Кількість злочинів на ґрунті ненависті у США різко зросла 2021 року, досягнувши рекордного рівня – майже 11 тисяч інцидентів. Про це повідомило ФБР у додатку до щорічного звіту про злочини на ґрунті ненависті. Згідно з оновленим звітом, 2021 року було зареєстровано 10 840 інцидентів, що на 31 відсоток більше, ніж за попередній рік. У 2020 зареєстровано 8263 інциденти.
«Річний приріст кількості злочинів на ґрунті ненависті 2021 року був найзначнішим більш ніж за 30 років. Це свідчить про жахливу нову еру, в яку ми вступили з історично високими рівнями злочинності та побитим рекордом 2021 року», – заявив директор Центру з вивчення ненависті та екстремізму в Університеті штату Каліфорнія в Сан-Бернандіно Браян Левін.
