Інформагентство AP із посиланням на інформацію мексиканського католицького медіа-центру повідомляє, що в штаті Мічоакан був убитий католицький священник. Він став дев’ятим служителем церкви, убитим у Мексиці за останні чотири роки.
Прокуратура штату Мічоакана заявила, що на тілі Хав’єра Гарсіа Вільяфана були численні вогнепальні поранення, і що він, ймовірно, був застрелений в своєму автомобілі під час руху. Священник був призначений у парафію в Уандакарео місяць тому.

Відвертий критик уряду Нікарагуа, римо-католицький єпископ Роландо Альварес, був засуджений у п’ятницю до 26 років ув’язнення і позбавлений нікарагуанського громадянства.
Єпископ, заарештований у серпні минулого року, був засуджений до тривалого тюремного ув’язнення на наступний день після того, як відмовився сісти на літак до США, що перевозив 222 політв’язнів, депортованих із Нікарагуа.
Звинувачення проти єпископа звучали як підрив діяльності уряду, поширення неправдивої інформації та непокору. Роландо Альварес нібито не сів на літак, тому що хотів попередньо порадитися з іншими єпископами.
Літак із провідними опозиційними політиками, в тому числі кількома колишніми кандидатами в президенти, священнослужителями, студентами та активістами приземлився в аеропорту під Вашингтоном у п’ятницю. Вони були депортовані з країни, оголошені „зрадниками країни” і позбавлені громадянства, згідно з наказом, виданим у середу за „підрив незалежності і суверенітету Нікарагуа”. У провінції Вандеї на заході Франції в понеділок уранці був убитий католицький священник. Згідно з офіційним повідомленням, зловмисник є емігрантом з Руанди, який підозрюється в підпалі готичного собору в Нанті.
Як передала суспільна радіостанція Franceinfo, убитий священник Олів’є Мейр був знайдений у місіонерському будинку в Сен-Лоран-сюр-Севре.
60-річний священнослужитель місяцями надавав прихисток своєму вбивці, повідомило джерело в поліції. А також заявило, що злочинець сам здався жандармерії.
Чоловік перебував під наглядом правоохоронців у зв’язку з пожежею в готичному соборі в Нанті в липні минулого року, додало джерело. Поліція підозрює, що саме він підпалив будівлю. Вогонь знищив цінні фрески та церковний орган, який пережив навіть французьку революцію та Другу світову війну.
ЗМІ повідомляють, що вбивство здійснив мігрант з Руанди, 40-річний Еммануель Абаїсенга. Це також підтвердила у Twitter Крістель Морансей, голова регіональної ради Луари. Правоохоронці вивчають мотиви вбивства.
Руандець раніше працював волонтером в єпархії. Пізніше йому загрожувала депортація.
Лідерка опозиційної політичної партії «Національний фронт» Марін Ле Пен у Twitter написала: «У Франції хтось може незаконно потрапити до країни, підпалити Нантський собор, не отримати депортацію, а потім убити священника». Ле Пен підкреслила, що вважає це «повним банкрутством держави та міністра внутрішніх справ».
Міністр внутрішніх справ Жеральд Дарманін у відповідь написав, що Ле Пен провокує суперечку, не знаючи фактів. Незважаючи на указ про депортацію, мігрант не може покинути Францію поки перебуває під слідством.
