A térfigyelő kamera felvételén jól látszik, hogy a gép orral felfelé érkezik a becsapódás pillanatában, majd azonnal felrobban és lángokba borul. A baleset helyszínén a tűzoltók nagy erőkkel vonultak fel, a környéket lezárták, a tüzet pedig sikerült megfékezni.
A hatóságok közlése szerint a gépen tartózkodó négy ember — a pilóta Nelio Pessanham, partnere Renan Saes, valamint Deborah Belanda Ortolani és Luis Antonio Ortolani — a helyszínen meghalt. A becsapódás idején az étterem zárva volt, így a földön nem sérült meg senki.
