Az Európai Mediterrán Szeizmológiai Központ (EMSC) honlapján szereplő adatok szerint a földrengés epicentruma 16 kilométerre a 81 ezer lakosú Elbistántól délnyugatra volt, 2 kilométeres mélységben.
Az elsőt több kisebb utórengés követte.

Február 6-án két erős, 7,7 és 7,6 erősségű földrengés volt Törökország délkeleti részén. A katasztrófa következtében csaknem 50 ezren haltak meg. A földrengés okozta károkat közel 100 milliárd dollárra becsülik.

Csütörtökön 5,3-as erősségű földrengés rázta meg a dél-törökországi Kahramanmaras tartományt, amely február 6-án két nagyon erős, hatalmas pusztítást eredményező földrengés központja volt – jelentette az NTV török hírtelevízió a török katasztrófavédelem (AFAD) közleményére hivatkozva.
A beszámoló szerint a mostani földrengés fészke a tartomány Göksun körzetében volt 7 kilométer mélyen.
Az utórengés, amelyet a környező tartományokban is érezni lehetett, ezúttal csak rövid aggodalmat keltett a helyiekben. Az AFAD elnöke, Yunus Sezer azt mondta, hogy a földmozgást követően nem keletkeztek újabb károk – értesült az MTI.
A február 6-i törökországi földrengések még Szíria északnyugati részén is emberek ezreinek életét követelték. Törökországban legkevesebb 50 ezren haltak meg a természeti csapás következtében, miközben milliók hagyták el a térséget vagy váltak földönfutóvá.
Nem ez volt az első eset a katasztrófa óta
Az utóbbi hetekben számtalan alkalommal rengett a föld Törökországban. Március 7-én a délelőtti órákban 4,6-os erősségű földrengés volt Közép-Törökországban, a rengés epicentruma öt kilométeres mélységben volt.
Az ENSZ Fejlesztési Programjának (UNDP) törökországi irodavezetője szerint immáron a százmilliárd dollárt (35,45 ezermilliárd forintot) is meghaladják a törökországi földrengés okozta károk.
Február 27-én több földrengést is jelentettek Törökországból, ezek közül éjjel három óra előtt nem sokkal egy 4,9-es erősségűt, de a térségből több jelentés is érkezett 3-as, 3,3-es és 3,6-os erősségű rengésekről.
A későbbiekben újabb, közepesen erős utórengés rázta meg Törökország déli részét. A Richter-skála szerinti 5,6-os erősségű földmozgás epicentruma a Malatya tartományban található Yesilyurt település közelében volt. Egy haláleset mellett száztíz sérültről és 29 összedőlt épületről lehet tudni.

ENSZ: Törökországban a károk meghaladják a százmilliárd dollárt is
A jelenleg Törökországban tartózkodó Luisa Vinton videókonferencián apokaliptikusnak minősítette a földrengés által leginkább sújtott dél-törökországi Hatay tartományban uralkodó állapotokat, aláhúzva, hogy házak százezrei semmisültek meg a katasztrófában.
„Sok a szükség és nagyon kevés a rendelkezésre álló eszköz” – jelentette ki Vinton, aki elmondta azt is, hogy bár ez az összeg is csak előzetes becslés, egyelőre ennyiről rendeznek adományozó konferenciát március 16-án Brüsszelben.
A február 6-i, Törökország és Szíria határvidékét sújtó földrengésben több mint 52 ezren vesztették életüket, rengeteg embert álmában ért a halál.

Törökországban a mentőegységek élve emeltek ki egy kutyát a romok alól, amely a február 6-i földrengést követően 23 napig volt ott – számolt be a Jevropejszka pravda a török DHA ügynökségre hivatkozva.
Az Alex névre hallgató kutyát a Hatay tartományban található Antakyában mentették ki, miután a mentők meghallották a hangját. A gazdáját már megtalálták. A kutyát egy állatorvosi klinikára szállították kivizsgálásra és rehabilitációra.

