Három turistát elsodort a víz, miután az erős szél és magas hullámok ellenére úszni mentek a görögországi Halkidikí-félszigetnél – írja a Keep Talking Greece helyi híradások alapján.
A három 25, 30 és 32 éves észak-macedón férfi szombat délután ment a vízbe, miután egy születésnapot ünnepeltek a strandon.
Kettőt közülük már sikeresen kimentettek: egyiküket szombat este 7 órakor egy szörfös, másikukat pedig vasárnap találták meg. Egy személy azonban továbbra sincs meg, őt a parti őrség továbbra is keresi, a mentésben helikopter, halászhajók és önkéntesek is részt vesznek.
A hétvégén Görögország-szerte viharos volt az időjárás, amely áradásokat és földcsuszamlásokat is okozott.

Mint arról az Irish Mirror honlapja beszámolt, ritka, kettős figyelmeztetés van érvényben, mert a Eunice nevű vihar nagy hevességgel követi az előző, Dudley névre kereszteltet. A Dudley már elvonult Írország felett. Óránkénti száz kilométeres sebességű széllökései komoly károkat, áradásokat és vihardagályt okoztak. A Eunice vihar azonban csütörtök este és péntek reggel érheti el az ír partokat. A helyi meteorológiai előrejelzések szerint rövid lesz, de nagyon heves, erőteljes széllökésekkel. A meteorológiai intézet két külön figyelmeztetést adott ki: havazásra, szélre és esőre vonatkozó riasztást, valamint hét megyére erős széllökéseket előrejelző figyelmeztetést. A viharos szél miatt csütörtök reggelre több mint 320 ezer háztartás maradt áram nélkül Lengyelországban – olvasható a lengyel kormány biztonsági központjának (RCB) honlapján. A tűzoltóság közlése szerint az ítéletidőnek egy halálos áldozata is van.
Az ország nyugati vajdaságaiban szerdától a legmagasabb, harmadfokú meteorológiai riasztás van érvényben az orkánszerű szél miatt, amelynek lökései elérik az óránkénti 120 kilométeres sebességet is. Szerda éjféltől csütörtök reggel 6 óráig a tűzoltóságot országszerte több mint 1400 alkalommal riasztották, a leggyakrabban a nyugat-lengyelországi régiókban. A tűzoltók kidőlt fákat, letört faágakat távolítottak el, több esetben megrongált háztetőket is biztosítottak. A nyugat-lengyelországi Lubusi vajdaságban fa dőlt egy közlekedő személygépkocsira, amelynek 70 éves sofőrje a helyszínen életét veszítette – közölte a helyi tűzoltóság a PAP hírügynökséggel. Erős szél fúj a Tátrában is, a helyi hatóságok hóviharról számoltak be. A hegyi mentőszolgálat (TOPR) harmadfokú lavinariasztást adott ki az ötfokú skálán. A LOT lengyel állami légitársaság szóvivője, Krzysztof Moczulski arról tájékoztatta a sajtót, hogy a nyugat-lengyelországi Bydgoszczból és a dél-lengyelországi Krakkóból Varsóba tartó két hajnali járatot az erős szél miatt Budapestre irányították át. A Liszt Ferenc repülőtéren a LOT gépei feltöltötték az üzemanyag-tartalékaikat, és mivel közben javultak a varsói időjárási viszonyok, elindultak a lengyel fővárosba.

Hétfő reggel országszerte mintegy 40 ezer háztartás volt áram nélkül, elsősorban Közép-Csehországban és Dél-Morvaországban. Mivel reggelre a szélvihar szinte mindenütt elcsendesedett, a legnagyobb áramszolgáltató (CEZ) szerint remény van arra, hogy a megrongált vezetékeket a nap folyamán mindenütt helyreállítják.
A vihar fennakadásokat okozott a közlekedésben, különösen a vasúton. A megrongált vezetékek és a sínekre dőlt fák miatt vasárnap este Nyugat-Csehországban mintegy húsz regionális vonalon megszakadt a vasúti összeköttetés. A hétfő reggeli órákban országszerte több mint kéttucatnyi vonalon jeleztek problémákat. A vonatokat általában buszokkal helyettesítették.
A rendőrség szerint az utóbbi órákban az átlagosnál több közúti baleset is történt, de senki se halt meg. Karlovy Vary közelében egy parkoló, gyerekekkel teli autóbuszra dőlt egy fa, de csak könnyebb sérüléseket okozott.

