Tragikus baleset rázta meg hétfő délután az illinois-i Chatham települést, ahol egy jármű nagy sebességgel hajtott bele egy gyerekfoglalkozásnak otthont adó közösségi épületbe. Az áldozatok életkora négy és tizennyolc év között van.
A gépjármű először több embert ütött el az épület előtt, majd áthajtott rajta, bent is eltalálva többeket, mielőtt a túloldalon keresztül távozott – írja a BBC.
A négy kiskorú közül hármat az udvaron, egyet pedig bent az épületben ütött el az autós.
Több sérültet mentőhelikopterrel és mentőautóval szállítottak kórházba, állapotukról egyelőre nem adtak bővebb tájékoztatást.
A sofőr a balesetben nem sérült meg, de kórházba szállították megfigyelésre. Az illinois-i rendőrség nem zárta ki, hogy szándékosság állhat a háttérben, ugyanakkor ezt egyelőre nem erősítették meg. A tragédia pontos körülményeit még vizsgálják.
A baleset helyi idő szerint hétfőn délután 15:30-kor történt. A közösségi médiában megosztott felvételeken hatalmas törések és nyílások láthatók az épület falán, ahol az autó behatolt és távozott.
JB Pritzker, Illinois állam kormányzója közösségi oldalán osztotta meg részvétét, és jelezte, hogy figyelemmel kísérik a fejleményeket. Chatham egy körülbelül 14 ezer lakosú település, mindössze 5 kilométerre Illinois állam fővárosától, Springfieldtől. A kisváros közösségét megrendítette a történtek brutalitása és váratlansága.
A hatóságok továbbra is vizsgálják, hogy műszaki hiba, emberi mulasztás vagy szándékosság vezetett-e a tragédiához. A YNOT központ dolgozói és a családok számára pszichológiai segítséget ajánlottak fel a hatóságok és civil szervezetek.

Hét San Antonió-i rendőrre lőtt rá egy elbarikádozott gyanúsított szerda este.
A gyanúsítottat lőtt sebekkel találták holtan – mondta el a város rendőrfőnöke. William McManus rendőrfőnök újságíróknak elmondta, hogy az incidens akkor kezdődött, amikor a rendőrök a gyanúsított családtagjának hívására reagáltak. A bejelentés egy folyamatban lévő öngyilkossági kísérletről szólt egy lakókomplexumban, a San Antonio északi részén lévő Stone Oak negyedben.
Az első kiérkező rendőrtisztet a lábán meglőtték – mondta McManus.
Egy másik rendőrt, aki utána, vagy vele nagyjából egy időben érkezett, szintén meglőtték – folytatta a rendőrfőnök.
Majd a harmadik és a negyedik rendőrt is találat érte, mindenkit kórházba szállították, vélhetően nem életveszélyes sérülésekkel – mondta McManus.
Később egy Facebookon közzétett videóban a rendőrfőnök azt mondta, hogy a meglőtt rendőrök száma valójában összesen hét volt.
A másik három ember állapotáról nem közölt semmit. A videón McManus rendőrfőnök azt mondta, nem világos, hogy a gyanúsított saját magát lőtte-e le, vagy a rendőrök lövései találták el.

