Az adás során a száműzetésben élő Reza Pahlavi koronaherceg is nyíltan felszólította az iráni fegyveres erőket, hogy disszidáljanak és buktassák meg Ali Khamenei ajatollah hatalmát – számolt be a Die Weltwoche.
A rezsimhez hű propaganda helyett olyan jelszavakat sugároztak, mint a „Döntsük meg az ajatollahot!”.
A hatalomátvételről készült videók gyorsan elterjedtek az interneten.
A kibertámadás kínos a teheráni vezetés számára, mivel az állami televízió az egyik legfontosabb eszközük a hatalom megtartásához. A felvételek szerint időnként nemzetközi politikusokat is mutattak a tévében, köztük Friedrich Merz német kancellárt, aki korábban szolidaritását fejezte ki az iráni tüntetőkkel.

Egy helyi tévétársaság két munkatársa halt meg szombaton Kabulban, amikor az út mentén elhelyezett pokolgép robbant fel a gépkocsijuk mellett – közölte az afgán belügyminisztérium.
Négy további ember megsérült. 2019 szeptemberében ugyanennek a csatornának, a Hurszid TV-nek szintén két munkatársa halt meg egy hasonló merényletben Kabulban.
A robbantás elkövetőjeként eddig egyetlen csoport sem jelentkezett.
Kabulban az iszlám szélsőséges tálibok és az Iszlám Állam terrorszervezet is aktív, miközben az afgán kormány és a tálibok közötti konfliktus, melynek a biztonsági erők és a polgári lakosság körében egyaránt vannak áldozatai, főként a tartományokban zajlik.
Az Egyesült Államok február 29-én Dohában az országot 1996-tól 2001 őszéig uraló szélsőséges iszlamista tálibokkal megállapodást írt alá. Ennek értelmében az amerikai és a velük szövetséges békefenntartó erőket fokozatosan kivonják Afganisztánból, a kabuli kormány fogolycserét hajt végre a tálibokkal, és a tálibok béketárgyalásokat kezdenek a központi kormányzattal, amellyel eddig nem voltak hajlandóak tárgyalóasztalhoz ülni, mert az amerikaiak bábjának tekintették azt.
