Mintegy négyszáz migráns tiltakozott vasárnap a görögországi Rodosz szigetének kikötőjében a forgalmat is megzavarva, azt követelve, hogy szállítsák át őket az ország más részeibe.
A parti őrség tájékoztatása szerint a tiltakozók megakadályozták egy hajó kikötését és egy másik indulását. Többségüket a Földközi-tengeren vették fel a hatóságok, és menedékkérelmük elbírálása céljából vitték őket a szigetre.
A parti őrség szerint azt követelték, hogy vigyék őket azonnal megfelelőbb befogadó központokba vagy Görögország szárazföldi területére. A hatóságok tárgyalásokat kezdtek velük.
Görögországba az év első 8 hónapjában 10 790 menedékkérő érkezett, ami mintegy kétszerese annak, ahányan az előző év azonos időszakában érkeztek az országba.
