Tennessee állam főügyészének kezdeményezésére 20 amerikai tagállam pert indított a baloldali Biden kormány ellen, mert állásfoglalásuk szerint a kormányzati ügynökségek törvénytelen módon értelmezték a szövetségi diszkrimináció ellenes törvényeket, mely lehetővé tette többek között azt, hogy a magukat nőknek képzelő férfiak részt vehessenek a női sportokban.
A sajátos és kiforgatott jogi értelmezéseknek köszönhetően a női sportolók drámai helyzetbe kerülhetnek, hiszen az Egyesült Államokban a szegényebb nők számára az egyetlen esély az egyetemi felvételre a sportösztöndíj, amit a magukat nőknek képzelő férfiak a jobb sportteljesítmény miatt elvehetnek tőlük. A per azt is megakadályozná többek között, hogy a diákok a biológiai neműknek ellentétes öltözőket, mosdókat használhassák.
A The Daily Wire cikke szerint, Herbert Slatery, Tennessee állam főügyészészének a kezdeményezésére, 20 amerikai tagállam pert indított a Biden-kormány ellen, mivel álláspontjuk szerint, a törvénytelen jogi értelmezések tették lehetővé azt, hogy a magukat nőknek képzelő biológiai férfiak is részt vehessenek a női sportokban.
A több államot átfogó koalíciónak a tagja Tennessee, Alabama, Alaszka, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Dél-Karolnia és Nyugat-Virginia. A per sikere esetén megakadályoznák azt, hogy a szövetségi kormány országszerte kényszeríteni tudja az iskolai tankerületeket arra, hogy engedélyezzék azt, hogy a diákok a biológiai identitásukkal ellentétes iskolai létesítményeket használhassanak, illetve nemükkel ellentétes sportcsapatokban sportolhassanak.
A jogvita elsősorban az Egyenlő Foglalkoztatási Esélyek Bizottságát (EEOC) és az Oktatási Minisztériumot célozza, amelyek a felperes államok szerint a szövetségi diszkrimináció ellenes törvényeket progresszíven és ellentmondásosan értelmezik. A felperes államok szerint az olyan rendkívüli vitatható, helyi vonatkozású kérdések, mint a biológiai férfiak női sportcsapatokban való részvétele, a biológiai nemmel ellentétes öltözők és mosdók használata vagy a preferált névmás használatának előírása nem a különböző kormányhivatalok hatáskörébe tartozik, hanem kizárólag a szövetségi törvényhozás írhatja elő az erre vonatkozó törvények meghozatala révén, tehát a Biden kormányzat szerintük törvénytelenül járt el amikor az iskolákat a kérdéses LMBTQ-intézkedések meghozatalára kényszerítették.
Az LMBTQ-lobbi számára rendkívül kedvező előírások Joe Biden „A nemi identitás vagy szexuális irányultság alapján történő megkülönböztetés megelőzéséről és leküzdéséről” szóló elnöki rendeletéből eredeztethető. Biden progresszív intézkedése nagyban hozzájárult a szexuális irányultság újradefiniálásához, amely az említett rendeletnek köszönhetően magába foglalja újabban a nemi identitást is.

Az óriási LMBTQ nyomulás miatt a nyugat-virginiai törvényhozás mindkét kamarája megszavazta azt a törvényt, amelynek értelmében a középiskolás és főiskolás transzneműek nem vehetnek részt a biológiai nemükkel ellentétes sportcsapatokban. Az intézkedés elsősorban a női sportolók védelme érdekében született, akik a magukat nőknek képzelő férfiak miatt óriási hátrányba kerülhetnek. Az Egyesült Államokban a hátrányos helyzetű nők számára az egyetlen esélyt az egyetemi felvételre a sportösztöndíj jelenti. Az állami törvényt júliusban felfüggesztette egy bíró, mivel egy transznemű személy beperelte az államot egy LMBTQ-jogvédő szervezet segítségével és így engedélyezni kell a biológiai férfiak részvételét a női sportokban, ha ők úgy érzik, hogy nők.
A nyugat-virginiai esethez hasonlóan transzneműek LMBTQ-szervezetekkel közösen beperelték Tennessee államot, mert nemrég törvénybe foglalták, hogy a diákoknak a biológiai nemükkel megegyező öltözőt és mosdót kell használniuk. Ez a transzneműek szerint diszkrimináló intézkedés.

Egy fegyveres miatt a Nemzeti Gárda helyi fegyverraktárába evakuálták a diákokat és a tanárokat az amerikai Tennessee állam egyik középiskolájából – jelentette kedden az amerikai sajtó.
A Hawkins megyei seriff hivatalának illetékesei elmondták, hogy a Kingsporttól nyugatra található középiskolát reggel 8 óra körül lezárták, miután a rendőrség bejelentéseket kapott egy, az intézmény területén lőfegyvert viselő személyről.
Vészhelyzet alakult ki az Önkéntes Középiskolában. Jelenleg leginkább a diákjaink és a személyzet biztonsága miatt aggódunk. Kérjük, maradjanak távol a helyszíntől, hogy a bűnüldöző szervek és a mentők hozzáférhessenek a területhez! – áll a Hawkins megyei iskolák közleményében.
A megyei seriffhivatal azt közölte a Facebookon, hogy senki sem sérült meg az eset során, a gyanúsítottat pedig továbbra is keresik.
Az egyik helyi televíziótársaság arról számolt be: a Hawkins megyei mentőszolgálat tisztviselői megerősítették, hogy több mentőautó volt az iskolában, ahonnan több beteget is elszállítottak a helyszínről. A riport azonban nem közölt részleteket a sérülésekről.

Bill Lee republikánus kormányzó által májusban aláírt törvény megköveteli, hogy az iskolák biztosítsanak külön mellékhelyiséget azoknak az embereknek, akik nem akarják vagy nem tudják igénybe venni a biológiai nemüknek megfelelő helyiségeket.
A benyújtott kereset szerint, a törvény megsértette az oktatási törvényt, ami tiltja a nemi alapú megkülönböztetést a szövetségi támogatású oktatási intézményekben. Továbbá azt állítják, hogy a törvény sérti az Egyesült Államok alkotmányának egyenlőségről szóló részeit.
