Az ukrán állampolgárok Afganisztánból történő evakuálását nem az állami költségvetésből finanszírozták, közölte Dmitro Kuleba ukrán külügyminiszter az Ukrajina 24 TV-csatorna adásában, számolt be az Interfax-Ukrajina.
„Nem fizettünk ezért a repülőgépért, mert már jóval előre – amikor a tálib offenzíva elkezdődött, előtte keresni kezdtük az evakuálási lehetőségeket. Általában az evakuálás az alábbiak alapján történik: elküldöd a gépedet, felvesz valakiket és visszatér. Ez az opció elérhetetlen volt számunkra, mert hatalomátvétel történt, a repülőtér nem fogadott repülőgépeket. Így hát más lehetőségeket kerestünk, és találtunk egy ukrán magángépet, amely abban az időben a kabuli repülőtéren volt. A repülőgép tulajdonosai megértést tanúsítottak, és együttműködtek a kormánnyal” – mondta a miniszter. Egyben hozzátette, hogy az evakuálást kevesebb, mint 24 óra alatt szervezték meg.
„Még több ukrán állampolgárt menekítettünk volna ki, de ők akkor egyszerűen nem jutottak ki a repülőtérre. A gépnek pedig indulnia kellett, különben elakadt volna, és egyáltalán nem szállt volna fel” – tette hozzá Kuleba. A miniszter megjegyezte, hogy nem hozza nyilvánosságra az ukránok evakuálására vonatkozó következő járatok előkészítésének részleteit.
„Sokan szeretnék, ha az ukrán evakuálás ne járjon sikerrel, ezért nem árulok el részleteket arról, hogy ki hová repül” – magyarázta Kuleba.
Egyben kiemelte, hogy Ukrajna segítséget nyújt más országok állampolgáraik evakuálásában, de az első helyen az ukrán állampolgárok kimenekítése van, a második pedig az otthon veszélyben lévő afgánok evakuálása. „Ezek például újságírók, emberi jogi aktivisták vagy aktív álláspontot képviselő nők” – magyarázta Dmitro Kuleba.
