Fekete folyadékot öntöttek a Rómában a Fontana della Barcacciába, a leghíresebb olasz szökőkútba a Spanyol lépcső lábánál szombat délben. A három aktivistát – akik az Ultima Generazione (Utolsó generáció) csoport tagjai – a helyi hatóságok előállították. Bár az aktivisták azt állítják, hogy faszén alapú folyadékot öntöttek a szökőkútba, ellenük rongálás miatt emelhetnek vádat.









„Minden hivatalos előrejelzés, még a kormányzati forrásokból származók is elismerik, hogy a kormány nem teszi meg a szükséges intézkedéseket a globális felmelegedés 1,5°C-on belül tartására, ehelyett a legalább 2,5°C-os, katasztrofális növekedés felé vezetnek minket. Emiatt a szélsőséges időjárási események egyre inkább lakhatatlanabbá teszik a földjeinket, az elsivatagosodás és az aszályok száma drámaian növekszik, összeomlik a gazdaság és végül a társadalmak is.



Csak egyetlen módja van, hogy megálljunk ezen a kollektív öngyilkosság felé tartó úton.



Ezzel az akcióval arra kérjük a kormányt, hogy ne fektessen be többé a környezetkárosító beruházásokba, ne nyugodjanak bele ebbe a halálos ítéletbe” – mondták az aktivisták.



A téren megjelent Róma polgármestere is, aki helytelenítette a történteket. Roberto Gualtieri szerint ugyan fontos meghallgatni a jövő generációt, ám:




az elkövetők szerinte nem is fiatalok, hiszen 35 éves is van közöttük,



haszontalan volt a tettük, ostobaság volt az egész,



egy csomó víz ment pocsékba,



a szökőkút is károsodhatott,



az aktivistáknak ki kellene fizetniük a felmerülő költségeket, valamint



szigorú, példás büntetést érdemelnének.
