Rakétatalálat ért kedden egy máltai lobogó alatt közlekedő teherhajót, miközben észak felé tartott a Vörös-tengeren, és 76 tengeri mérföldre északnyugatra járt a jemeni Szalif kikötőjétől – közölte az Ambrey nevű, hajózási biztonsággal foglalkozó brit vállalat és a görög hajózási minisztérium.
A görög tulajdonban lévő, Zografia nevű hajó Vietnamból Izraelbe tartott 24 fős legénységével, amikor megtámadták, de a görög hajózási minisztériumból származó tájékoztatás szerint személyi sérülés nem történt, rakomány pedig nincs a hajón. A jármű tudta folytatni az útját.
„Sérültek nincsenek, csak anyagi kár keletkezett” – közölte a görög minisztériumi forrás.
Az Ambrey vállalat egy tanácsadói közleményben számolt be a rakétatámadásról.
A nemzetközi tengeri kereskedelemben kommunikációs szerepet vállaló brit kormányhivatal (UKMTO) pedig arról számolt be, hogy jelentést kapott egy incidensről, amely körülbelül száz tengeri mérföldre történt Szaliftól északnyugatra.
Egy amerikai teherhajót is találat ért hétfőn a jemeni partok közelében, abban a járműben kisebb kár keletkezett, de személyi sérülés ott sem történt – írja a BBC.
Az Irán által támogatott jemeni húszi lázadó csoport azzal fenyegetőzött, hogy kiterjeszti a Vörös-tengeri támadásainak körét, válaszul Izrael Gázai hadműveletére, beleértve az Egyesült Államok hajóit is, amiért az amerikai és a brit légierő jemeni célpontokat bombázott az elmúlt napokban.

Tegnap kora reggel újabb csapást mért egy, a húszik által ellenőrzött jemeni területre az amerikai hadsereg. Olyan helyszínt vettek célba, ahonnan szerintük a húszik támadhatják a Vörös-tengeren közlekedő kereskedelmi hajókat.
A szombati akció előtti csütörtökön az Egyesült Államok és Nagy-Britannia hadereje légicsapások sorát hajtotta végre a húszik ellen. António Guterres ENSZ-főtitkár akkor azt mondta, hogy „ne mérgesítsék el még jobban a helyzetet”. Emlékeztetőül: az első csapások 28 helyszínt és több mint 60 célpontot érintettek (öt ember vesztette életét, és hat megsebesült), Joe Biden amerikai elnök pedig már akkor figyelmeztetett, hogy ezzel nincs vége a rakétazápornak.
Az amerikai haditengerészet pénteken figyelmeztette az amerikai zászló alatt közlekedő hajókat, hogy a következő 72 órában kerüljék a Vörös-tenger és az Ádeni-öböl egyes területeit.
A csütörtöki támadásra válaszul a húszik megtorlást ígértek, mire az amerikai hadsereg és a Fehér Ház is közölte, hogy számítanak válaszcsapásra. Nasszer Kanaani, az iráni külügyminisztérium szóvivője az iráni vezetés nevében szólva elítélte az akciót, és azt mondta, hogy az efféle önkényes támadások gerjesztik a térség amúgy is instabil helyzetét. Teheránban pénteken tüntetést volt, a résztvevők brit, amerikai és izraeli zászlókat égettek, miközben különböző jelszavakat skandálva mindhárom nemzetet elítélték a tetteikért.

