Két Molotov-koktélt dobtak helyi idő szerint vasárnap este Kuba washingtoni nagykövetségének épületére, áldozatok és károk nincsenek – közölte a kubai külügyminiszter az X közösségi oldalon, terrortámadásnak nevezve az esetet.
„A Kuba-ellenes csoportok terrortámadásoktól sem riadnak vissza ha azt látják, hogy tetteik büntetlenül maradnak” – szögezte le Bruno Rodríguez.
Az incidens alig néhány órával azt követően történt, hogy Miguel Díaz-Canel kubai elnök hazatért New Yorkból, ahol az ENSZ Közgyűlésén vett részt.
Az államfő látogatása ellen sok, az Egyesült Államokban élő kubai tüntetett a világszervezet székháza előtt.
Rodríguez emlékeztetett arra, hogy az utóbbi években a mostani volt a második támadás a latin-amerikai ország egyesült államokbeli külképviselete ellen; 2020-ban egy férfi tüzet nyitott az épületre, ám akkor sem sebesült meg senki.