Az ukrán katasztrófavédelem mentőalakulatai is részt vesznek a mentési munkálatokban Törökországban, ezt jelentette be a katasztrófavédelem szóvivője. Olekszandr Korunzsij hétfőn azt mondta, olyan földrengés, mint ami Törökország déli részét és Szíria északi részét rázta meg február 6-án, száz évente egyszer fordul elő. Azt is mondta, hogy ez eddig a legnagyobb mentőakció, amiben az ukrán alakulatok részt vesznek.
Ukrajna összesen 87 speciális mentőt, 10 kutyás csapatot és a kutatáshoz és romeltakarításhoz használt eszközöket küldött Törökországba.
A mentők kisebb része repülővel érkezett a helyszínre, a nagyobb, 52 fős csapat pedig Moldován és Bulgárián keresztül közúton utazott Törökországba. Korunzsi szerint a mentőknek 3000 kilométert kellett utaznia Kijevből.
Törökországban és Szíriában időközben több mint 48 ezerre emelkedett a február 6-i földrengések halálos áldozatainak a száma, a katasztrófában 185 ezer épület dőlt össze, vagy szenvedett komoly károkat. Február 6 óta több utórengés is volt, hétfőn például egy ilyen rengés újabb, korábban megrongálódott épületeket döntött össze, újabb embereket temetve a romok alá. (Ukraine Media Center)

Az ország déli részén pusztító földrengés során összeomlott épületekkel kapcsolatos hanyag munkavégzés gyanújával már több mint 600 ember ellen indult eljárás – közölte szombaton Diyarbakirban tartott sajtótájékoztatóján Bekir Bozdag török igazságügyi miniszter.
Gaziantep tartomány Nurdagi járásának polgármesterét szintén előállították – jelentette az MTI szerint az Anadolu török állami hírügynökség. A polgármester, Ökkes Kavak a kormányzó Igazság és Fejlődés Pártjának (AKP) tagja. Ellene az építkezések felülvizsgálatának elmulasztása a vád.
A több mint húsz éve hatalmon lévő Recep Tayyip Erdogan török elnök kormányát heves bírálatok érték a túl enyhe építkezési szabványok miatt, amelyek hozzájárulhattak a több mint 44 ezer törökországi halálos áldozathoz. A tizenegy török tartományban pusztító február 6-i földmozgások és az őket követő, csaknem tízezer utórengés során a kormány adatai szerint több mint 173 ezer épület rongálódott meg, és majd kétmillióan maradtak fedél nélkül.
Szombaton újabb, 5,2-es erősségű földrengés rázta meg a közép-anatóliai Nigde tartományt – közölte a Kandilliben működő földrengés-megfigyelő központ. Epicentruma Bor járásban, a február eleji földrengések sújtotta török–szíriai határtól 350 kilométerre nyugatra volt.
A szíriai Nemzeti Földrengés Központ szombaton közölte, az elmúlt 24 órában 61 új utórengést észleltek, amelyek gyengék voltak. Szombaton első ízben Irak északi részén is észleltek két, 4-es erősséget meghaladó földmozgást: az elsőt Ninive tartományban, a másodikat Erbílben, Kurdisztán autonóm terület székhelyén – közölte az INA iraki állami hírügynökség. Károkról és sérülésekről nem érkeztek jelentések.

Törökországban 41 156-ra emelkedett a február 6-i földrengések halálos áldozatainak a száma – közölte hétfői sajtótájékoztatóján a török katasztrófavédelem (AFAD) elnöke, Yunus Sezer.
Sezer az AFAD ankarai központjában felszólalva arról is beszámolt, hogy a sérültek száma a jelen állás szerint 114 834.
Hozzátette: 15 helyszínen még most is túlélők után kutatnak a mentőegységek, túlnyomó többségében a dél-törökországi Hatay tartományban. Legutóbb szombaton, a mentési munkálatok 13. napján hoztak ki túlélőket a romok alól. Három ember, köztük egy gyerek életét 296 óra után sikerült megmenteni Hatayban.
Murat Kurum török városfejlesztési miniszter hétfőn a szintén földrengés sújtotta Gaziantep tartományba látogatott. Később újságíróknak nyilatkozva azt mondta: nem a földdel egyenlővé tett régi települések helyére építik fel az újakat, hanem máshol alakítják ki őket.
A talaj minőségétől függően a völgyekből a hegyek felé költöznek, a törésvonalaktól távolabbi helyekre. Kiemelte továbbá hogy az épületek magassága nem fogja meghaladni a 4-5 szintet, a lakóházak földszintjét pedig nem lehet majd üzlethelyiségként használni.
A török hatóságok február 6. óta 6414 utórengést regisztráltak az érintett térségben.

