Amikor a légitársaság felhívta az alkalmazottat, ő azt mondta, egy másik városban van, majd elérhetetlenné vált. A PIA akkor azt mondta, vizsgálatot indított az ügyben, és meg fogja tenni a megfelelő lépéseket, de azóta nincsenek újabb hírek az eset kapcsán.
A légitársaság szóvivője elmondta, hogy értesítették a kanadai bevándorlási hatóságokat, emellett a cég új irányelvet vezetett be, eszerint pedig a legénység útlevelét a kirendeltségvezető tartja magánál az ott tartózkodás ideje alatt, és csak akkor adja vissza, amikor a legénység becsekkol az induló járatra. Emellett a szálloda biztonsági szolgálatát arra kérték, hogy értesítse a PIA-t, ha a személyzet tagjai közül valaki nem jelentkezik be – derül ki az independent.co.uk cikkéből.