Amint arról beszámoltunk egy ámokfutó lövöldözni kezdett a montenegrói Cetinjébe. Az esetnek jelenlegi információk szerint tizenkét halálos áldozata van, közülük kettő gyermek – közölte Danilo Saranovic montenegrói belügyminiszter.
A rendőrség közlése szerint a 45 éves A.M. egy kávézóban rálőtt néhány emberre, majd elmenekült, és menekülés közben még több helyen lövöldözött. A belügyminisztérium tájékoztatása szerint tíz halottról és négy sebesültről tudnak, a helyi rendőrség szerint viszont nem kizárt, hogy menekülés közben másokat is megölt a férfi.
A belügyminisztérium közölte, hogy a kávézóban az elkövető rokonai, barátai és ismerősei tartózkodtak, őket támadta meg a férfi, az indítékok azonban egyelőre nem ismertek.
A beszámoló szerint a férfi egész nap ivott, és a kávézóban összeszólalkozott a vendégekkel, majd hazament, felkapott egy fegyvert, és a kávézóba visszatérve rálőtt a vendégekre. A halálos áldozatok között van a vendéglátóhely tulajdonosának két, 10, illetve 13 éves gyermeke. Négy sérült túlélte a támadást, az orvosok közlése szerint mindannyiuk állapota stabil.
A rendőrség hajtóvadászatot indított az elkövető ellen, aki, miután bekerítették, fejbe lőtte magát, és kórházba szállítás közben meghalt. A montenegrói kormány csütörtöktől háromnapos nemzeti gyászt rendelt el.
Milojko Spajic miniszterelnök azt is közölte, a tragédia után felülvizsgálják a fegyverbirtoklásról szóló törvényt.
A kilencvenes évek délszláv háborúi után a civil lakosságnál rengeteg fegyver maradt, becslések szerint a 620 ezres Adria-parti országban csaknem 245 ezer fegyver van.
Montenegróban a legutóbb 2022 augusztusában történt hasonló eset szintén Cetinjében. Akkor egy férfi egy családi vitát követően kezdett el lövöldözni, és tizenegy embert megölt, majd tűzharcba keveredett a rendőrökkel, akik agyonlőtték.

A fiú több embert is megtámadott az ámokfutás során.
Legalább 7 ember megtámadásával vádolnak egy fiút, aki több járókelőnek is nekiment a szlovákiai Nagyszombaton. A Paraméter információi szerint a fiatal elkövető többeket megütött és megrúgott, valamint fenyegetőzött is.
A 15 éves támadó a legnagyobb nagyszombati bevásárlóközpontban, illetve a vasútállomás környékén kezdett ámokfutásba.

Egy ember meghalt, sokan megsebesültek Texasban, amikor egy férfi lopott kamionnal, bosszúból belehajtott az állami közbiztonsági hivatal épületébe pénteken.
A 42 éves Clenard Parker – egy hivatásos sofőr – Brenham városában egy nappal azt követően követte el a támadást, hogy a hivatalban elutasították teherautó-vezetői jogosítványának kiadását.
A férfi helyi idő szerint péntek délelőtt ellopott egy szállítmánnyal megrakott nagy méretű, 18 kerekű félpótkocsis kamiont, és nekivezette az épületnek. A helyszíni felvételek azt mutatták, hogy az épület komolyan megsérült, valamint a kamion vezetőfülkéje is roncsolódott.
A támadás halálos áldozata a kórházban hunyt el, rajta kívül 13 sérültről számoltak be a helyi hatóságok.
A település polgármestere, Atwood Kenjura sajtótájékoztatóján értelmetlen tragédiának nevezte a történteket. Hozzátette, hogy a férfi megpróbált kitolatni az épületből, és másodszor nekihajtani annak, ami a vizsgálat szerint a ház teljes összeomlásához vezetett volna.
A bosszú vezérelte elkövető sértetlenül szállt ki a kamionból, megpróbált elmenekülni, de a rendőrök elfogták, és letartóztatták.
Clenard Parker ellen az ügyészség több rendbeli bűncselekmény miatt tervez vádat emelni.

