brit kormány által militáns terrorszervezetnek minősített csoportokhoz csatlakoznak, e csoportokat bármilyen módon támogatják, illetve másokat ilyen csoportok támogatására biztatnak.
A brit kormány két évvel ezelőtt terrorszervezetté nyilvánította a Hamászt, amelynek nagy-britanniai tevékenységét és támogatását törvényen kívül helyezte.
A szombati londoni demonstrációt 1500 fős rendőri kontingens biztosította. Vasárnap – a Hamász október 7-i terrortámadása óta először – az antiszemitizmus ellen rendeznek nagyszabású demonstrációt Londonban. A szervezők erre a felvonulásra legalább 45 ezer résztvevőt várnak.

Több ezer ember vonult végig Miguel Díaz-Canel kubai elnök vezetésével csütörtökön Havanna egyik ikonikus sétányán az Izrael és a Hamász palesztin terrorszervezet közötti háború befejezését követelve, és támogatásukról biztosítva a palesztin népet.
A hagyományos fekete-fehér palesztin sálat viselő elnököt elkísérték Kuba legfontosabb vezetői, köztük Manuel Marrero miniszterelnök és Bruno Rodríguez külügyminiszter is. A tüntetők a felvonulás során, amihez egy idő után palesztin orvostanhallgatók is csatlakoztak, elhaladtak az amerikai nagykövetség előtt.
Sok fiatal „Szabad Palesztinát” feliratú plakátokat tartott a magasba, amelyeken a bombatámadásban megsebesült gyerekek fotói vagy a kubai és palesztin zászlók voltak láthatóak.
Izrael és a Hamász Katar és Egyiptom segítségével szerda hajnalban állapodott meg tűzszünetről az október 7-én indult háborúban.
Október 7-én a Hamász fegyveresei meglepetésszerű támadást indítottak Izrael ellen, betörtek az ország dél részébe, és mintegy 1200 embert megöltek, nagyjából háromezret megsebesítették, és hozzávetőleg 240 embert elraboltak és túszként tartanak fogva. Válaszul Izrael háborút indított a terrorszervezet ellen, és teljes blokád alá vonta a Gázai övezetet.
A gázai hatóságok szerint a háborúban 13 300 civil halt meg az övezetben, és a 2,3 millió ott élő mintegy kétharmada földönfutóvá vált.
A háború kezdete óta ez a második alkalom, hogy Kuba vezetői szolidaritási felvonuláson vesznek részt. A múlt héten a palesztin zászlót vetítették ki a karibi főváros egyik legismertebb emlékművére.

Szombatra újabb palesztinpárti tüntetéseket hirdettek meg az Egyesült Államok több városába, egy nappal azután, hogy Washingtonban és New Yorkban is rendőröknek kellett beavatkozni a tiltakozásokon.
Országos médiumok beszámolója alapján péntek este New Yorkban és Washingtonban a csúcsforgalom idején tartottak tömegtüntetést.
New York vasútállomása, a Penn Station bejáratát zárták el a tűzszünetet követelő tüntetők, akik között feltűnt és beszédet mondott Susan Sarandon, Oscar-díjas színésznő.
Washington fő pályaudvara, a Union Station bejáratát zárták el a tüntetők, akik közül három embert őrizetbe vett a rendőrség.
A tiltakozó táblákon az Izraelnek küldött amerikai támogatások leállítását követelték, valamint az Izrael megalakulása előtti, 1948-as határokat a Közel-Keleten, „imperialista mohóságot” emlegettek az izraeli válaszcsapás nyomán, és a „Tisztelet a palesztin mártíroknak” felirattal vonultak.
Helyi médiumok beszámolói szerint Michigan állami egyetemén szintén pénteken több száz tiltakozó rohanta meg az oktatási intézmény rektori épületét egy szélsőbaloldali diákcsoport szervezésében. Az egyetem közleménye szerint a tömeg erőszakkal hatolt be a zárt épületbe, amelynek előterében hangosan tüntetett Izrael ellen. A tiltakozókat a kiérkező rendőrök távolították el az ötvenezer diákot oktató egyetem adminisztratív épületéből Michigan államban.
