Pakisztánban elfogták egy hírhedt orvos és egy autószerelő vezette szervkereskedő hálózat tagjait – közölte hétfői sajtótájékoztatóján Mohszin Nakvi, Pandzsáb tartomány kormányfője.
Mint mondta, a bűnözők legkevesebb 328 illegális vesetranszplantációt hajtottak végre. A műtétek egy részét magánotthonokban végezték el, olykor a páciensek tudta nélkül.
A rendőrségi vizsgálatok szerint a gyanúsítottak áldozataikat a kórházakból csalogatták el. Favád Muhtár, akit erkölcstelen orvosi gyakorlat miatt már többször őrizetbe vettek, a név szerint nem említett autószerelőt műtéti asszisztensként, illetve aneszteziológusként alkalmazta.
Nakvi szerint a vesék darabját 10 millió rúpiáért (120 ezer dollás) értékesítették.
A szervkereskedő hálózat nyolc tagját tudták őrizetbe venni. A bűnszervezet Pandzsáb keleti részén, illetve Kasmír pakisztáni fennhatóság alatt álló részén működött.
Legkevesebb három olyan emberről tudni, aki belehalt az illegális műtétbe. Nakvi hozzátette: valószínűleg a 328-nál „sokkal több” illegális transzplantációt és műtétet hajtottak végre, de azokra nincs bizonyíték.
Pakisztánban 2010 óta tilos az emberi szervek kereskedelme.
A törvényszegőket tízévi börtönnel és súlyos pénzbüntetésekkel sújtják. A szabályozással a kormány igyekezett megakadályozni, hogy kizsákmányoló közvetítőkön keresztül külföldi vevők jussanak illegálisan szervekhez.
A pandzsábi rendőrség legutóbb januárban jelentette be egy szervkereskedő hálózat felszámolását, miután egy illegális laborban rátaláltak egy eltűntnek nyilvánított 14 éves fiatalra, akinek eltávolították az egyik veséjét.

A férfit Kisszelmencen tartóztatták le, az ukrán–szlovák határnál. Egy ukrán állampolgárságú nőt kísért, aki kész volt eladni egyéves fiát.
Az előzetes információk szerint a férfi nehéz sorsú nőket keresett és rávette őket, hogy adják el gyermeküket. Megszervezte lakhatásukat hotelekben, majd pedig a határátkelőre is elszállította őket. Ott az anyának át kellett kelni a határon, majd át kellett adnia gyermekét a bűnszervezet egyik tagjának a túloldalon. Mindezért az anya 5000 dollárban részesült.
A nyomozás során már több házkutatást is végeztek, melyek során számos tárgyi bizonyítékot foglaltak le. Az ügyben folynak a vizsgálatok, a tettesre 8-tól 15 évig terjedő börtönbüntetés várhat.

Bűnösnek mondta ki csütörtökön egy brit bíróság a nigériai szenátus volt alelnökét és feleségét, akik a vád szerint megszervezték egy nigériai utcai árus Londonba csempészését azzal a céllal, hogy egy ottani kórházban kivetessék a férfi veséjét és azt súlyos vesebetegségben szenvedő lányuknak adományoztassák – közölet a brit Királyi Ügyészség (CPS).
Ők intézték el azt is, hogy a megvezetett férfin egy londoni kórházban 80 ezer fontért (34 millió forint) végrehajtsák a transzplantációs műtétet, hogy az áldozat veséjét 25 éves lányuknak, Soniának adományozhassák.
A sértettel elhitették, hogy munkaügyben viszik a brit fővárosba, amiért a megállapodás értelmében több ezer font üti majd a markát – áll a CPS közleményében.
Az esetre azután derült fény, hogy a sértett a londoni rendőrségen bejelentette: elhurcolták Nigériából, és megpróbálták kivenni a veséjét.
A műtétre végül azért nem került sor, mert a tervezett beavatkozás körülményei miatt a Royal Free Hospital egyik orvosa gyanút fogott, és úgy döntött, hogy nem hajtják végre a transzplantációt.
Joanne Jakymec főügyész nyilatkozatában „förtelmesnek” nevezte az ügyet és elmondta, hogy befolyásukkal élve a vádlottak mindvégig ellenőrzés alatt tartották a szervdonornak kiszemelt áldozatot, akinek semmiféle tekintettel nem voltak egészségi állapotára és szociális helyzetére, miközben ő „csak korlátozottan fogta fel, hogy valójában mi folyik körülötte”.

Afganisztánban mindig is óriási probléma volt a szegénység, tavaly augusztus óta azonban tovább romlott a helyzet. Egyre több afgán kényszerül drasztikus megoldásra: eladja saját szerveit, hogy etetni tudja a családját. A helyzet romlását a tálib hatalomátvétel idézte elő, ugyanis leállították a nemzetközi segélyeket.
„A legtöbb ember aki, eladja a veséjét, előbb-utóbb egészségügyi problémákkal fog szembesülni. Az afgán donorok többsége a szegények közül kerül ki, akik másoknak adják el a veséjüket” – mondja egy afgán belgyógyász.
Afganisztánban mindenkit sújt a szegénység, nemcsak a vidéken élőket. Egy-egy ilyen transzplantáció után az orvosok egy teljes év pihenést javasolnak a donoroknak is, akiknek azonban erre a legritkább esetben van lehetőségük.
„Nem vett rá a lélek, hogy kolduljak, inkább eladtam a vesémet. Így legalább egy ideig el tudom tartani a gyerekeimet” – mondja a 40 éves férfi, akit nemrég engedtek haza a kórházból.
Csakhogy ez nem megoldás. Az ENSZ 5 milliárd dollár segély összegyűjtésébe fogott, hogy segítsen Afganisztánnak elkerülni a humanitárius katasztrófát.

Bulgáriában az egyik állami kórház teljes vezetőségét elbocsátották illegális szervátültetés gyanúja miatt.
A bolgár egészségügyi miniszter közölte, hogy az intézményben az utóbbi két évben 14 esetben hajtottak végre törvénytelenül vesetranszplantációt külföldieken.
„A donorok moldovai és ukrajnai fiatalok voltak, akiknek a veséjét minden esetben az állítólagos rokonaik kapták, gazdag izraeliek, japánok, németek, vagy omániak” – közölte Sztojcso Kazarov.
A miniszter hozzátette, hogy minden okuk megvan feltételezni, hogy a felek nem álltak rokoni kapcsolatban. Utólag több esetben is kiderült, hogy a szervet befogadó beteg hamis igazolványt mutatott fel.
A bolgár törvények szerint élődonoros szervátültetést csak akkor lehet végezni, ha a donor és a befogadó fél rokonok.