New York rendőrfőnöke közölte, hogy a támadó két kiérkező rendőrt konyhakéssel sebesítette meg, akik ezt követően lelőtték. A rendőrök egyikét mellkasán, a másikat fején sebezte meg, sérüléseik nem súlyosak, ugyanakkor egy további embert, egy 61 éves nőt súlyos állapotban szállítottak kórházba.
A feltételezések szerint a 38 éves férfi az áldozatok rokona volt, aki a kora reggeli órákban jelent meg a lakóháznál Queens legdélebbi, Far Rockaway negyedében.
Jeffrey Maddrey rendőrfőnök helyi idő szerint reggel tartott sajtótájékoztatóján beszámolt arról, hogy az erőszakos incidensben egy 11 éves lány, egy 12 éves fiú, egy 44 éves nő, és egy 30-as éveiben járó férfi halt meg.
A tájékoztatás szerint a támadásról egy fiatal nő értesítette a rendőrséget kora reggel, aki azt mondta, hogy az unokatestvére gyilkolta meg családjának tagjait.
A gyanúsítottat a rendőrök a ház közelében találták meg, aki egy bőrönddel a kezében próbálta elhagyni a környéket. Miután a járőrök néhány kérdést feltettek, kiderült, hogy a tettesről van szó, aki ekkor húzta elő a nála lévő kést.
A négy halott egyikét a rendőrök az épület előtt találták meg, a többit a házban. A hatóság kiérkezésekor a lakóház nappali szobája lángokban állt, amit a tűzoltók viszonylag gyorsan megfékeztek, a többi áldozatra ezt követően bukkantak rá – hangzott el a bűncselekményről szóló sajtóértekezleten.
A rendőrfőnök hozzátette, hogy a tüzet is a támadó okozta, aki egy bútort gyújtott meg. A eddigi feltételezések szerint családi tragédia történt, de az eset vizsgálata még tart.

Öt embert meghalt, amikor egy ámokfutó tüzet nyitott az egyesült államokbeli Észak-Karolina fővárosában, Raleigh-ban egy sétaútvonalon helyi idő szerint csütörtökön.
A tettes elmenekült a helyszínről, de a rendőrök egy házban elfogták és őrizetbe vették. A halálos áldozatok között volt egy szolgálaton kívüli rendőr is.
Két embert, köztük egy másik rendőrtisztet kórházba szállítottak. A rendőrt később kiengedték, de a másik túlélő állapota válságos.
Az elkövetőt a rendőrség fehér, fiatalkorú férfiként írta le, személyazonosságát és életkorát nem hozták nyilvánosságra.
A lövöldözés délután 5 óra körül tört ki egy, a belvárostól északkeletre fekvő lakónegyedben – mondta Mary-Ann Baldwin, Raleigh polgármestere. A területre rendőröket vezényeltek, lezárták az utakat, és figyelmeztették a lakosokat, hogy maradjanak otthonaikban, amíg a lövöldözőt keresik.
A hatóságok egyelőre nem közöltek részleteket az elkövető indítékáról.

Életfogytig tartó szabadságvesztésre ítélték kedden egy öt halálos áldozatot követelő németországi autós ámokfutás elkövetőjét.
Az ötrendbeli emberölés és tizennégy rendbeli súlyos testi sértés miatt elítélt férfi 2020. december 1-jén Trierben városi terepjárójával nagy sebességgel behajtott egy sétálóutcába, halálra gázolva öt embert – köztük egy kilenchetes csecsemőt és édesapját – és megsebesítve 18 másikat.
A Rajna-vidék-Pfalz tartományi városban született 52 éves német férfi ügyében nem tártak fel terrorizmusra vagy vallási indítékra utaló adatokat.
A trieri tartományi bíróság bizonyítottnak találta, hogy a vádlott szándékosan hajtott a tömegbe, és az volt a célja, hogy minél több emberben kárt tegyen.
Ezért különösen súlyosnak minősítették bűncselekményeit. Ez a minősítés azzal jár, hogy az elítélt nem kerülhet feltételesen szabadlábra a büntetés első 15 évének letöltése után.
A bíróság azt is elrendelte, hogy életfogytig vonják be a jogosítványát, és zárt pszichiátriai intézetben helyezzék el.
A perben szakértők kimutatták, hogy paranoid skizofréniában szenved és közveszélyes, az a rögeszméje, hogy egy nagyszabású összeesküvés áldozata.
Védői a szakvéleményre hivatkozva a vádlott korlátozott büntethetőségének megállapítását kérték, és azt indítványozták, hogy legfeljebb 15 év szabadságvesztésre ítéljék, és rendeljék el pszichiátriai kezelését.
Az ítélet nem jogerős. A Südwestrundfunk (SWR) regionális közszolgálati médiatársaság jelentése szerint a védelem még nem döntötte el, hogy fellebbezzen-e.
