„Miután a kormányhivatalok megerősítették, hogy terrortámadást terveznek az Ernst Happel Stadionban, nincs más választásunk, mint hogy lemondjuk a három tervezett koncertet mindenki biztonsága érdekében – írta a Barracuda.music, Swift ausztriai koncertjeinek promótere az Instagramon közzétett bejegyzésében, hozzátéve, hogy minden jegyet automatikusan visszatérítenek 10 munkanapon belül. Swift három koncertet adott volna Bécsben augusztus 8-án, 9-én és 10-én.
Az osztrák rendőrség szerdán őrizetbe vett két embert, akiket azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy koncertek elleni merényleteket terveztek – közölte Franz Ruf közbiztonsági főigazgató szerda este sajtótájékoztatón a Reuters tudósítása szerint.
A CNN arról számolt be közben, hogy a rendőrség ismertetése szerint szerda reggel az alsó-ausztriai Ternitzben letartóztattak egy 19 éves osztrák állampolgárt, akit az Iszlám Állam szimpatizánsaként azonosítottak, míg egy másik letartóztatásra még aznap délelőtt Bécsben került sor.
„A két gyanúsított az interneten radikalizálódott, egy 19 éves alsó-ausztriai állampolgár július elején tett hűségesküt az IS jelenlegi vezetőjének” – közölte a rendőrség. A hatóságok értékelése szerint a két gyanúsított „konkrét előkészítő intézkedéseket” tett egy terrortámadásra, miután a rendőrség gyanúja szerint a gyanúsított ternitz-i otthonában robbanóanyagot tároltak.
A nyomozás jelenlegi állása szerint feltételezzük, hogy a támadás célpontja a Bécs környéki események voltak – folytatta a rendőrség.
Gerhard Pürstl bécsi rendőrfőkapitány arról beszélt a BBC szerint, hogy a koncertekre naponta 65 ezer embert vártak, valamint 22 ezer rajongót a stadion körül. A nyomozások tovább folynak.
