Egy hét alatt másodszor tört ki csütörtökön a Laki-laki vulkán Indonézia keleti részén – számoltak be róla a helyi hatóságok.
A hétfői kitörésnél a csütörtöki jóval nagyobb volt, de egyelőre károkról vagy áldozatokról nem érkeztek jelentések.
A Flores szigetén, Kelet-Nusa Tenggara tartományban található 1584 méter magas vulkán csütörtökön óriási hamu- és törmelékfelhőket lövellt ki, a legnagyobb kitörés mintegy 8 ezer méteres magasságot ért el – közölte Hadi Wijaya, a katasztrófaelhárítási központ vezetője.
Hozzátette: mivel a vulkánkitörés veszélyes zónája keresztezi a sziget legnagyobb városát, Maumerét a szomszédos régióval, Larantukával összekötő utat, figyelmeztették a helyi hatóságokat, hogy zárják le a közlekedést. A vulkán környékét hét kilométeres körben tilos megközelíteni.
A hétfői vulkánkitörés miatt tíz faluból több mint tízezer lakost kellett evakuálni.
A természeti katasztrófában kilencen vesztették életüket, 64-en pedig sérüléseket szenvedtek, a kitörés hét iskolát, csaknem két tucatnyi lakóházat és egy kolostort pusztított el.
A helyi illetékesek közlése szerint a legsúlyosabb károkat szenvedő falvak lakóit a következő fél évben új helyre telepítik, és minden új házra váró család havi 500 ezer rúpiás kompenzációban részesül.
A Laki-laki a Lewotobi-hegy ikervulkánjainak egyike. Az ikervulkánt a helyiek férj és feleség hegyként emlegetik. A Laki-laki a férfi, míg párja a Perempuan, a nő.

Kitört egy vulkán szerda délután Izland délnyugati részén, a szeizmikus aktivitást miatt kiürítették a közeli Grindavík kikötővárost, valamint – még a kitörés előtt – a turisták körében népszerű Kék Lagúna szabadtéri geotermikus fürdőt is, ahol délelőtt még nyolcszázan tartózkodtak.
Az ország meteorológiai intézete szerint a láva mintegy 50 méteres magasságba lövell a magasba egy körülbelül egy kilométer hosszúságú hasadékból.
A kitörést megelőzően több rengést észleltek a mintegy 3800 lakosú Grindavíktól északra. A települést márciusban, illetve novemberben már kiürítették vulkánkitörések miatt.
A vulkán a Reykjanes-félszigeten, az ország egyik legsűrűbben lakott vidékén tört ki.

Péntek óta ömlik a vulkáni hamu és a füst a mexikói Popocatépetl vulkánból. A helyi hatóságok felszólították a környékbelieket, hogy maradjanak távol a tűzhányótól.
A mexikói katasztrófavédelmi központ pénteken arról írt, hogy a Popocatépetl vulkán nagy mennyiségű vízgőzt, vulkáni gázt és hamut bocsátott ki. Hozzátették, a műszerek mérései alapján az elkövetkező napokban tovább növekedhet a vulkáni aktivitás.
A washingtoni Vulkáni Hamu Tanácsadó Központ a vulkán „robbanásveszélyes tevékenységéről” számolt be szombat reggel, és arra figyelmeztettek, hogy a tűzhányó több mint hatezer méteres magasságig lövellt fel hamut.
Ugyanakkor hangsúlyozták, a csóva várhatóan délnyugat felé mozdul el, így nem éri el a közelben fekvő Mexikóvárost – számolt be a Yahoo News.
A legfrissebb híradások szerint a vulkán még mindig veszélyes lehet, a korábban kiadott sárga riasztás továbbra is érvényben marad.

Nagy mennyiségű lávát okádott vasárnap a Szicília szigetén az Etna – közölte az olasz geofizikai és vulkanológiai intézet (INGV).
A tűzhányó felett 4,5 kilométer magas füstoszlop kígyózott, időnként robbanásokat lehetett látni és hallani.
A térség több településére, így Milo és Zafferana Etnea településekre hamu hullott, nagyobb károkról azonban nem érkeztek jelentések. A cataniai repülőtér forgalma zavartalan volt.
A mintegy 3350 méter magas Etna a világ egyik legaktívabb tűzhányója, legutóbb 1992-ben produkált nagyobb kitörést.

