Két United Airlines repülőgép ütközött össze a New York-i LaGuardia repülőtéren, miközben már így is súlyos késésekkel küzdöttek az időjárás és a történelmi kormányzati leállás miatt. Bár sérülés nem történt, az eset újabb figyelmeztetés a légiközlekedésben tapasztalható feszültségekre.
A New York Post jelentése szerint az incidens még pénteken történt, amikor egy Orlandóból érkező United Airlines járat a beszállókapuhoz kanyarodva megsúrolta egy másik, Houstonba tartó United-gép hátsó részét, ami ekkor álló helyzetben várakozott a gurulóúton.
Egy utas így emlékezett vissza a pillanatra: „Mindannyian éreztünk egy lökést a kifutópályára gurulás közben, de nem tudtuk, hogy egy másik gép volt az, amíg a kapitány nem mondta”. A két repülőgép azonnal visszatért a kapuhoz, és a fedélzeten tartózkodó 328 utast és 15 fős személyzetet biztonságosan kiszállították.
A karbantartó csapatok jelenleg vizsgálják a megsérült gépet, hogy kiderüljön, keletkezett-e bármilyen műszaki hiba az ütközés következtében. A Houstonba tartó járat már az ütközés előtt is 90 perces késésben volt, amely az éjszaka folyamán tovább nőtt.
A LaGuardia repülőtér forgalmát aznap már amúgy is súlyosan akadályozták a heves és erős széllökések, amik miatt több órára leállították a gépek felszállását. Az átlagos földi késés 2 óra 15 perc volt, de egyes járatok akár öt órát is késtek. Az Országos Meteorológiai Szolgálat éjfélig szélriasztást adott ki.
A kikötői hatóság minden kérdést a United Airlineshoz irányított, míg a LaGuardia repülőtér nem reagált a megkeresésekre. Az FAA (Szövetségi Légügyi Hivatal) a kormányzati leállás miatt nem tudott nyilatkozni.
Az amerikai repülőterek országszerte hasonló problémákkal küzdenek, mivel a légiforgalmi irányítók körében súlyos létszámhiány alakult ki. Sean Duffy közlekedési miniszter figyelmeztetett: „Katasztrófa lesz, ha a leállás novemberbe és az ünnepi időszakba is átnyúlik.” Hozzátette, a fizetés nélkül maradt irányítók kénytelenek lehetnek másodállást vállalni, hogy fedezni tudják kiadásaikat, és „tömeges problémák lesznek az egész légteret illetően”.

Legalább két ember meghalt, miután egy repülőgép tűzgolyóként zuhant le vasárnap délután Fort Worth közelében, Texasban. A repülőgép több teherautóval ütközött egy autópálya mellett, majd hatalmas robbanás rázta meg a környéket – számol be Mirror.
Sokkoló felvételek kerültek fel a közösségi médiába, amelyeken hatalmas fekete füstoszlop emelkedik a levegőbe, miközben a mentőegységek a helyszínre siettek. Az eset október 12-én, vasárnap délután történt Fort Worth térségében, a Hicks repülőtér közelében.
A hatóságok egyelőre nem közölték az áldozatok kilétét, és vizsgálják a repülőgép-szerencsétlenség okait.
A helyszínre több település tűzoltói és mentőcsapatai vonultak ki. A megyei seriffhivatal szóvivője közölte, hogy az eset vizsgálatát a Szövetségi Légügyi Hivatal (FAA) veszi át.
A közlekedőket arra kérték, kerüljék el a környéket, amíg a hatóságok biztosítják a területet. A helyszíni képeken jól látszik, hogy a mentő- és rendőrautók teljesen lezárták az autópályát.
A lezuhant gépet Beechcraft King Air C90 típusú repülőgép-ként azonosították. Egyelőre nem világos, hányan tartózkodtak a fedélzeten. Egy szemtanú, Lauren Anderson, egy helyi állateledelbolt dolgozója elmondta, hogy egy „óriási fekete füstfelhőt” látott, ami legalább 30 méter szélesnek tűnt.
Körülbelül fél órán keresztül folyamatosan érkeztek a mentőautók – mondta.

Szerda reggel a Seattle-Tacoma Nemzetközi Repülőtéren egy Japan Airlines gép landolás után látszólag neki ütközött egy Delta Airlines repülőgép farkához – közölték a repülőtér hatóságai. Az utasokat biztonságosan kiszállították a gépekből – írja az AP News.
A Japan Airlines 68-as járata Tokió Narita Nemzetközi Repülőteréről érkezett, és a Boeing 787-es jobb szárnya ütközött a Delta 1921-es járatához tartozó Boeing 737-es farkával. A Japan Airlines közleménye szerint az ütközéskor nem történt személyi sérülés a fedélzeten tartózkodó 172 utas és 13 fős személyzet körében.
A Delta szóvivője, közleményében elmondta, hogy a társaság gépe éppen jégtelenítésre várt, amikor egy másik repülőgép szárnyvége látszólag hozzáért a farkához.
A repülőtér üzemeltetői közölték, hogy az eset minimálisan befolyásolta a repülőtér működését, mivel az ütközés egy taxizási területen történt.