Az amerikai haditengerészt megsemmisített négy, a Vörös-tenger déli részén lévő amerikai romboló felé tartó drónt, amelyet Jemen húszik ellenőrizte részéről lőttek ki – jelentette be vasárnap az amerikai hadsereg Központi Parancsnoksága (CENTCOM).
A parancsnokság az X közösségi platformon egyúttal azt is közölte, hogy az amerikai erők szombaton két, a térségen áthaladó hajó vészjelzéseire is válaszoltak. Az indiai, illetve norvég zászló alatt közlekedő olajszállító tartályhajók dróntámadást jelentettek.
A térségben néhány napja kezdődött az Egyesült Államok vezetésével zajló, a Vörös-tenger hajózási szabadságát biztosítani kívánó nemzetközi misszió, az őrjáratokban több tucat ország vesz részt.
A nemzetközileg elismert jemeni kormány ellen harcoló húszik több támadást indítottak a térségben Izrael felé haladó hajók ellen. A lázadók a műveleteket a palesztinokkal való szolidaritással indokolják, és leszögezték: minden, a zsidó állam felé haladó hajót célpontnak tekintenek mindaddig, amíg az izraeli blokád alatt álló Gázai övezet élelmiszerhez és orvosi felszereléshez nem jut.
Mindeközben az amerikai védelmi minisztérium (Pentagon) szombaton azt közölte, hogy iráni dróntámadás ért egy libériai zászló alatt közlekedő, japán tulajdonban lévő olajszállító hajót az Indiai-óceánon, 200 tengeri mérföldre India partjaitól.
A tárca közleményben kiemelte, hogy 2021 óta ez volt a hetedik, kereskedelmi hajó ellen elkövetett iráni támadás.

Az amerikai haditengerészet X-en tett közzé egy videót, amelyen az USS Carney rakétaindításai láthatóak, a Vörös-tengeren.
A jemeni húszi lázadók ballisztikus rakétáik, illetve drónjaik segítségével zaklatják a Vörös-tengeren áthaladó amerikai és izraeli civil teherszállítókat és hadihajókat is.
Az USS Carney, a térségben állomásozó amerikai flotta egyik Arleigh Burke-osztályú rombolója már többször is kénytelen volt légvédelmi rakétákkal védekezni az őt, vagy az általa kísért hajót célba vevő húszi rakétákkal szemben. Erről most videót is közöltek:
Az SM-2 rakéták az amerikai haditengerészet számára kifejlesztett közepes hatótávolságú felszíni-levegő rakéták (végszükség esetén bevethetők hajók ellen is). Első variánsait az 1960-as években tesztelték, azt követően pedig folyamatos módosításokkal tartották hadrendben.
Bár a Pentagon megosztott a kérdésben, hogy az Egyesült Államoknak szükséges-e válaszcsapást mérnie az iráni rezsim által is támogatott milíciára. A jemeni–szaúdi tárgyalások kimeneteléért és a Közel-Keleten dúló konfliktus eszkalálódása miatt aggódó Biden-kormányzat határozottan elutasítja a katonai lépéseket.

Legalább két ember életét vesztette és 150-en megsérültek a Jemen dél-keleti határövezetét pusztító trópusi ciklon, a Tedzs miatt – közölték szerdán a helyi hatóságok.
A jelentős esővel járó, az ománi határövezetben hétfő este lecsapó trópusi vihar villámárvizet okozva elöntötte az utakat és elvágta a távközlési vonalakat. A hírközlés megbénult, jelentősen lelassítva a határ menti kormányzóság területén megkezdődött mentési munkálatokat. A károk miatt a helyszínen dolgozó vöröskeresztes önkéntesek arra kényszerültek, hogy egy ideig szüneteltessék a mentést.
A hivatalos állami hírügynökség, a Saba keddi beszámolója szerint mintegy 10 ezer ember kényszerült otthona elhagyására. A szaúd-arábiai kormány támogatását élvező jemeni kormány által ellenőrzött területet felügyelő hadseregtábornok, Hakim al-Mutairi az AFP hírügynökségnek szerdán azt mondta, hogy időközben jelentősen enyhült a szél és az eső, de még nem sikerült helyreállítani a régió telekommunikációs vonalait.
A Vöröskereszt Nemzetközi Bizottsága és a norvég Vöröskereszt (ICRC) májusi, közös jelentése szerint az Arab-félsziget legszegényebb országának számító Jement az elmúlt hat év folyamán hat ízben sújtották különböző ciklonok, miközben az azt megelőző 25 év alatt csak négyről számoltak be a helyi hatóságok.

