A libériai elnökválasztás győztesét ünneplő tömegbe hajtott Monroviában egy gépkocsi hétfő este. A sajtóértesülések szerint legkevesebb tíz ember meghalt és húszan megsebesültek.
A tájékoztatás szerint a Joseph Boakai győzelmét ünneplő emberek az újonnan megválasztott államfő pártja, az Egyesülés Párt (UP) épületénél gyűltek össze, amikor az autó közéjük hajtott. A sofőr ezután motorbiciklin menekült el.
A nyugat-afrikai országban november 14-én tartották az elnökválasztás második fordulóját, melyet a hétfőn közzétett eredmények szerint Joseph Boakai nyert a voksok 50,64 százalékával.
Legalább 11 ember megsérült, közülük négyen súlyosan, miután gyalogosok közé hajtott egy autós szombaton kora este a franciaországi Berck-sur-Mer város egyik utcájában – jelentette a helyi sajtó. Az ország északi részén található településen a nemzetközi sárkányeregető fesztivált tartanak, amire több százezer látogató érkezik a világ minden részéről.
A francia sajtóban megjelent beszámolók szerint az autót egy idős sofőr vezette, aki automata váltós járműben véletlenül összekeverte a gázpedált és a fékpedált. Egy szemtanú elmondása szerint a jármű „teljes gázzal gyorsított”, miközben balra kanyarodott egy utcába, majd felment a járdára, és egymás után ütötte el az embereket.
Egy másik szemtanú közlése szerint az utcák teli voltak emberekkel, akik a fesztivált helyszínére igyekeztek, hozzátéve, hogy éppen át akarta kelni az utcán, amikor „tompa puffanásokat” hallottak, ahogy pár méterre tőlük egymás után ütötte el a sofőr az embereket.
A helyi hatóságok közölték, hogy balesetként kezelik az eset. A négy súlyos sérült mind nő, közülük kettőt mentőhelikopterrel kellett kórházba szállítani. Pontos állapotukról egyelőre nem közöltek részleteket.

Az őrizetbe vettek mind azt állították, hogy rájuk lőttek, ám erre egyelőre nem találtak semmilyen bizonyítékot a nyomozók. Autójukban mintegy ötezer euróra bukkantak. Az eset Berlin nyugati részének központjában történt, egy bevásárlónegyedben, a Vilmos császár emléktemplom (Gedächtniskirche) és a Ku’damm közelében.
A beszámolók szerint a jármű felhajtott a járdára, elgázolt több embert, aztán visszatért az úttestre, majd nagyjából 100 méter után ismét a járdára hajtott és végül egy parfüméria kirakatát áttörve állt meg.
A jármű egy ezüstszínű Renault kisautó.
A német főváros rendőrségének első közleménye szerint a járművet vezető férfit őrizetbe vették.
Egyelőre nem tudni, hogy baleset történt, vagy szándékos gázolás – írták.
A rendőrség és a mentőszolgálat nagy erőkkel vonult a helyszínre, mentőhelikoptert is bevetettek. A környéket lezárták.
Menczer Tamás, a Külgazdasági és Külügyminisztérium államtitkára az MTI-t arról tájékoztatta, hogy a nagykövetség munkatársai már kapcsolatban vannak a rendőrséggel, egyelőre nincs információjuk arról, hogy lenne magyar érintettje a gázolásnak.

A kisteherautó sofőrje úgy tett, mint ha ő is fel akarna vonulni, de amikor közölték vele, hogy ő következik, gázt adott és az emberek közé hajtott – mondta a Wilton Manorstól délre fekvő Fort Lauderdale polgármestere, Dean Trantalis.
Az autó vezetőjét őrizetbe vették. A rendőrség egyelőre nem közölt részleteket, és arról sem nyilatkozott, hogy szándékos tettről van-e szó.
– Ez terrortámadás volt az LMBT-közösség ellen – jelentette ki Trantalis. Csak erről lehet szó, ez aligha volt baleset – tette hozzá a polgármester.
– Két embert, akik az elfogadás és az egyenlőség mellett álltak ki, eltalált egy autó. A tragédia tőlem és az embereimtől néhány méterre történt. Letaglóz, hogy ilyennek kellett tanúi legyünk – hangoztatta Gregory Tony megyei seriff.