A február 6-i dél-törökországi földrengések mentési munkálatainak 12. napján is hoztak fel túlélőket Törökországban a romok alól – jelentette pénteken az Anadolu török állami hírügynökség. Süleyman Soylu török belügyminiszter közölte: eddig csaknem 40 ezer halottja van a katasztrófának.
A beszámoló szerint Hatay tartomány Defne körzetében a legutóbb a 278. órában mentettek ki egy 45 éves férfit. A nap folyamán korábban, a 261. órában Hatay Antakya körzetében egy 26 éves és egy 34 éves férfit hoztak a felszínre.
Az idősebbik férfi, Mustafa Avci később a kórházban találkozott a feleségével és az éppen 12 napos kislányával.
Ők épségben vészelték át az első nagy hajnali földrengést, miután máshol tartózkodtak az épületen belül.
Az NTV török hírtelevízió szerint Avci a kórházban azt mondta: semmi reménye nem volt, és mivel azt gondolta, hogy a családja meghalt, nem is akart kijönni, de nagyon boldog, hogy látja őket. „Nagyon boldogok vagyunk, elvesztettük a reményünket, még mindig nem hisszük el, hogy él” – mondta a felesége.
Az Anadolu összesítése alapján a mentés 187. órája óta 21 ember életét mentették meg a mentőcsapatok. Fuat Oktay török alelnök pénteken leszögezte, hogy az utolsó pillanatig folytatják a túlélők utáni kutatást. Hozzátette: valamivel kevesebb, mint 200 helyszínen továbbra is folyik a keresés.
A földrengés sújtotta dél- és délkelet-törökországi tartományokban február 6-a előtt mintegy 13,5 millióan éltek. Az Anadolu úgy tudja, azóta nagyjából 721 ezren hagyták el a térséget, és találtak ideiglenes szállásra máshol. Messze a legtöbben, 140 ezren Antalya tartományba mentek.
Süleyman Soylu belügyminiszter péntek késő este azt közölte, hogy tovább emelkedett a halálos áldozatok száma, jelen állás szerint legkevesebb 39 672-en vesztették életüket a szerencsétlenségben, míg a sebesültek száma 108 068.

Kedden átlépte a negyvenezret a múlt hétfői törökországi földrengések halálos áldozatainak a száma.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan török elnök kedden az államfői kabinet ülése utáni sajtótájékoztatóján közölte: Törökországban legkevesebb 35 418 ember vesztette életét a szerencsétlenségben. Szíriában 5900 halottról tudni.
Erdogan felszólalásában elmondta, hogy a sérültek közül 13 208-at továbbra is kórházban ápolnak. A török katasztrófavédelem (AFAD) adatai szerint 105 505-en sebesültek meg a február 6-i földrengések következtében.
A török államfő rámutatott: minden szakértő egyetért abban, hogy kivételes természeti esemény történt, amellyel a legerősebb atombombák százainak megfelelő energia szabadult fel.
Ismertette, hogy 47 ezer épület és benne 211 ezer ingatlan vagy megsemmisült, vagy súlyosan megrongálódott, és sürgősen el kell bontani.
A török vezető jelezte: március elején már hozzá is látnak 30 ezer épület felhúzásához. Az a céljuk, hogy a földrengés sújtotta régióban egy éven belül annyi minőségi és biztonságos ingatlan építését fejezzék be, amely fedezi a szükségletet – tette hozzá.
Erdogan beszámolt arról is, hogy az AFAD számláján 8,3 milliárd líra (körülbelül 185 millió USD) adomány gyűlt össze a katasztrófa sújtotta dél- és délkelet-törökországi térség számára.
Beszédében kiemelte: a kormányzat az elhunytak hozzátartozóinak első körben 100 ezer líra (mintegy 53 ezer USD) anyagi segítséget nyújt.
Kedden, a február 6-i szerencsétlenség óta először ült össze Ankarában a török kormányzat. A tanácskozást ezúttal kivételesen nem az államfői palotában, hanem a katasztrófavédelem központjában tartották. Több olyan miniszter, aki a katasztrófa helyszínén tartózkodik, videóhívás keretében vett részt az ülésen. Az egyetlen napirendi pont a múlt heti földrengéssorozat volt.
Mindeközben kedd délután is újabb túlélőket találtak Törökországban a mentés kilencedik napján.
Az NTV török hírtelevízió összefoglalója szerint Hatay tartomány Antakya körzetében a mentési munkálatok 209. órájában egy apát és lányát hozták fel az egységek a romok alól. A 207. órában Adiyaman tartományban egy 45 éves férfit, valamint egy 12 éves lányt emeltek ki a törmelékek közül. A 206. órában egy 35 éves nőt mentettek ki Kahramanmaras tartomány Onikisubat körzetében.
