“Жодна розумна людина, яка розглядає факти справи Гантера, не може дійти іншого висновку, крім того, що Гантер був виокремлений тільки тому, що він мій син, ‒ і це неправильно”, ‒ сказав Байден.
“З того дня, як я вступив на посаду, я сказав, що не втручатимуся в прийняття рішень Міністерством юстиції, і я дотримався свого слова, навіть коли я спостерігав, як мого сина вибірково і несправедливо переслідують”, ‒ додав Байден.
Рішення президента викликало запеклу реакцію з боку передвиборчої кампанії Дональда Трампа, республіканців та деяких демократів. Джаред Поліс, губернатор Колорадо від Демократичної партії, написав на X: “Це поганий прецедент, яким можуть зловживати наступні президенти, і який, на жаль, заплямує репутацію Джо Байдена”.
Юридичні проблеми Гантера були політичним “головним болем” для Джо Байдена з моменту його перемоги на виборах у 2020 році, коли його син повідомив, що перебуває під федеральним розслідуванням.
У червні цього року його засудили за трьома пунктами звинувачення у скоєнні тяжкого злочину за дачу неправдивих свідчень під час федеральної перевірки біографічних даних при купівлі пістолета. На суді були надані детальні свідчення про його пристрасть до креку та романтичні стосунки з вдовою брата.

Іранські хакери видавали себе за технічну підтримку AOL, Google, Yahoo і Microsoft.
Компанія заблокувала акаунти WhatsApp цілей кібератаки після того, як користувачі повідомили про підозрілу активність.
Meta приписує цю активність хакерській групі APT42, яка, ймовірно, пов’язана з розвідувальним підрозділом іранської армії й відома тим, що встановлює програмне забезпечення для стеження на мобільні телефони своїх цілей. За словами дослідників, які стежать за групою, це програмне забезпечення дозволяє записувати дзвінки, викрадати текстові повідомлення, а також приховано вмикати камери й мікрофони.
Аналітики компанії пов’язують діяльність групи зі спробами кібератак на виборчі кампанії в США, про які повідомляли Microsoft і Google на початку цього місяця, напередодні президентських виборів у листопаді.
У повідомленні Meta не називаються імена осіб, на WhatsApp-акаунти яких були спрямовані атаки, сказано лише, що хакери “схоже, зосередилися на політичних і дипломатичних офіційних особах, бізнесменах та інших громадських діячах, у тому числі пов’язаних з адміністраціями президента Байдена й колишнього президента Трампа”.

Згідно з повідомленням Fox News, наразі невідомо, чи склала вже прокуратура обвинувальний акт. Водночас, за даними телеканалу, що посилається на свої джерела, це рішення стане неминучим.

Подружжя мало продати щоденник доньки Байдена незадовго до президентських виборів 2020 року праворадикальній організації Project Veritas, відомої в тому числі організацією журналістських провокацій. Глава організації повідомив, що отримав його від людей, які “знайшли” щоденник Ешлі Байден у будинку її подруги у Флориді, де вона гостювала.
Організація не опублікувала документ, але він з’явився на сторінках невеликого правого сайту National File, де зазначено, що його джерелом був «стурбований співробітник Project Veritas».

Президента США Джо Байдена з дружиною Джілл Байден евакуювали зі свого будинку в штаті Делавер із містечка Рехобот-Біч до місцевої пожежної частини. Причиною став невідомий літак, що влетів у повітряний простір над будинком подружжя Байденів. Про це у суботу, 4 червня, повідомляє Fox News.
За словами представника Білого дому, евакуацію провели як запобіжний засіб.
„Невеликий приватний літак увійшов в обмежений повітряний простір… було вжито запобіжні заходи. Жодної загрози президенту або його сім’ї немає”, – заявили в Білому домі.
Пізніше там додали, що президент та перша леді вже повернулися до своєї резиденції. Білий дім повідомив пресу про те, що сталося, майже через годину після інциденту.
„Літак був негайно виведений з обмеженого повітряного простору. Секретна служба США проведе бесіду з пілотом”, – сказано у заяві.
Як пояснили в службі охорони США, невеликий літак помилково увійшов до обмеженого повітряного простору біля пляжного будинку Байденів.
