A kaliforniai 9. kerületi fellebbviteli bíróság arra kötelezte a nőt, hogy fizessen meg a volt elnöknek további 121 ezer dollárnyi jogi költségét, amely a nő sikertelen rágalmazási pere során merült fel. Ehhez jönnek még a Trump javára hozott korábbi ítéletek költségei is, amelyek összességében körülbelül 500 ezer dollárt tettek ki, vagyis a felnőttfilmes már körülbelül 600 ezer dollárral tartozik Trumpnak jogi költségek címén.

A New York Manhattan városrészében – az amerikai exelnök tulajdonában álló és a nevét viselő Trump Tower irodaépülettől nem messze – megtartott tárgyaláson harmincnégy vádpontot soroltak fel Donald Trump ellen, aki akár 136 év éves börtönbüntetést is kaphat.
Trumpot a kampányfinanszírozási szabályok megsértésével vádolták, ezek szerint 2016-ban a kampány során – ügyvédjén keresztül – pénzt juttatott el Stormy Daniels felnőttfilmesnek annak érdekében, hogy a nő a nyilvánosság előtt hallgasson a közötte és Trump között feltételezett korábbi intim együttlétről.

Juan Merchan szövetségi bíró a következő tárgyalási napot 2023. december 4-re tűzte ki, a további tárgyalás pedig 2024. januárjában kezdődhet, amely egybeesik az amerikai előválasztások kezdetével.
