Csaknem három tonna kokaint foglalt le a spanyol rendőrség egy rozoga vitorláson, amely az Atlanti-óceánon hajózott – közölte pénteken az Európai Unió hágai székhelyű rendőrségi együttműködési szervezete (Europol).
A tájékoztatás szerint a bűnüldöző hatóságok művelete egy balkáni székhelyű bűnszervezet hat feltételezett tagjának őrizetbe vételéhez vezetett. A vitorlást a 2,7 tonna – sporttáskákba rejtett – kábítószerrel a fedélzetén egy hadihajó segítségével sikerült elfogni augusztus 24-én, mintegy 1300 kilométerre nyugatra a Spanyolországhoz tartozó Kanári-szigetektől.
Az Europol közölte: az érintett bűnszervezetet azzal gyanúsítják, hogy több tonna kokaint szállított Brazíliából az Európai Unióba. A nyomozók bejelentették: azonosították és elfogták a banda vezetőjét is, egy szerb állampolgárt.
A spanyol hatóságok szerint a vitorlás fedélzetén két embert sikerült őrizetbe venni, négy másikat, köztük a bűnszervezet vezetőjét pedig Szerbiában fogták el. Hozzátették, hogy a Szerbiában végrehajtott művelet során két járművet, luxusórákat és több mint 550 ezer euró készpénzt foglaltak le.
A belgrádi rendőrség már tavaly január óta nyomoz bűnszervezet ellen, amelyet az Atlanti-óceánon keresztül történő nagyszabású kokaincsempészéssel gyanúsítanak.
A rozoga állapotban lévő vitorlás elsüllyedt, miután a hadihajó bevontatta a Kanári-szigetek egyik kikötőjébe.

Mintegy egy tonna, Latin-Amerikából származó kokaint foglaltak le egy, az Atlanti-óceánon hajózó vitorláson – közölte csütörtökön a portugál haditengerészet és a bűnügyi rendőrség.
Artur Vaz, a portugál bűnügyi rendőrség kábítószerellenes részlegének igazgatója közölte, hogy a vitorlást szerdára virradó éjjel, a portugál partoktól mintegy 370 kilométerre állították meg.
A rendőrség átkutatta a jachtot, és őrizetbe vette a rajta tartózkodó egyetlen személyt, egy ötvenhárom éves külföldi férfit – közölte a portugál haditengerészet. A lengyel zászló alatt közlekedő jachtot, amely átkelt az Atlanti-óceánon, a Lisszabontól délre fekvő haditengerészeti támaszpontra kísérték.
A portugál hatóságok szerint a kábítószert több európai országban kívánták értékesíteni.
Artur Vaz hangsúlyozta, hogy jelenleg hatalmas drogszállítmányok érkeznek Európába, elsősorban kokain és hasis, a kokaincsempészet főleg konténerekben zajlik.
