Вісьмох лижників було врятовано після сходження лавини на льодовику Штубай в Австрії. В операції взяли участь понад 250 рятувальників. Четверо лижників зазнали легких травм, двох доставили до лікарні.
Група з п’яти чоловіків та трьох жінок, на яких зійшла лавина, каталася на лижах поза трасою.
У масштабній рятувальній операції взяли участь понад 250 осіб. Крім того, задіяли службових собак та гелікоптери.
До вечора всіх німецьких, болгарських та австрійських лижників знайшли. На щастя, у них були тільки легкі травми.
Лавина зійшла на перевалі Дауншарте, небезпечній зоні за межами захищених гірськолижних схилів, і була спричинена перетином схилу зі значним накопиченням снігу. Деякі лижники з міркувань безпеки скористалися подушками безпеки.

Лавина у Французьких Альпах забрала життя чотирьох норвезьких лижників, яких зніс позатрасовий потік снігу та льоду в південно-східному регіоні Савойя.
Про це повідомляє The Guardian з посиланням на правоохоронців.
Також у середу окрема лавина поблизу Шамоні, у регіоні Верхня Савойя, забрала життя швейцарського лижника.
Норвезькі жертви були частиною групи з семи лижників, які потрапили під лавину в Валь-Сені, на кордоні з Італією.
Троє загинули на місці, а ще одна жінка померла у лікарні Греноблі після зупинки серця та сильної гіпотермії, Решта троє не постраждали.
Усі вони мали лавинні маяки, оскільки займалися лижним туризмом поза трасами, сказав мер Валь-Сені Жак Арну. “Це була лавина величезних розмірів, яка зійшла за межами лижної зони”, ‒ додав він.
Жертвою лавини у Верхній Савойї стала 30-річна жінка, яка каталася на лижах поза трасами на північному схилі Егюйєт-де-Позетт на гірському масиві Монблан. З нею був батько, який не постраждав, і брат, якого доставили в лікарню для обстеження. Лижники мали трансивери та протилавинні подушки безпеки, додали у прокуратурі.

Аварія на підйомнику сталася на гірськолижному курорті Астун, який розташований у Піренеях, на кордоні Іспанії та Франції.
Гірськолижний підйомник обвалився на курорті на північному сході Іспанії, викинувши десятки пасажирів у сніг. Внаслідок аварії на підйомнику, люди впали з 15-метрової висоти та отримали тяжкі травми.
Голова аварійної служби Арагону Мігель Анхель Клаверо, сказав, що аварія, ймовірно, сталася через «збій у системі повернення лижного підйомника, що призвело до збою напруги».
Деякі з учасників аварії розповіли журналістам, як вони врізалися в землю під собою.
«Раптом ми почули звук і впали прямо на землю, у крісло. Ми підстрибували вгору-вниз близько п’яти разів, і спини були дуже болі або ми були поранені, але були люди, які падали зі стільців», – розповіла учасниця аварії Марія Морено.
Морено додала, що, на її думку, деякі люди, мабуть, отримали серйозні поранення, оскільки «крісло вдарило їх прямо», коли воно впало.
«Це ніби кабель ослабився, і раптом усі стільці почали підстрибувати, і люди полетіли», – сказав інший очевидець
Повідомляється, що як тільки надійшли повідомлення про аварію то відразу п’ять гелікоптерів, 14 машин швидкої допомоги та мобільний медичний центр були відправлені на курорт.
