Több orosz régióban is gyújtogatásról számoltak be az elnökválasztás első napján, pénteken, írja a Moscow Times helyi portálokra hivatkozva.
Moszkvában egy idősebb nőt vettek őrizetbe, mert fel akart gyújtani egy szavazóhelyiséget. Mint kiderült, a támadás nem érintette a szavazólapokat, a szavazás pedig tovább folytatódott az incidens után.
Szentpéterváron egy fiatal nő Molotov-koktélt dobott egy szavazóhelyiségre, az észak-oroszországi Hanti-Manszi autonóm körzetben pedig szintén egy nő megpróbált felgyújtani egy szavazóurnát, valószínűleg ugyancsak Molotov-koktéllal. Később hasonló esetről számoltak be a moszkvai régióból is.
A gyújtogatásokon kívül országszerte előfordult az is, hogy a választók zöld festéket öntöttek a szavazóurnákba. A hatóságok szerint legalább 13 embert vettek őrizetbe a szavazóhelyiségekben elkövetett vandalizmus miatt.
Ella Pamfilova választási vezető arról beszélt, hogy a festékes incidensek miatt letartóztatottak azt mondták, pénzt ígértek nekik, és nem tudták, hogy tettükért büntetőjogi felelősségre vonás jár.
A hatóságok nem közölték, hogy az akciók Putyin ellen irányultak-e. Az állami média jelentése szerint a szavazás az incidensek ellenére a szokásos menetben folytatódik.