Vasárnap a Melbourne délkeleti részén fekvő Mount Martha közelében vízbe zuhant egy volt katonai repülőgép, miután egy másik repülővel ütközött a levegőben. A gép fedélzetén két ember tartózkodott, akik után jelenleg is kutatnak a hatóságok.
Két repülőgép ütközött össze Ausztráliában, a Mount Marthától mintegy 12 kilométerre nyugatra – írja a The Age.
Az ausztrál hatóságok szerint az egyik repülőgép a Port Phillip-öbölbe zuhant, míg a másik gép biztonságosan le tudott szállni az Essendon repülőtéren. Mindkét repülő fedélzetén két ember tartózkodott.
A rendőrség közölte, hogy mentőszolgálatokat hívtak a Mount Martha-i Esplanade-hoz, miután bejelentést kaptak az incidensről. Három mentőhelikopterrel kutatták át a helyszínt.
A vízbe zuhant repülőgépen tartózkodó két ember után jelenleg is folyik a kutatás. A hatóságok úgy tervezték, hogy vasárnap estig folytatják a két ember keresését.

A Fox News hírtelevízió helyszíni beszámolója szerint a kisgép helyi idő szerint kora este három emberrel a fedélzetén leszállni készült a Washington fővárostól mintegy 30 kilométerre fekvő Gaithersburg repülőterén, amikor egyelőre tisztázatlan okokból a villanyvezetéknek ütközött.
A három utas sértetlenül megúszta az ütközést, ugyanakkor még órákkal a baleset után is a gépben tartózkodtak mintegy 30 méteres magasságban, a feszültség alatt lévő vezeték közelében.
A helyszínre nagy létszámú mentőegység érkezett, hogy megpróbálja kiszabadítani a szerencsétlenül járt gépen utazókat, és helyreállítani az áramszolgáltatást Maryland állam sűrűn lakott régiójában.

A rendőrség őrizetbe vette a hajó 44 éves kapitányát, akinek vérében alkoholt mutattak ki.
Elsüllyedt egy turistákat szállító kirándulóhajó a horvátországi Split kikötőjében, miután az ittas kapitány nekivezette a járművet a partnak kikötés közben – adta hírül a HRT horvát televízió a honlapján.
A balesetben nem esett baja senkinek, de félő, hogy az elsüllyedt hajó szennyezést okozhat a kikötőben. A tűzoltóság elkerítette az incidens helyszínét, hogy elejét vegyék annak, hogy üzemanyag szivárogjon a tengerbe a hajóból. A hatóságok dolgoznak azon, hogy az elsüllyedt hajótestet mielőbb felszínre hozzák.
A Slobodna Dalmacija című horvát lap szerint a baleset egy hajóknak fenntartott, forgalmas üzemanyagtöltő-állomás közvetlen közelében történt.
A 21 méter hosszú Morska vila nevű kirándulóhajó Ciovo szigetről tartott Splitbe, ötvenen utaztak rajta. A rendőrség őrizetbe vette a hajó 44 éves kapitányát, akinek vérében alkoholt mutattak ki.

A brit védelmi minisztérium is megerősítette, hogy összeütközött egy brit hadihajó, valamint egy orosz vadász-gyilkos tengeralattjáró.
A királyi haditengerészet HMS Northumberland elnevezésű hajója már 2020 végén nyomon követte az orosz járművet, amikor a 23-as típusú fregatt vontatott szonárja – hajó mögött, víz alatt húzódó, hidrofonokkal felszerelt hosszú kábel – ütközött a tengeralattjáróval.
Az incidensről videófelvétel is készült, amelyet egy Channel 5 által készített dokumentumfilmben hoztak nyilvánosságra – írja a Szabad Európa Rádió. A védelmi minisztérium korábban nem számolt be az esetről, csak most, hogy lencsevégre kapták.
A védelmi minisztérium a közleményben megerősítette, hogy a vontatott szonár valóban eltalálta az orosz tengeralattjárót. A brit médiának megküldött közleményben kiemelték: a haditengerészet folyamatosan nyomon követi a külföldi tengeralattjárókat, hogy védjék az Egyesült Királyságot.
A védelmi minisztérium egyik meg nem nevezett forrása a BBC-vel közölte, hogy a tengeralattjáró jelenlegi feltételezések szerint nem direkt ütközött neki a Northumberland szonárjának, valamint azt sem tudni, hogy az orosz tengeralattjáró.
Annyit tudni még az esetről, hogy a HMS Northumberlandnek vissza kellett térnie egy skót kikötőben, hogy kicseréljék a sérült szonárt, amely a javítást követően ismét útjának tudott indulni.