Ismeretlen tettes meggyilkolta az ENSZ Élelmezési Világprogramjának (WFP) regionális vezetőjét Jemen Taiz tartományában – közölte a helyi rendőrség a dpa hírügynökséggel pénteken.
A jordániai állampolgárságú WFP-vezetőt a rendőrség szerint egy motorkerékpárról lőtték agyon, miközben Turbah városban egy étteremben ült. A tettes elmenekült – tette hozzá a rendőrség.
Néhány nappal korábban jelentette be a WFP, hogy regionális irodát nyit Taiz tartományban. A Szaba jemeni hírügynökség megerősítette a hírt, további részletek egyelőre nem ismeretesek.
A pénteki a második halálos támadás, melyet Taiz tartományban egy nemzetközi szervezet munkatársa ellen elkövettek, 2018-ban a Nemzetközi Vöröskereszt egy libanoni állampolgárságú munkatársát ölték meg.

Kalóztámadást követően tűnhetett el egy jacht Jemen partjainál három orosz és két egyiptomi állampolgárral a fedélzetén – közölte hétfőn a luxushajó Dubajban élő orosz tulajdonosa.
Dmitrij Csugujevszkij az amerikai AP hírügynökségnek nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy a panamai zászló alatt hajózó, 30 Minutes nevű, 19 méter hosszú jacht április 19-én tűnt el a jemeni határ közelében a szaúdi Faraszán sziget térségében, ahol az iráni támogatást élvező jemeni húszi lázadók korábban már több hasonló támadást végrehajtottak.
Csugujevszkij szerint a Dzsibutiba induló jachton nem volt automatizált helyzetjelző berendezés, amely egyébként szabvány a veszélyes vagy forgalmas vízi útvonalakon közlekedő hajóknál.
A rijádi orosz nagykövetség vasárnap közölte, hogy elvesztették a rádiókapcsolatot a hajóval.
Csugujevszkij azt állította, hogy a jacht egyiptomi kapitányának sikerült vészjelzést leadnia, mely szerint felfegyverzett kalózok támadtak rájuk, s a szaúdi hatóságoknak tudomásuk van erről. „Azt feltételezzük, hogy elhurcolták őket” – tette hozzá.
Az Európai Unió Atalanta elnevezésű kalózellenes tengeri művelete, a Bahreinben állomásozó amerikai ötödik flotta, valamint a brit hadsereg közel-keleti tengeri szállítmányozást felügyelő részlege is vizsgálatot indított az ügyben.

Emberek százai várták az iskolában, hogy fejenként nagyjából 9 dollárnyi (kb. 3100 forint) támogatást vehessenek át. A hútik által vezetett belügyminisztérium szerint a katasztrófa „a helyi hatóságokkal való egyeztetés nélküli, véletlenszerű pénzosztás” miatt történt. A hútik információi szerint legalább 85 halálos áldozata és 322 sérültje van a tömeg összezördülésének.
Helyi szemtanúk arról számoltak be, hogy a hútik azzal próbálták kezelni a helyzetet, hogy a levegőbe lőttek, hátha uralni tudják így a tömeget: a lövéssel azonban egy elektromos vezetéket találtak el, amely leszakadt. Az emberek ezután pánikolni kezdtek, megpróbáltak kirohanni. A hútik belügyminisztériuma jelezte, őrizetbe vettek két szervezőt, nyomozás folyik.
Jemenben 2014 óta dúl eddig már több mint tízezer áldozattal járó polgárháború a lázadó, iráni támogatást élvező hútik és a nemzetközileg elismert kormány között. A harcok láthatóan enyhültek tavaly óta, az ENSZ beavatkozásával levezényelt hat hónapos fegyverszünet óta, még úgy is, hogy ez októberben lejárt. A háború azonban az országban az ENSZ szerint „a világ egyik legrosszabb humanitárius helyzetéhez” vezetett: a lakosság több mint kétharmada él a szegénységi küszöb alatt, a hútik által átvett területeken a közalkalmazottak például évek óta nem kapnak köztisztviselői fizetést.

