A yorki rendőrség vezetője elmondta, hogy az Ontario állambeli Vaughan egy társasházában történt lövöldözés gyanúsítottját egy rendőr lőtte le. A halálos áldozatok száma vele együtt hat. Egy hetedik személy is megsérült, őt kórházban ápolják, valószínűleg életben marad.

Az elkövetőt a rendőrség még nem azonosította. Az épületet, ahol a gyilkosság történt, kiürítették, de a rendőrség szerint a lakók órákon belül visszatérhetnek lakásaikba, a fenyegetés megszűnt.
