Egy újabb georgiai önkéntes harcos, a 34 éves Vaso Kardava is meghalt Ukrajnában – írja a The Kyiv Independent.
A férfivel állítólag egy orosz tüzérségi csapás végzett vele a Donyecki területen. A georgiai Mtavari médiaközlemény szerint a teljes körű invázió 2022. februári kezdete óta harcolt Ukrajnában.
Vaso Kardava eredetileg Abháziából származott, abból a georgiai régióból, amelyet Oroszország és annak közvetítő erői az 1990-es évek eleje óta megszálltak.
Egy februári adat szerint a teljes körű háború kezdete óta legalább 59 georgiai harcos halt meg a harcokban, de azóta további áldozatokról számoltak be. Ugyanakkor az Ukrajnában harcoló georgiaiak valódi halálos áldozatainak számáról ellentmondásos beszámolók láttak napvilágot.

A genovai ügyészség vádat emelt Kevin Chiappalone, 19 éves olasz állampolgár, a szélsőjobboldali „Caza Pound” mozgalom támogatója ellen, aki az ukrán fegyveres erők oldalán készült harcolni — számolt be a Jevropejszka Pravda az ANS-ra hivatkozva.
Marco Dzocco, Genova helyettes ügyésze azzal vádolja Chiappalone-t, hogy zsoldoskatona, aki az „Ukrán Nemzetközi Brigád” (valószínűleg a Nemzetközi Légió) soraihoz csatlakozott.
Az olasz Nyomozói és Különleges Műveletek Osztálya (DIGOS) vizsgálatot indított, miután Chiappalone interjút adott a Panorama hetilapnak, ahol azt mondta, hogy Putyin kijelentéseit követően úgy döntött, hogy segít Ukrajnának országa védelmében.
A nyomozás megállapította, hogy a 19 éves olasznak nem volt katonai tapasztalata, májusban hagyta el Olaszországot, valószínűleg a lengyel határon keresztül lépett be Ukrajnába. A közösségi oldalakon készült fotójából az következik, hogy katonai kiképzést követően Donbászra került.
A 19 éves olasz a mintegy hatezer tagot számláló „Caza Pound” neofasiszta mozgalom híve, amely római squatterek egy csoportjából ered, és egy ideig sikertelenül vett részt a parlamenti választásokon.
A „Caza Pound” tagjai a nyomozóknak elmondták, hogy Chiappalone önállóan talált információt az ukrán ellenálláshoz való csatlakozásról az interneten keresztül, Lengyelországba repült, majd busszal utazott Ukrajnába.
Ha az olasz férfit elítélik, kettőtől hét évig terjedő szabadságvesztésre számíthat. Az ANSA közölte, ez az első vádemelés olasz állampolgár ellen az ukrajnai háborúban való részvétel miatt.

Olaszországban közölték, hogy a szicíliai Messina városából származó 28 éves férfit tartóztattak le, aki a kelet-ukrajnai fegyveres konfliktusban az oroszok által támogatott csoport oldalán harcolt, számoltak be az olasz rendvédelmi szervek.
A férfit illegális katonai tevékenységgel és az 1989-es New York-i egyezmény (zsoldosok elleni küzdelem) megsértésével gyanúsítják.
A bűncselekmény kapcsán nemzetközi jellegével összefüggő súlyosbító körülmények merültek fel. Az olasz sajtó szerint a gyanúsított egy olyan csoporttagja lett, amely illegális tevékenységeket folytatott különböző országokban.
A helyi sajtó, a rendőrségi jelentésekre hivatkozva közölte, hogy a nyomozás 2019 óta tart Messina és Lodi (Észak-Lombardia) városokban, mivel a fogvatartott családja az elmúlt időszakban ezekben a városokban élt. Az „Ivan” hadműveletet a messinai ügyészség a ROS Carabinieri különleges erők regionális irodáival együtt hajtotta végre.
