Két éjszakán keresztül pusztított, rabolt mintegy száz „fiatal” az Egyesült Államok ötödik legnagyobb városában, a Pennsylvania-beli Philadelphiában. A rendőrség megkezdte az azonosítható elkövetők letartóztatását. A randalírozó, pusztító tömeg tombolására azt követően került sor, hogy a bíróság felmentett, ahogy a Fox News fogalmazott, „egy fehér philadelphiai rendőrt, aki lelőtt egy fekete lakost, Eddie Irizarryt”.
A Philadelphiát több napig fosztogató bűnözők azt követően kezdték meg a tömeges rendbontást, hogy rendőri intézkedés során lelőtt fiatal ügyében békés tüntetést tartottak a városban. Bár az ámokfutás órákkal azután történt, hogy a bíró minden vádpont alól felmentette Mark Dial volt rendőrtisztet, aki ellen vádat emeltek a 27 éves Eddie Irizarry lelövése miatt, John Stanford, ideiglenes rendőrfőnök kijelentette: a rablássorozatnak és a randalírozásnak nincs „semmi köze” a tüntetéshez.
Újabb George Floyd-ügy?
Miközben a CNN és más, a fősodatú, balliberális médiához tartozó híroldalak már kész tényként kezelték a rendőr elítélését, és „gyilkosságként” írták le a fiatalember lelövését, konzervatív források, mint a Fox News hírtelevízió, az ügy olyan részleteit emelték ki, mint hogy kés volt az autójában lelőtt fiatalembernél.
„Olyan emberek voltak, akik kihasználtak egy lehetőséget és arra törekedtek, hogy tönkretegyék városunkat” – fogalmazott Stanford újságírók előtt, „egy csapat, az alkalomra leső bűnözőnek” nevezve a randalírozó csoportot. A rendőrfőnök a zavargásokat ahhoz az esethez hasonlította, amikor egy George Floyd nevű, ismert, a rendőrséggel szembeszegülő bűnöző 2020-as halála után tüntetések törtek ki egész Philadelphiában, majd ezek a randalírozások lángba borították az Egyesült Államok nagyvárosait a szélsőséges BLM-mozgalom hatására.
Kedd délután Philadelphiában békés demonstrációt tartottak az ügyben hozott bírói ítélet ellen tiltakozva. Mint azt a Fox29 is hírül adta, a Szocializmus és Felszabadítás Pártja által szervezett demonstráció résztvevői a városházától vonultak az igazságügyi szervek egyik épületéig kedd este. A rendőrség figyelemmel kísérte a gyűlést.
A Fox News Digitalnak adott nyilatkozatában egy rendőrtiszt kifejtette: a fosztogatás egy másik helyszínen és időpontban, nem sokkal kedd este 8 óra előtt kezdődött, amikor a rendőrök nagyszámú, fekete ruhába öltözött és maszkot viselő fiatal férfit észleltek Philadelphia belvárosi üzleti negyedében, a Center City nevű városrész sétálóutcáján.
Összehangolt támadás
Körülbelül ugyanebben az időben a rendőrség diszpécserszolgálatához egy Foot Locker üzletben történt lopásról szóló segélyhívások érkeztek. Amikor a rendőrök megérkeztek, azt találták, hogy „összehangolt támadás keretében kifosztották”.
Az abc7chicago.com számolt be arról, a tömeget egy fiatal nő, a 21 éves Dayjia Blackwell a közösségi médiában élő adásban buzdította fosztogatásra.
Legalább egy felnőtt gyanúsítottat letartóztattak, a többiek elmenekültek a helyszínről. A keddi zavargásokat követően legalább 52 embert letartóztattak – közöttük az erőszakos cselekményeket bátorító nőt is – ám a bűnözői csoportoknak ez sem szegte kedvét: a nagyvárosban szerda éjjel újra kezdődtek a fosztogatások.
A fiatalkorú fosztogatók többek között az Apple, a Lululemon és Foot Locker áruházait rohanták meg. A rendőrség szerint az üzletek tömeges, erőszakos kirablását az elkövetők „nyilvánvalóan összehangoltan hajtották végre”.
A közösségi médiában közzétett videókon maszkos, kapucnis emberek láthatóak, amint végigfutnak az utcán és több üzletbe is bemennek, ahol aztán megtöltik a karjukat áruval, majd elmenekülnek. Az esetről beszámoló források „flashmob jellegű fosztogatásnak” nevezték a történteket.
Bábuk a földön
A lopások és a zavargások a belvárostól Északkelet- és Nyugat-Philadelphiáig terjedtek, a bűnözők a rendőrség szerint összetört üvegek, ledobott ruhák és kidöntött kirakatok pusztító nyomát hagyták maguk után. Egy T-Mobile üzlet üvegajtóját betörték, és válogatás nélkül, több ezer dollárba kerülő készülékeket és tartozékokat dobáltak ki az utcára.
Kenney, Philadelphia polgármestere szerda kora reggel, miután kedd este több órán keresztül akár 100 elkövető, köztük sok fiatalkorú is részt vett az üzletek kifosztásában.
Az erőszakos tömeg több napos rablóhadjáratát markánsan jelképezi az a felvétel, utcára kihányt kirakati bábu, amelyet a fosztogatók dobáltak a földre az egyik márkás ruhaüzlet kirablása után.
Már az italboltoknál tartanak
Szerdán a fosztogató csoportok – a jelek szerint együttműködve – a város több pontján is pusztítottak, betörtek az üzletekbe és mindent összeszedtek, amit csak tudtak, majd elmenekültek – közölték a hatóságok.
A gyanúsítottak legalább 18 állami italboltot is kifosztottak, olyan alaposan, hogy Pennsylvania állam hatóságai bejelentették: további intézkedésig bezárják a philadelphiai italt árusító üzleteket.
