Mintegy hatezer liter olaj ömlött az Északi-tengerbe a németországi Cuxhaven kikötővárosnál, ahol két hajó összeütközött – közölte szerdán a Tengerészeti Vészhelyzeti Parancsnokság.
A közlemény szerint a balesetben személyi sérülést nem jelentettek. A műszaki mentőszolgálat és a tűzoltóság munkatársai úszó olajgátakat állítottak fel, hogy megakadályozzák az olajfolt terjedését a vízben.
A 69 méter hosszú Capella tartályhajó szerdán reggel ütközött össze az olajfúró tornyok utánpótlását szállító 44 méteres Coastal Legenddel. A balesetben a Coastal Legend sérülése miatt ömlött olaj a tengerbe.
Az egyelőre nem derült ki, hogy a két hajó hogyan ütközhetett össze.
A cuxhaveni központi parancsnokság szóvivője elmondta, hogy becsléseik szerint mintegy hatezer liter olaj került a tengerbe. Hozzátette, hogy a kikötőben már amúgy is volt olaj a vízben, de – mint mondta – „minden csepp olaj, ami belekerül, már túl sok”.

Egy brit tengerész eltűnt a tengeren a hétvégén, miután jachtját összetörte a Franciaország délnyugati partján tomboló vihar.
A 73 éves tengerész keresése akkor kezdődött, amikor a vihar elérte Franciaország nyugati részét.
A francia Országos Meteorológiai Szolgálat január 27-én, hétfőn vörös riasztást adott ki a francia Ille-et-Vilaine megyére, mivel áradásveszély fenyegetett.
Az Atlanti-óceáni tengerészeti hatósága tájékoztatása szerint a jacht rádiójeleit szombaton, január 26-án találták meg körülbelül 80 km-re nyugatra a francia Lakano településtől. A helyszínre küldött helikopter megtalálta a jachtot is.
A helikopter fedélzetére két búvárt szállítottak, akik üres mentőcsónakra bukkantak. A férfi keresését több sikertelen próbálkozás után felfüggesztették.

A hajó fedélzetén lévő huszonhárom fős legénységet kimentették, de még nem világos, hogy pontosan hányan sérültek meg a tűzben.
A partiőrség közleménye szerint a hajó 180 km-re volt Amszterdamtól, amikor a tűz keletkezett.
A teherhajó 2857 autót szállított Németországból Egyiptomba, amelyek közül 25 elektromos volt.
Mint később kiderült a hajón lévő egyik elektromos autó okozta a tüzet – közölte a holland partiőrség szóvivője.
A hajón keletkezett tüzet még nem sikerült eloltani, a mentőszolgálatok a helyszínen tartózkodnak.

A kábítószert tartalmazó, mintegy hetven, nagyobb méretű csomagot háló fogta össze: a szállítmányt vízhatlan réteg borította, és bóják biztosították, hogy ne süllyedjen el. A hatósági becslés szerint a piacon mintegy 400 millió eurót érő drogszállítmányt a pénzügyőrség légi járőregységei azonosították a hálókra rögzített fényjelzőket észlelve a tengeren.
A hatóságok közlése szerint a drogot egy teherhajóról eresztették vízre, és a part közelében az olasz szervezett bűnözés halászta volna ki, de a pénzügyőrség gyorsabbnak bizonyult.

A tunéziai parti őrség eddig 25 illegális bevándorló holttestét emelte ki egy közelben elsüllyedt hajóroncsból – számoltak be helyi illetékesek csütörtökön.
A fából készült, Tunézia nevű hajón körülbelül 110-en tartózkodtak, amikor Szfaksz város partjai közelében szerdán a szerencsétlenség érte. 76 embert sikerült kimenteni. A halottak között van a hajó tunéziai kapitánya, valamint férfiak és nők különböző afrikai országokból – közölték illetékesek.
A hajó Líbiában vette fel utasait, ahonnan jelentős számban indulnak útnak afrikai és közel-keleti migránsok a jobb élet reményében Olaszország, Európa irányába.
Uniós adatok szerint 2023 első három hónapjában háromszor annyian próbálkoztak az Európai Unióba jutni, mint egy évvel korábban. Ugyanakkor ezt az időszakot az ENSZ migrációs szerve 2017 óta a legtöbb halálos áldozatot követelő negyedévként jellemezte.
A tunéziai Nemzeti Gárda áprilisban közölte, hogy több mint 14 ezer, többségében a szubszaharai régióból származó migránst fogtak el, vagy mentettek meg ez év első 3 hónapjában útban Európa felé. Ez ötszöröse az elmúlt év azonos időszakában kezelt eseteknek.

A 43 éves Mohd Zaidi Camry Abdullah kapitány és a legénység három tagja, a 25 éves Muhammad Herman Arpat, a 44 éves Sinasi Badu és a 40 éves Frenky Daud Amin rögtönzött „mentőcsónakot” épített két ládából, amiben korábban a zsákmányukat tárolták, hogy megmenekülhessenek, miután hajójuk egy viharban süllyedni kezdett – írja a Daily Mail.
A négy férfi ezután élelmiszert és vizet vett magához és elhagyták a süllyedő hakót.
A halászoknak négy nap után elfogyott az ivóvizük, ezért esővizet kezdtek el gyűjteni, hogy ne haljanak szomjan.
A négy férfi kálváriája öt nap után ért véget, amikor egy arra járó hajó mentette meg őket körülbelül 40 kilométerre onnan, ahol elsüllyedt a hajójuk.
Halászokat orvosi ellátásban részesítették, mivel eléggé ki voltak száradva, de ettől eltekintve a körülményekhez képes jó egészségi állapotban voltak.

Szerhij Bratcsuk, a megyei katonai adminisztráció vezetője augusztus 15-én este közölte a hírt: a történtek során megsérült személy is életét vesztette.
Az eset a Bilhorod-Dnyisztrovszki járásban történt. A férfiak figyelmen kívül hagyták az aknaveszéllyel kapcsolatos jelzéseket, az információk szerint mindannyian egy építkezésen dolgoztak. Az áldozatok 25, 32 és 53 évesek voltak, Csernyihiv, Zaporizzsja és Zsitomir megyei lakosok.

Helikopterrel mentették ki egy holland teherhajó 12 fős legénységét a Norvég-tengerről hétfőn – írja a The Guardian. Az Eemslift Hendrika a németországi Bremerhavenből tartott a norvégiai Kolvereidbe, amikor a viharos idő miatt elmozdult a rakománya, ezért a hajó megdőlt.
A norvég mentőszolgálatok még aznap megkezdték a mentést: nyolc embert a hajó fedélzetéről húztak fel, négyen azonban a viharos tengerbe ugrottak, őket a vízből mentették ki.
A hatóságok egy videót is közzétettek a drámai mentésről, a felvételen látható, ahogy az egyik narancssárga mentőmellényben lévő tengerész a vízbe ugrik.
A hajónak a motorja is meghibásodott, ezért a norvég partok felé sodródik, kedd reggelre már körülbelül 130 kilométerre volt Alesundtól. A hatóság egyik illetékese a lapnak azt mondta, hogy amint az időjárás engedi, szeretnének valakit a hajó fedélzetére feljuttatni, hogy előkészítse a vontatását.
A hajót üzemeltető holland társaság már megkereste a Smit Salvage nevű vállalatot, amely részt vett a Szuezi-csatornán beragadt hajó mentésében is.