Tizenegymillió gyerek szorul humanitárius segélyekre a polgárháború sújtotta Jemenben az ENSZ Gyermekalapjának (UNICEF) pénteki bejelentése szerint.
A szervezet arra figyelmeztetett, hogy mintegy 2,2 millió jemeni gyerek alultáplált, a helyzet pedig azonnali beavatkozás nélkül tovább súlyosbodhat.
Az alultápláltság már több mint 450 ezer gyerek esetében öltött életveszélyes méreteket, nekik sürgős segítségre van szükségük – tette hozzá az UNICEF. A szervezet emellett rámutatott arra, hogy a harcoknak 2015 és 2022 között több mint 11 ezer gyerek vált áldozatává.
A polgárháború és a nyomában kialakult humanitárius válság miatt egyre több gyerek kényszerül dolgozni és nőtt a gyerekházasságok száma is, sok család ugyanis csak így tudja biztosítani megélhetését. Egyre több kiskorút toboroznak emellett a hadseregbe és milíciákba is – áll a szervezet tájékoztatásában.
Az UNICEF-nek körülbelül 484 millió dollárra van szüksége ahhoz, hogy idén is folytatni tudja a gyerekekkel kapcsolatos humanitárius programjait Jemenben.

Jemenben 2015 óta polgárháború zajlik. A harcok újra előhozták az északi és a déli országrész ellentétét. A déli fegyveres csoportok ragaszkodnak az 1990 előtti állapothoz, azaz különálló és független Észak-, illetve Dél-Jemenre kívánják felosztani az országot. Most háromnapos tűzszünetet hirdettek a húszi lázadók.
A síita húszi lázadók a kormányerőket támogató, Szaúd-Arábia vezette arab katonai koalíció ellen harcolnak, de szombaton a háromnapos tűzszünet mellett a tartós fegyvernyugvást is kilátásba helyezték.
Mahdi al-Maszat a húszik legfelsőbb politikai tanácsának elnöke szerint ennek feltétele, hogy Szaúd-Arábia kötelezettséget vállal az ostrom feloldására, és végleg leállítja támadásait Jemen ellen.
Rijád egyelőre nem reagált az ajánlatra.
A bejelentést azt követően tették, hogy pénteken az Irán támogatását élvező felkelők több csapást is mértek Szaúd-Arábia területe ellen.
Az egyik célpont a Saudi Aramco nevű szaúdi állami olajvállalat dzsiddai elosztóközpontja volt, néhány kilométerre a formula-1-es nagydíjnak otthont adó dzsiddai versenypályától. A létesítmény két tartályát találat érte, de a vállalat szerint személyi sérülés nem volt.
A szaúdi vezetésű arab koalíció szombat hajnalban válaszul katonai műveletet indított Jemenben olajlétesítményei és a „globális energiaforrások” védelme érdekében.
A koalíció szerint a húsziknak „viselniük kell tetteik következményeit”. A szaúdi állami média jelentése szerint a koalíció felszólította a civil lakosságot, hogy tartsa magát távol olajlétesítményektől a jemeni Hudajda tartományban. A koalíció harci gépei a hudajdai kikötő környékét és Szanaát támadták.
Szaúd-Arábia arab szövetségeseivel együtt 2015-ben avatkozott be a jemeni polgárháborúba a nemzetközileg elismert kormány oldalán, miután a húszik lerohanták a fővárost, és elüldözték az országból a kabinetet, amely most Szaúd-Arábiában működik.
