Tűzvész emésztette fel az „örök lángot” őrző szent Reikado csarnokot Japánban, Mijadzsima szigetén – tájékoztat a BBC.
A Reikado csarnok a Daisho-in buddhista templomkomplexum része, és ebben a teremben őrzik az úgynevezett „örök lángot”, amely a templom szerzetesei szerint már közel 1200 éve ég.
A Japan Times információi szerint a templom áthelyezte az „örök lángot” egy másik helyszínre.
A hatóságok szerint a tűz valószínűleg a láng miatt keletkezett, de a tűzoltók sikeresen megfékezték. A Reikado csarnok 2005-ben is leégett, de a lángot akkor is sikerült megőrizni.