– mondta Sona Holingerová, a Cseh Energetikai Művek (CEZ) szóvivője. Megjegyezte: a viharos szél lecsendesülésével várható, hogy kedd estig mindenütt megjavítják a vezetékeket. A legtöbb nehézséggel Közép- és Kelet-Csehországban kell megküzdeniük.
A heves szélvihar következtében hétfőn Csehországban egy ember meghalt, és legkevesebb 13 megsérült. Az anyagi károk több tízmillió koronára rúgnak. Az időjárás fennakadásokat okozott a vasúti közlekedésben is, elsősorban a nyugat- és dél-csehországi régiókban. A Cseh Vasutak (CD) közleménye szerint kedden reggel még mintegy 30 helyi vonalon szünetelt a közlekedés, főként a sínekre dőlt fák és az elszakadt villanyvezetékek miatt. Rendőrségi jelentések szerint a cseh autópályák teljes hosszukban mindenütt járhatók.
A széllökések sebessége hétfőn helyenként meghaladta az óránként száz kilométert. A cseh-lengyel határon fekvő Óriáshegység (Krkonose) legmagasabb, Snezka nevű hegycsúcsán pedig rekordnak számító, 180 kilométeres szélsebességet mértek.
A Lengyelország felett is tomboló Ciara vihar miatt több mint 55 ezer háztartás maradt áram nélkül, az erős szél épületeket rongált meg, és közlekedési fennakadásokat okozott – közölte hétfőn reggel a lengyel kormány biztonsági központja (RCB). A lengyel köztévé szerint két halálos áldozata is van a viharos szélnek.
Hétfő délelőtt a lengyel közszolgálati hírtelevízió közölte: a Bukowina Tatrzanska hegyi síközpontban négy emberre ráborult egy síkölcsönző tetőzete, miután letépte azt a viharos szél. A balesetben ketten – egy nő és egy kislány – meghaltak, egy sérült asszonyt kórházba vittek, egy férfi könnyebb sérüléseket szenvedett.
Vasárnaptól hétfő hajnalig 1100 alkalommal riasztották a tűzoltókat, akik mindenekelőtt kidőlt fákat, leszakadt faágakat távolítottak el. Úttesten fekvő fák miatt két gépkocsivezető megsérült.
Több közúton, ezen belül az országot észak-déli irányban átszelő A1 autópálya alsó-sziléziai szakaszán, valamint öt tengermelléki vasúti szakaszon a vihar fennakadásokat okozott. A Swinoujscie balti-tengeri kikötőből nem indítottak kompokat, a lengyelországi repülőterek pedig az Európában fennálló időjárási viszonyok miatt több nemzetközi járatot is töröltek.

A szlovák rendőrség közösségi oldalán közzétett bejegyzés szerint szerda délelőtt Miaván a viharos erejű szélben az autóbuszmegállóként szolgáló bódé ráomlott két, ott várakozó gyerekre.
A beszámoló szerint egyikük a helyszínen azonnal szörnyethalt. A másik gyereket kritikus állapotban szálították egy Pozsonyhoz közeli kórházba, ahol az orvosok még küzdenek az életéért. A Trencsén Kerületi Rendőrfőkapitányság tekintettel arra, hogy kiskorúakról van szó, nem adott bővebb felvilágosítást a baleset körülményeiről.

Boszniában a heves hóesés az autós és a vonatközlekedésben is fennakadásokat okozott. Szarajevóban egy síközpontot lezártak az viharos szél miatt. Horvátországban 185km/órás széllökéseket mértek, az erős szél fákat döntött ki, ezek épületekben okoztak kárt. Az időjárás miatt a kamionokat nem engedik felhajtani az autópályákra.
