За даними CNN, ФБР уже попередньо встановило особу стрільця. Джерела зазначають, що початкова ідентифікація збігається з чоловіком із штату Вашингтон, який іммігрував до США з Афганістану у серпні 2021 року.
Один з правоохоронців розповів, що відбитки пальців затриманого дозволили встановити його первинне ім’я, однак слідчі продовжують перевірку та верифікацію даних.
CBS News, зі свого боку, уточнює, що підозрюваному 29 років, і називає його ім’я – Рахманулла Лаканвал.

У Вашингтона відбулися акції протесту проти політики президента США Дональда Трампа. Протестувальники, обурені відразу кількома резонансними подіями, вимагали імпічменту глави Білого дому повідомляє Суспільне.
Зазначається, що мітинги розгорнувся на тлі скандалу із файлами Джефрі Епштейна, антиіміграційних рейдів федеральної еміграційної служби та опублікованого мирного плану для врегулювання війни між Україною та Росією.
Протестувальники вийшли на вулиці з плакатами: “Трамп має піти просто зараз”, “Ти або стоїш за Америку, або за Трампа – не можеш робити обидва”, “Імпічмент для них! Тримай лінію!” та “Трамп щойно продав Україну”.
Один із протестувальників, Гаррі Раш, заявив, що виступає проти більшості дій Трампа, але особливо обурений ультимативними вимогами до України та дедлайном щодо погодження плану врегулювання війни.
“Трамп дає Україні дедлайн для підписання того, що він називає “угодою”. Але це не угода – це капітуляція перед Путіним. Обурює, що він вимагає від українців прийняти документ, який вони не готували і який не погоджений з Європою. Він просто намагається повернути собі вплив. І з огляду на те, що дедлайн був оголошений до Дня Подяки – саме тому я використав на цьому плакаті індичку – просто нестерпно. Дедлайн до Дня подяки – абсурд. Я солідарний з Україною і чекаю дня, коли ви виженете Росію зі своєї землі”, – сказав він.
Тема “мирного плану” щодо України фігурувала і на плакатах деяких інших протестувальників.

Минулої ночі у штаті Вашингтон вибухнула шафа зарядної станції Tesla Supercharger. Ймовірною причиною вибуху вважають саморобну бомбу. Наразі інцидент розслідують місцева поліція та ФБР.
Станцію Supercharger Tesla з 12 зарядними місцями в місті Лейсі тимчасово закрито, оскільки вибух пошкодив електричну шафу, яка постачає живлення на зарядки. ФБР та місцева поліція вивчають ситуацію як потенційний випадок закладання бомби.
Tesla прокоментувала ситуацію в дописі на X:
«Ми перебуваємо на місці разом із поліцією Лейсі та ФБР, переглядаємо відео з камер. Також координуємо дії з енергокомпанією Puget Sound Energy, щоб якомога швидше відновити роботу зарядок. Не варто чіпати критичну інфраструктуру.»
Puget Sound Energy — це місцева енергетична компанія, яка постачає електрику на станцію Supercharger.
Поліція Лейсі також зробила заяву:
«Сьогодні о 1:34 ночі поліція прибула за викликом про акт вандалізму після численних повідомлень про гучний вибух. На місці, біля магазину Target за адресою 665 Sleater Kinney RD SE, офіцери виявили пошкоджену зарядну станцію для електромобілів.»
Поліція підтвердила, що до розслідування долучилось ФБР.
Упродовж останніх двох місяців по всьому світу, особливо у США, відбуваються масові протести біля об’єктів Tesla. Багато хто закликає бойкотувати компанію, яку сприймають як особистий «гаманець» Ілона Маска для фінансування Дональда Трампа та символ сприяння підйому фашизму в США.
Окрім мирних протестів, були й жорсткіші дії: вандалізм, підпали автомобілів Tesla та саботаж зарядних станцій. У більшості випадків акти вандалізму розслідують місцеві правоохоронці, однак помітно, що з початку року ФБР все частіше бере участь у таких справах.

Національна рада з безпеки на транспорті (NTSB) розслідує причину катастрофи, що сталася ввечері 29 січня, коли літак American Airlines рейсу 5342, що летів з Вічіти, штат Канзас, зіткнувся з армійським вертольотом Black Hawk за межами Національного аеропорту Рейгана в Арлінгтоні.
NTSB повідомила, що дані, отримані диспетчерами управління повітряним рухом, свідчать, що гелікоптер Black Hawk був вище 200 футів, ніж це передбачено правилами Федерального управління цивільної авіації США (FAA), поблизу цього аеропорту.