Tíz kilométer magas hamu- és füstfelhőt okádott a levegőbe az oroszországi Kamcsatka-félszigeten lévő Bezimjannij-vulkán – számoltak be róla fotókat is megosztva orosz geológusok a hétvégén.
A három kilométer magas Bezimjannij a világ egyik legaktívabb tűzhányója, a félsziget fővárosától, Petropavlovszk-Kamcsatszkijtól mintegy 350 kilométerre található. A térségében átmenetileg a legmagasabb, vörös veszélyességi fokozatot hirdették ki miatta a légi közlekedésre. Az orosz polgári védelem szerint azonban lakott területekre és az idegenforgalomra nem jelentett veszélyt.
A Moszkvától mintegy 6600 kilométerre keletre fekvő félsziget a világ egyik legnagyobb geotermikus aktivitású területe, nagyjából 30 aktív vulkánt tartanak rajta számon. A vulkanikus régió az UNESCO természeti világörökségi helyszínei között szerepel.
A Bezimjannij legemlékezetesebb kitörése 1956-ban volt, amikor az akkor 3080 méter magas tűzhányó csaknem egy köbkilométer vulkanikus anyagot lövellt a levegőbe rövid idő alatt, és emiatt magassága 280 méterrel csökkent.

A Hawaiin lévő Mauna Loa vulkán, úgy tűnik, több évtizedes szunnyadás után ismét kitörhet: a figyelmeztető fokozatot sárgára, azaz kettes szintre emelték. A vulkán már 38 éve nem tört ki, azonban a tűzhányó alatti magmamozgások annak aktivitását jelzik.
A magmozdulások normál esetben napi 5-10 földrengést produkálnak, szeptember vége óta azonban a rengések száma növekedett. A kiemelt figyelmet az egyre több rengéssel járó, most zajló feltöltődés adja.
A Föld legnagyobb tűzhányóját számos érzékeny műszeri figyeli, mint például a szeizmométerek, amelyek a földrengés bekövetkezésének idejét, a rengés irányát és erősségét mérik. A Mauna Loa vulkánnál most már naponta 40-50 rengést is regisztrálnak – írja az Infostart.
A 38 évnyi nyugalom aggodalomra ad okot
Mint írják, a vulkán nem ad sok előjelet kitörései előtt, és a különös veszélyre utal a rövid előjel, a gyors láva, a nagy lávatérfogat és a lakosság figyelmét altató 38 évnyi nyugalom. Ha a kitörés megtörténik, jelentős térfogatú láva juthat a hegylejtőkön gyorsan messzire, és 3-4 órán belül elérhet számos települést.
A Hawaii Vulkán Obszervatórium szerint egyelőre nincs ok az aggodalomra, de ez a különösen hosszú szunnyadási időszak egyszer véget fog érni. Legutóbb Új-Zélandon adtak ki figyelmeztetést amiatt, hogy megnőtt a Taupo nevű vulkán kitörésének az esélye. A tűzhányó korábbi erupciója a legnagyobb vulkánkitörés volt az utóbbi ötezer évben.

85 napja aktív a Cumbre Vieja vulkán a spanyolországi La Palma szigetén. A feljegyzések kezdete óta ez a leghosszabb idő, amíg a vulkán aktív volt a szigeten.
Szeptember 19-én kezdett el lávát és mérgező gázt lövellni, az olvadt kőzet és hamu pedig több mint 1200 hektárra terjedt szét, elpusztítva 3000 épületet.

La Palma szigeten, ahol szeptember közepe óta folyik a Cumbre Vieja vulkán kitörése, október 25-én több mint 90 kisebb földrengést észleltek. A hírt az El Pais közölte.
A nemzeti földrajzi intézet jelentése szerint a legerősebb magnitúdója 3,7 volt.
Hétfőn a vulkán fő krátere részben összeomlott, és nagy lávafolyam szabadult fel. Az egyik most dél felé haladt, itt a korábbi áramlások nem haladtak át.
A Copernicus európai űrmegfigyelési program szerint a láva már több mint 900 hektárt borított be, és mintegy 2150 házat pusztított el.
