Halálos baleset történt egy népszerű spanyolországi termálforrásnál, amikor sziklák zúdultak a vízben fürdőző emberekre. A sziklaomlás következtében egy kilencéves kislány meghalt, egy fiatal nő pedig súlyosan megsérült.
Sziklaomlás okozott tragédiát a spanyolországi Tarragona közelében található Fontcalda termálforrásnál, amely természeti szépsége miatt a turisták és a helyiek egyik kedvelt fürdőhelye. A szurdok egyik sziklafaláról több hatalmas kőtömb szakadt le, és a rázuhant a vízben fürdőzőkre.
Egy kilencéves kislány olyan súlyosan megsérült, hogy a helyszínre érkező mentők már nem tudták megmenteni az életét.
Egy 24 éves nőt szintén eltaláltak a lezúduló sziklák, őt súlyos állapotban vitték először egy közeli futballpályára, majd onnan mentőhelikopterrel a tarragonai Joan XXIII Egyetemi Kórházba.
A mentés után és miután a helyszínelők befejezték a vizsgálatot, a hatóságok kiemelték a kislány holttestét. Egyelőre nem hozták nyilvánosságra sem az áldozat, sem a sérült nő állampolgárságát, és azt sem közölték, hogy rokoni kapcsolatban álltak-e egymással.
A tragédia mélyen megrázta a szemtanúkat és az áldozat hozzátartozóit, ezért a helyszínen pszichológusok nyújtottak segítséget az érintetteknek. A helyi önkormányzat részvétét fejezte ki a családnak, és két napos gyászt rendelt el – írja a Daily Mail.
A szakemberek ismét felhívták a figyelmet arra, hogy a hegyekkel körülvett természetes fürdőhelyeken mindig fennáll a kőomlás veszélye, különösen a nyári időszakban, amikor sokan keresik fel ezeket a helyeket.

Szerda este sziklaomlás történt a Franciaország délnyugati részén fekvő Biarritzban, egy közkedvelt tengerparti szakasz közelében. A helyi hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint a tengerbe zuhanó sziklafal két embert maga alá temetett – számolt be az MTI .
A baleset egy olyan partszakaszon következett be, amelyet a térséget sújtó kánikula miatt az utóbbi napokban sokan kerestek fel. A helyszínre mentőegységeket vezényeltek, miközben a hatóságok vizsgálják az omlás körülményeit és az esetleges kiváltó okokat. A prefektúra közlése szerint a mentési és helyszínbiztosítási munkálatok azonnal megkezdődtek.
Illusztráció A mintegy 2 ezer négyzetméternyi kőzetomlás a világítótorony közelében, a Miramar nevű partszakaszon este 8 óra után történt a hatóságok közlése szerint. A baleset oka egyelőre nem ismert.
„Az első információk szerint három búvár, akik a környékről származnak, a sziklaomlás idején a sziklafal aljában található területen tartózkodott (…) Két búvárt maga alá temetett a leomlott kőzettömeg” – írta közleményében a prefektúra.
Egy harmadik búvárt „fizikailag épen, de sokkos állapotban” láttak el a mentősök.
A prefektúra éjszaka bejelentette, hogy egy nő holttestét megtalálták a mentőalakulatok, amelyek este 10 óra után a két eltűnt búvár felkutatására indultak.
„Hallottunk egy nagy durranást, és láttuk, ahogy az egész sziklafal megcsúszott és a vízbe zuhant. Egy férfi megúszta, és azt mondta, hogy két ember volt vele” a baleset pillanatában – idézte a Sud-Ouest regionális lap a baleset egyik szemtanúját, aki szerint sokan voltak a szikla mentén a vízben, mivel éppen apály volt.

Egy sziklafalból letört darab zúdult az észak-olaszországi Bolzanóban található Hotel Eberlre kedden – írja a Tageszeitung cikke alapján a HVG.
A tűzoltók elmondása szerint a dél-tiroli szálloda felét betemette a törmelék.
A hotel zárva volt, vendégeket nem fogadott, de a hatóság közlése szerint hét ember, köztük a tulajdonosok az épületben voltak, nekik sikerült biztonságban kijutniuk.
A tűzoltóság még vizsgálja, hogy vannak-e emberek a törmelékek alatt.
Az Euronews január 3-án számolt be egy dél-tiroli tragédiáról. A híroldal szerint egy lavina ölt meg egy házaspárt az olaszországi Schnalstalnál, az áldozatok között volt a Raiffeisen Bank korábbi igazgatója, a 65 éves Michael Gruener és felesége is.

Sziklaomlás miatt egy 50 éves magyar és egy 21 éves grazi nő meghalt és nyolcan megsérültek az ausztriai Stájerország tartományban.
A Graztól északra található Medve-szurdokban (Bärenschützklamm) egy 50 méter magasságban lévő szikladarab tört le. A hatalmas kő ráesett a fából kiépített ösvény lépcsőjére, és leszakította.
Az épp arra járó turistacsoport tagjai közül két nő a mélybe zuhant. A magyar nő a férjével indult túrázni, az ő holttestét a vízesés alól emelték ki. A másik áldozatot közvetlenül találta el a lehulló szikladarab, barátja szemtanúja volt a tragédiának.
Michael Miggitsch, a hegyi mentők tartományi vezetője arról tájékoztatott, hogy a baleset egy vízesés közelében történt. A turisták épp egy mesterségesen kialakított úton haladtak, és mivel az út egyben zsákutca, többnyire fotók készítésének a helyszínéül szolgál.
A mentők munkáját nehezítette, hogy a szoros, amelyen a Mixnitzbach nevű patak keresztülfolyik, nehezen közelíthető meg. A mentést végzőknek a meredek sziklafalakon kellett leereszkedniük, vagy legalább egy órán át kellett evezniük a patakon, hogy a baleset helyszínére jussanak.
A mentésben a rendőrség és a szövetségi hadsereg négy helikoptere is részt vett, a hegyi mentők munkáját pedig az alpesi rendőrség, a vöröskereszt és a tűzoltóság is segítette. Egy felső-stájerországi speciális mentőcsoport működött közre abban, hogy a mentők a jéghideg vízből kiemeljék az egyik szerencsétlenül járt nő holttestét.
A Medve-szurdok Ausztria egyik legnagyobb szurdokvölgye, népszerű hely a túrázók körében. A helyszínt egy időre lezárták.
