Az amerikai Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI) szerdán Floridában őrizetbe vett egy hajléktalan férfit, akit azzal vádolnak, hogy házi készítésű bombát tervezett elhelyezni a New York-i tőzsde épületénél, céljaként pedig az „állam új alapokra helyezését” nevezte meg.
Az 1994-ben az Egyesült Államokban született Harun Abdul-Malik Yenert tíz hónapig tartó nyomozás után vették őrizetbe, amelyet az FBI beépített ügynökei folytattak, akiknek a férfi elárulta terveit. Azzal bízta meg őket, hogy keressenek neki házi készítésű bomba megépítéséhez szükséges robbanóanyagot.
A vád szerint a férfi azt mondta az ügynököknek, akik egy milícia tagjainak adták ki magukat, hogy „egy kormányellenes milíciához” akar csatlakozni, és 2015-ben azt is fontolgatta, hogy csatlakozik az Iszlám Állam (IÁ) iraki csoportjához, miután olyan emberek keresték meg, akik azt állították, hogy a dzsihadista szervezethez tartoznak, de végül lemondott erről a szándékáról.
A tervezett támadás helyszínéül a New York-i tőzsdét választotta, mert úgy gondolta, hogy „rengeteg ember támogatná” ötletét. A vádirat szerint úgy mondta: „Azt mondanák magukban, hogy amit ez a fickó csinál, annak van értelme, mert a (tőzsdén) meglopnak minket”.
A hatósági emberek egy raktár átkutatásakor házi készítésű bomba készítéséhez szükséges terveket és elektronikus berendezéseket találtak. Az interneten folytatott keresgélés előzményeiből, az üzenet- és levélváltásokból kiderült, hogy 2017 óta kutatott pokolgép megépítéséhez szükséges információ után.

Christopher Wray, az FBI igazgatója arra figyelmeztetett, hogy még mindig túl sok orosz kém és kémelhárító működik az Egyesült Államokban, annak ellenére is, hogy igyekeznek kirakni őket.

„Elképzelni nem tudom, hogy elvezetett volna Salt Lake Cityig, ott felállít egy puskát és rálő az elnökre. Ez 100 százalékig kizárt”– mondta egy környékbeli.
A férfi ellen a korábbi fenyegető posztjai miatt indult eljárás. Tavaly szeptemberben azt írta a közösségi médiában, hogy „itt az ideje egy elnökgyilkosságnak. Előbb Joe, aztán Kamala!”. Emellett a Donald Trump korábbi elnök elleni vizsgálódó manhattani ügyészeket is fenyegette.
Egyikükről azt írta, hogy megvárja a bíróság parkolójában, és hangtompítós fegyverrel „szép kis lyukat üt a homlokán”. Ez után a fiókját felfüggesztették, majd az FBI is felkereste, és Robertson közölte az ügynökökkel, hogy fenyegetései valójában csak „vágyálmok”, és legközelebb házkutatási parancsot is hozzanak.

Eredménytelenül zárult az amerikai titkosszolgálat nyomozása a Fehér Házban július elején talált kokain ügyében – közölte az elnöki hivatal őrizetét ellátó hatóság csütörtökön.
A titkosszolgálat (Secret Service) közleményt adott ki, miszerint lezárult a nyomozást, amely a fizikai bizonyíték hiányában nem tudta megállapítani, hogy kitől származott a kábítószer. Az egygrammnyi kokaint tartalmazó tasakot július 2-án találták a Fehér Ház nyugati szárnyának bejárata közelében, egy tárolóban, amely személyes elektronikai eszközök átmeneti megőrzésére szolgál.
A közlemény szerint a Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI) laboratóriuma szerdán juttatta el a titkosszolgálathoz a tasakról vett minták vizsgálati eredményét, de sem használható ujjlenyomatot, sem személyazonosság megállapításához elegendő DNS-mintát nem találtak.
A hatóság egy több száz nevet tartalmazó listát állított össze azokról, akiknek hozzáférése volt a területhez, ahol a kábítószert megtalálták, és „módszeresen áttekintette a biztonsági rendszereket és minden jegyzőkönyvet” több napra visszamenőleg.

Egy neve elhallgatását kérő illetékes azt közölte, hogy az intézkedés Viktor Vekszelberg orosz oligarcha, Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök szoros szövetségesének érdekeltségeiben történt.

Viktor Vekszelberg az egyik első orosz milliárdos volt Putyin szövetségesei közül, akit – már 2018 áprilisában – szankciókkal sújtott az Egyesült Államok a Krím 2014-es orosz elcsatolásával összefüggésben. Vekszelberg minden egyesült államokbeli vagyonát zárolták, és az amerikai cégeknek megtiltották, hogy üzleti kapcsolatot tartsanak fenn vele, illetve vállalkozásaival.

A hatósági intézkedésről szóló bírósági végzést és jegyzőkönyvet az igazságügyi miniszter csütörtöki sajtónyilatkozata után hozták nyilvánosságra, több nappal azután, hogy a Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI) házkutatást tartott a floridai házban. Merrick Garland tájékoztatóján úgy fogalmazott, hogy a közvélemény erre irányuló igényét érzékelve kezdeményezte az iratok nyilvánosságát.

A Fox News hírcsatornán pénteken megjelentetett bírósági végzésből kiderül, hogy azt múlt szombaton, augusztus 5-én írta alá egy bíró, Bruce Reinhart, amivel felhatalmazást adott az FBI-nak, hogy a floridai ingatlant, annak minden helyiségét átkutassák, amelyet Donald Trump és munkatársai használnak. A végzés azt is tartalmazta, hogy az intézkedést augusztus 19-én, vagy azt megelőzően, reggel 6 és este 10 óra közötti időszakban folytathatja le a hatóság, és ott minden fizikai formában létező, és egyéb bizonyítékként használható adathordozót lefoglalhatnak, amelyen illegális adatok tárolhatók.
A nyomozók által készített jegyzőkönyv szerint 20 doboznyi iratot foglaltak le. Ezek között szerepelnek minősített iratok, köztük szigorúan titkos, titkos és bizalmas jelzésű dokumentumok, úgynevezett TS/SCI (Top Secret/Sensitive Information) iratok. A jegyzőkönyvből kiderült, hogy az FBI magával vitt egy „bőrkötésű dobozt is”, benne fotóalbumokkal, kézzel írott jegyzetekkel, és különböző egyéb, minősített és titkos iratokkal.
A hírcsatorna összefoglalója szerint Donald Trump és csapata vitatja az iratok minősített voltát, ugyanis a volt elnök a hivatalából történt távozása előtt feloldotta azok minősítését.
A Washington Post című napilap helyi idő szerint péntek reggel saját értesülésre hivatkozva azt írta, hogy atomfegyverekre vonatkozó minősített iratokról is szó volt a házkutatás során. A nyilvánosságra hozott dokumentumokból erre vonatkozó információ nem derült ki.
Közben New Yorkban véglegessé vált, hogy október 24-én kezdődik a Trump vállalkozás bírósági tárgyalása az esküdtek kiválasztásával. Az ügyben eljáró bíró egy meghallgatáson elutasította a Trump Szervezet (Trump Organization) és korábbi pénzügyi vezetője, Allen Weisselberg kérését az adócsalás vádjának ejtésére.
