Десятки тисяч людей вийшли у Парижі та інших великих містах Франції у Міжнародний жіночий день на демонстрацію для того, щоб привернути увагу на гендерну нерівність, яка посилилася внаслідок епідемії коронавірусу та запровадженими через це обмеженнями.
Учасники акції протесту засуджують те, що жінки не отримують однакову з чоловіками оплату за ту саму роботу і що регулярно стають жертвами дискримінації та сексуального насильства. Учасники ходи у Парижі, яка пройшла в карнавальному стилі, на своїх транспарантах закликали до «феміністичного страйку». За даними організаторів, у столиці на вулиці вийшло близько 30 тисяч людей.
«Прикро, що у 2021 році ми все ще боремося за рівність», – зазначила 22-річна студентка французькому виданню «AFP». За її словами, епідемія стала кроком назад у боротьбі за права жінок.
У Страсбурзі кілька сотень людей, серед яких сто акушерок, виступали за рівне визнання роботи жінок та чоловіків у сфері зайнятості.
Щоб підвищити обізнаність про гендерну нерівність, яка все ще існує, учасники маршу символічно закликали жінок припинити роботу о 15:40, оскільки, виходячи із середнього показника загальних заробітків жінок та чоловіків, різниця в оплаті праці між статями становить близько 25 відсотків.
