Dél-Koreában a rendfenntartók őrizetbe vették az ukrán nagykövetség egyik munkatársát, aki italozott és garázdálkodott egy Szöul központjában található bárban. Az ukrán nagykövetség már reagált, és megígérte, hogy együttműködnek a koreai hatóságokkal a vizsgálat során. Ukrajna Külügyminisztériuma közölte, hogy visszahívják a diplomatát – jelentette az Ukrajinszka Pravda a Külügyminisztériumra, a szöuli ukrán nagykövetségre és a KBS-re hivatkozva.
A koreai portál arról számolt be, hogy előállítottak egy ukrán diplomatát Szöulban, akit azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy ittas állapotban bántalmazta a bár dolgozóit és a rendőröket.
A szöuli yongsani rendőrőrs közölte, hogy őrizetbe vették az ukrán nagykövetség egy 40 év körüli munkatársát testi sértés és az igazságszolgáltatás akadályozása miatt, mert rátámadt a személyzetre és a rendőrökre egy bárban Itaewon (Yongsan-gu) kerületben.
A közlés szerint az ukrán diplomata a bár előtt állítólag összeveszett a vendégekkel, és megtámadta az őt megállítani próbáló alkalmazottat, valamint a kiérkező rendőrt.
A rendőrök viselkedése miatt a helyszínen őrizetbe vették a külképviselet munkatársát. Az eset kivizsgálása céljából bevitték a rendőrkapitányságra, majd éjjel elengedték.
Az esetre reagált Ukrajna Szöuli Nagykövetsége, elnézést kértek a koreai közvéleménytől és minden érintettől az incidens által okozott bármilyen szenvedésért és kellemetlenségért.
„A nagykövetség szorosan együttműködik a koreai hatóságokkal az eset teljes és pártatlan kivizsgálása érdekében” – közölték.
Később Ukrajna Külügyminisztériuma bejelentette, hogy úgy döntöttek, visszahívják a diplomatát.
Oleh Nikolenko, a Külügyminisztérium szóvivője közölte, hogy a tárca elemezte a szöuli incidens minden részletét.
„Végeredményben döntés született a diplomata azonnali visszahívásáról hosszú távú kiküldetéséből és visszatéréséről Ukrajnába. Az ukrán diplomáciai szolgálat minden dolgozójának külföldön szigorúan be kell tartania a szakmai és erkölcsi etikát, valamint tiszteletben kell tartania a tartózkodási ország jogszabályait” – mondta a szóvivő.