Поблизу аеропорту ім. Рональда Рейгана у передмісті Вашингтона пасажирський літак під час приземлення зіткнувся з вертольотом. Наразі рятувальники дістають тіла загиблих з річки.
Пошуково-рятувальні роботи проводяться в районі річки Потомак.
На борту авіалайнера перебувало 64 людини у той момент, коли він зіткнувся із гелікоптером Black Hawk. На борту вертольота знаходились троє військових.
Зіткнення сталось під час спроби приземлення літака в аеропорту ім. Рейгана.
Як зазначають правоохоронці, уламки внаслідок зіткнення були виявлені у трьох різних місцях.
З води витягнули щонайменше 18 загиблих і ще жодного живого.
У поліції округу Колумбія заявили, що місцеві правоохоронці почали отримувати дзвінки про авіакатастрофу 29 січня о 20:53 за місцевим часом.
Як стало відомо, літак виконував рейс 5342 компанії American Airlines і був регіональним літаком PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700. Він вилетів із Вічіто, штат Канзас, раніше в середу.
Зі свого боку прес-секретар Білого дому Керолайн Лівітт заявила, що президент США Дональд Трамп уже в курсі про інцидент.
«Зараз над цим реагуванням працюють багато агентств, як федеральні, так і місцеві правоохоронні органи працюють разом на місцях, щоб спробувати врятувати якомога більше життів. І президент продовжить стежити за цією ситуацією. Думки і молитви всієї адміністрації Трампа з усіма, хто залучений», — зазначила Лівітт.

Близько тисячі людей 9 липня зібралися перед Білим домом у Вашингтоні з вимогою до президента Сполучених Штатів Джо Байдена більш твердо виступити на захист права на аборти.
Хода вулицями столиці завершилася перед офіційною резиденцією лідера США. Однак Джо Байден на вихідних перебував не там, а у своєму будинку в штаті Делавер.
На огорожі Білого дому демонстранти розвісили зелені шарфи як нагадування про боротьбу аргентинських жінок за право на переривання вагітності.
Після того як 24 червня Верховний суд США скасував право на аборти по всій території країни, президента-демократа звинуватили в тому, що він недостатньо рішуче відреагував на це рішення.
Джо Байден, у свою чергу, стверджує, що його влада обмежена і найкращий спосіб відновити справедливість – прийняти федеральний закон.
Для цього, за його словами, виборці повинні забезпечити демократам більшість на загальних виборах у листопаді.
Джо Байден у п’ятницю видав указ про федеральну допомогу жінкам, які хочуть зробити аборт. Президент зробив це у зв’язку з тим, що два тижні тому Верховний суд США скасував рішення в справі Роу проти Вейда, тобто скасував право на аборти на федеральному рівні, дозволивши штатам самостійно вирішувати це питання.
Своїм розпорядженням Байден наказав міністерству охорони здоров’я зробити більш доступними таблетки для переривання вагітності, схвалені Федеральним управлінням продовольства та медикаментів (FDA).
Однак, за словами експертів, ці препарати ще багато років будуть доступні тільки за рецептом. У штатах, які вже обмежили доступ до них, указ президента недійсний.
Байден також наказав міністру юстиції та своїм радникам у Білому домі створити групу юристів, щоб надавати безкоштовні консультації жінкам, які хочуть перервати вагітність, та лікарям, які роблять аборти.

У середу загинули чотири учасники акції протесту прихильників Дональда Трампа під час спроби штурму будівлі Капітолію, заявили в поліції.
Речник поліції, зокрема, повідомив, що жінка, яка зазнала вогнепального поранення в груди, померла в лікарні. За цим фактом розпочато розслідування.
Про причину смерті трьох інших людей наразі нічого не повідомляється.
Унаслідок зіткнення демонстрантів з поліцією 14 правоохоронців зазнали травм, двоє з них – важких. Одного протестувальники затягли в натовп і побили, іншого поранили з вогнепальної зброї.
На місці події поліція виявила дві трубні бомби, а в одній з машин – коктейлі Молотова. 52 людини були заарештовані, четверо – за незаконне володіння зброєю, 47 – за порушення комендантської години, яка діє з 18:00 за місцевим часом.
ФБР заявило, що були знешкоджені два, імовірно, вибухові пристрої.
Окрім Вашингтона, акції протесту відбулися в кількох великих американських містах, зокрема в Денвері та Атланті, але там не було сутичок.
